Steam Link not working with Quest 3
Update 2024: It has been fixed for me and steam link now works even with older AMD drivers. It work very well even, I prefer to use it over airlink or Virtual Desktop. Steam link is not working for me. I have steam open, when I click "connect" on my headset steam link app I get "host not responding" error 200. When I start SteamVR on my PC manually first, then click "connect" on my steam link app in the headset I get a window saying "Stream initializing", "Connecting to host PC is taking longer than usual..." The app tells me the headset is paired, airlink is working fine. Does anyone else have issues?33KViews5likes23CommentsAMD Encoder's 100Mbps Cap
Hello everybody, as you can see from the screenshot above, AMD fixed in their last driver 23.2.2 the problem with their encoders when going over 100Mbps. Full release notes here: AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.2.2 Release Notes | AMD If i remember correctly, meta has hard capped the bitrate to 100 for AMD cards, so i tried to play a little with the settings after updating the drivers (i have a 6800xt) and can confirm, even if i push fixed 200Mbps from the oculus dashboard (with airlink), I'm still capped at 100Mbps. If anyone from Meta's team is reading this, please consider updating and let us use higher bitrates. It may be that AMD's user are a minority in the VR world, but we are still here. Hello, I am building an Unity application (for Windows) with Oculus Lipsync with Unity(2018.4.13f1). And I found that my lip-sync app works as below: 1) On Intel-CPU, the SDK does not consume CPUs: It looks that Intel CPU (Core i7 6700 3.4GHz) takes about 1ms. e67(Core i7 2600 3.4GHz) takes about 0.2ms. 2) On AMD CPU(Ryzen), the SDK consume much CPUs: Basically, It takes several ms. Sometimes takes over 10 ms. (I tried with ADE-62C1 / ADE-6291) I also tried to simplify the app, that is focusing on lip sync processing. Such a simplified app takes 3-5ms for lip-sync calculation. I want to do lip-sync in realtime(mic as audio source) and to accept AMD CPU. So, please advice me how to reduce CPU consumption with AMD CPU. Thank you for your cooperatoin !712Views0likes0CommentsMin Spec Questions for Developers
Hello! Am trying to address min-spec compatibility with a gtx 970. From reading the forums here and elsewhere, most advice seems to be 'find a gtx 970 to test on'. makes sense. however, they are harder to find now, overpriced because they are somewhat dated given the life-cycle of graphics cards, and i'm also curious to know if the vr market still has ample gtx 970's in action? My alternative was potentially to test on a gtx 1060-3gb which seems to have similar specs compared against a gtx 970 based on gpu.userbenchmark.com, (and what i happen to have sitting around) but also not sure if those test results with lost frame capture tool, etc, will yield accurate results. advice in the matter is appreciated! also, any thoughts on when min-spec might be updated since the gtx 970 was from 2014? [EDIT] testing on the 1060 3GB card was fine to pass nvidia, however this doesn't pass the amd spec, so will continue to look into AMD testing for min-spec.541Views0likes0Comments
