APK No Longer Loading onto Headset
I've been able to package my game many times and drag and drop the .apk into the MQDH and it was working just fine. But today it suddenly stopped working. It shows the .apk loading then says the APK Successfully Installed, but the application isn't there. I tried it on older .apk builds that worked before but I'm getting the same thing for them too now. I've tried restarting all my devices. Quest. Computer. MQDH. Unplugged the headset. Nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else had this? Does anyone have a fix?Solved4.2KViews1like5CommentsOngoing App Discoverability Issues Post-Recent Meta Horizon Store (Merging of App Lab & Main Store)
Hello fellow developers, I wanted to bring attention to an important issue that I’ve encountered since the merging of the stores, which I believe might be affecting more than just my app. After releasing an update to my app with the new metadata, I noticed a sharp decline in searchability—users can now only find my app by searching the exact name, whereas previously relevant keywords worked well in the search. I've been in communication with Meta's Developer Support team, who have acknowledged the issue and are working on it internally. However, I felt it was important to raise this in the community because this may be affecting other developers, particularly those who rely on searchability for discoverability and revenue. Here’s the situation: Only exact-name searches return my app in search results, despite all keywords being properly entered and compliant with guidelines. This issue arose immediately following the 5th August launch of the Meta Horizon Store. Meta is aware of the problem but has not provided a concrete timeline for resolution or clear interim solutions. If any of you are experiencing similar challenges, I think it’s crucial that we start a discussion. Discoverability is vital for every developer on the platform, and if this is a broader issue, we may need a more transparent approach from Meta, such as flagging it as a known issue. In the meantime, if you’ve encountered this issue and found any effective workarounds (such as changes to app metadata, or modifications to Early Access settings), I’d be grateful to hear your thoughts. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences.788Views1like1CommentEnhanced Panorama Viewing with Passthrough and Wall-Locking
Current Situation Currently, panoramas on Meta Quest are displayed against a plain background, which doesn't take advantage of the device's mixed reality capabilities. Proposed Improvement I suggest implementing a new viewing mode for panoramas that combines passthrough technology with the wall-locking feature seen in YouTube VR's mixed reality environment option. Key Features Passthrough Integration* Allow users to view panoramas with the real-world environment visible in the background using the Quest's passthrough technology. Wall-Locking Option Implement a feature similar to YouTube VR's mixed reality mode, where users can "lock" the panorama display to walls or surfaces in their physical space. Flexible Viewing Give users the option to switch between the current plain background mode and this new mixed reality mode. Adjustable Opacity: Allow users to adjust the opacity of the passthrough background to find their ideal balance between the panorama and their real environment. Benefits Enhanced immersion by blending virtual panoramas with the real world More natural and comfortable viewing experience, especially for longer sessions Increased spatial awareness while enjoying panoramic content Versatility in how users can experience their panoramic photos and videos384Views0likes0CommentsUnity Quest 3 Game or App Support
Dear Meta Community, I am writing to seek guidance and assistance regarding the development of a Unity VR program for my project, which focuses on a VR rehabilitation system. The project involves the creation of three distinct environments within Unity for users to navigate through as part of their rehabilitation process. We have successfully developed these environments, but now we are facing challenges in integrating them into a cohesive VR program. Specifically, we need to create a Unity program that incorporates all three environments seamlessly. This program should include a user interface with settings to adjust parameters such as speed and difficulty, as well as a game menu to allow users to select their desired environment. However, our group is currently lacking the necessary hardware to fully test and optimize the VR experience. While we have a computer capable of running the Oculus Link with the Quest 3 Headset, it must be wired in, which poses limitations for our treadmill-based setup. We are unsure if developing an app for the Oculus platform is the best approach for our project, given our hardware constraints and the need for compatibility with treadmill usage. We would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions you may have regarding alternative solutions or workarounds that could help us achieve our objectives. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. We are eager to hear your recommendations and look forward to your response. Please do not just refer me to a page. Hi Developer team I am reaching out here in kind of a desperation! At this point Meta has granted me a "Replacement" of the Meta Quest PRO, because in their opinion, I have recieved a faulty headset. However; they will require a return procedure of 8 - 12 days, and that is totally unacceptable to me, as I am on a tight deadline, with a client that travels very far to see the result of my work on the headset. SO ... in total desperation I would like to hear if someone has some advice to maaaaaybe make my headset work. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please let me know. I am desperat here. Here is what is going on: - I can not connect with either my controllers or my phone. Here is the settings, and what I have tried: - The phone and the headset is on the same Wifi network. I tried several networks and routers. - I have updated to the latest version of the app on the phone and the software on the headset. - I have restarted the phone several times and the headset several times - I updated the phones iOS to the latest version. (The phone is an iPhone 14 pro.) And the headset could not connect with the phone on the previous iOS version either. - I have reset the headset to factory settings. - When resetting to Factory settings, in the setup; it will not pair with either of the controllers. It will not connect to both of them in the setup for both. It will not connect with either of them individually. - Both the headset and the controllers are fully charged. - The Controllers are not showing green even thought they are fully charged. They will blink between blue and red and the light that indicates power, on the headset is kind of purple - I have tried to connect via Bluetooth on the phone. The phone can not see the headset. Sometimes it sees it for a short while and then it jumps of. The "i" - I have tried to connect via the app after resetting of Factory settings, with the "Pair your headset with Meta Quest app" and the 5 digits number. But I get a "Headset not found" after i put in the 5 digits, and have waited a long time searching for it. So ... any suggestions, or do I just have to eat the 8 - 12 days return policy? I have been in contact with Meta Quest support several times, begging and begging and begging for help and for them to do something to speed up the return process, since this is an extraordinary situation with a tight deadline and a client that will. be very unhappy if they travel from the other side of the world to have a cool VR experience and there is not headset to have the experience on. Thanks in advance. Have a great day, // Brokop599Views0likes0CommentsWould someone be kind enough to verify if my applab link is working?

The feature is supposed to provide a 3rd person camera that is controllable on the device that is being casted to but the actual implementation does not correctly set the camera view in the app that is being casted to - instead of modifying the position of the 3rd person camera viewed in the oculus app, the example modifies the position of a gameobject that has a quad displaying a virtual camera. that quad display is modified correctly, but the texture that drives the quad is not sent to the oculus app. the touch screen features of the oculus app to change the view of the spectator 3rd person camera do not work (tried android, iOS and web, all latest versions)2.1KViews1like2Comments
