No audio when using Oculus Link
I have no audio on my Quest headset when using Oculus Link. These are all the things I have tried to resolve the issue: Reboot PC and/or Quest and plugged things back in in many different orders. Restarted the Oculus service. Tried different USB ports. Tried different USB cables. Tried both an active and a passive extender. Tried throwing a USB 3 hub into the mix just because, both as the first part of the chain and as the second part. Tried with headphones plugged into the Quest and with them removed. Tried toggling all the options related to sound that I could find within the software (Devices > Quest and Touch, all those sound options). Repaired / reinstalled Oculus software. Uninstalled Virtual Desktop Streamer app and its audio driver. Changed my desktop speakers from 5.1 to stereo. Attempted setting every single audio output device as default in Windows. Plugged in my CV1, went through the setup, and then tried piping audio through the Oculus Rift Headphones audio output adapter. Reinstalled oculus-driver.exe. Opened a ticket with Oculus Support (they told me they won't support beta software, lol) Is there anybody with the same issue who found a solution? Or at this point is my only bet to wait a year until it stops being beta and Oculus Support actually tries to help? EDIT: I finally got it working after uninstalling the NVIDIA HD Audio driver. On your keyboard, press Win+X > Select "Device Manager" Open up the "Sound, video and game controllers" node. Right click the NVIDIA High Definition Audio driver and choose "Uninstall device".Solved176KViews1like116CommentsQuest 3 has no audio when connected to PC
I recently get the Quest 3, and for some reason I can't get the audio to come through my headset when it is connected to my PC using a link cable or AirLink. It shows as a device in the sounds settings and it is enabled in the audio Control Panel Playback section. I never had this problem on my Quest 2. I have updated the drivers, tried disabling the Nvidia High Definition Audio driver. Any help greatly appreciated! Note: This green audio bar next to the Oculus audio device stays at half-full whether the computer is playing or not. Not sure if that helpsSolved50KViews3likes48CommentsQuest 3 blowing air and won’t turn on
I just purchased a meta quest 3 about 2 weeks ago and the screen would turn black when I had it on. I wouldn’t even be able to type in my passcode by the time it turned black. I did what was said to hold the power and volume buttons for 10 seconds and once I did that it turned off and started blowing air from the front side of the headset. I’ve put it on a charger, held all 3 buttons for 30 seconds+ and still nothing. It’s been 10 minutes and it’s still just blowing out air.Solved21KViews0likes25CommentsQuest 3 no sound via steam link

Just as the title says, I'm not getting any audio through my headset while using a link cable for the oculus home-- no desktop audio in oculus home, no game audio when in a game, despite video working flawlessly. Issue persists with games both from oculus library and steamvr library. Audio works perfectly with steam link. Here is everything I've tried so far to fix it: enabled Oculus Virtual Audio Device in device manager and audio settings, tried every audio device in windows settings, tried every combo of audio settings on the oculus pc app, reinstalled/repaired oculus pc app, enabled beta testing and turned it back off, plugged headphones into the headset, tried every audio device in in-game menus, disabled and re-enabled every audio device in device manager, and restarted both my PC and quest 2 multiple times between attempts. so far nothing has affected any change at all. When I have music playing on my desktop while establishing the link, there will be a brief blip of desktop audio through the headset, but it immediately goes away. I'm out of ideas as to how to fix this and help is appreciated.17KViews0likes12CommentsPreferred audio rate-- 44100 or 48000?
I have a choice, when synthesizing the audio for my app, of doing so at 44100 or 48000 hz. Is one "better" or more natural for the Quest? That is, does the Quest have some "true" resolution that it is resampling to, such that in fact if I submit (for example) a 44.1khz sample stream to OpenSL, it will be internally resampled to (hypothetically) 48khz before hitting the DACs? Or vice versa? Will Oculus Audio work better with one sample rate vs the other? The Oculus Audio reference guide says "44100 and 48000 are recommended for best quality". Is this a promise that the Oculus devices are equally capable of playing either a 44.1khz or 48khz sample stream at native resolution? (If it helps, I am developing against the Native/C++ API.)8.7KViews2likes7CommentsStill can't figure out how to fix "Meta Quest Link No Sound" problem
I bought a Quest 3 last week and finally got Quest LInk working, but there is no sound, this is what I did trying to fix it. 1. Enroll PTC in both Quest Link and Meta Horizon and let them update and reboot 2. Make sure Hear Computer Audio in VR and Hear Audio from Computer are checked and not muted 3. Change the name of Oculus Virtual Audio Device to "Headphones" No luck at all, could you please be so kind telling me what have I missed? Much appreciated!6.1KViews0likes20CommentsAnyone know a good place to buy sound effects for a project?
Hello I am curious as to where I can find a good site for purchasing sound effects for a Horror / Mystery game? This my first time going at a project completely solo. I do have simple audio gear but I would be interested in purchasing sound effects rather than trying to produce all of them myself. Thank you in advance.5.8KViews0likes14CommentsOculus Audio Previewer 32.0.0 for DAW (Mac) needs to be update to 64-bit
The most recent version of the Oculus Audio Previewer 32.0.0 for DAW (Mac) plug-in is not a valid 64 bit AAX plug-in. https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-spatializer-daw-mac/ Could you please update it? Thank you3.7KViews1like2CommentsNo audio in Shipping build
In my Unreal project (4.18.3) the audio is working fine while playing in the editor, but doesn't work (it's completely silent) in a Shipping build. If I use the Vive instead of the Rift with the exact same Shipping build the audio works fine, so it's definitely an issue with Oculus. I have tried running the shipping build from my hard drive, but have also uploaded it to the Alpha Release Channel for my project and downloaded it and played it through the Oculus store with the same result. The build is successful, but it does include these lines in the Output Log, which seem like they might be relevant: [OVRPlugin][ERROR] ovr_GetAudioDeviceInGuidStr failed: [OVRPlugin][ERROR] Cannot get preferred VR audio IN device.[OVRPlugin][ERROR] ovr_GetAudioDeviceOutGuidStr failed: Has anyone else experienced this, and knows how to fix it?3.3KViews0likes7Comments
