Enabling Facial Expressions on Networked Avatars
Hi all! I'm looking to enable face tracking for a multiplayer game I'm currently developing where each avatar is network instantiated. The current documentation explains how to set it up for local avatars. Hello, I'm currently working on a multiplayer game using Unity and Photon Unity Networking. I'm mainly interested on how the Oculus Rooms will work and how to integrate it into my multiplayer solution. The avatars would also be nice, but we currently have our own avatars in our game. It sounds like the Oculus Rooms would be first released on the GearVR and later on the Rift. I'm not exactly looking for the consumer release date, but it would be nice to have the API's so we can start integrating this into our game earlier than later. Since a few days the setup of the legacy avatars in Oculus Quest appears to be broken. Most configuration windows stay empty and some others are crashing the configurator. To me it looks like a problem with their backend as it was the same for v31 and v32 of the OS. Too bad that it is not possible to use the new avatars in applications yet. This situation is really bad for us because our new customers can't configure their avatars for our collaboration application. I'm using Unity 5.5 and OvrAvatar (V1.10.1) is taking up 53kb per frame (at 90fps = 4.7MB per second). After a minute, GC collection comes and my frame rate drops from 90 to 45 and never recovers. Anybody else experiencing this? Anyone have a solution?1.8KViews0likes5Comments
