Fans Running When Headset is Off
I recently purchased a Quest 3 (having owned one before just after release and don't remember having this issue). I have automatic updates off and never put the headset to sleep, I always turn it off. I've noticed a couple of times now on passing the headset, that I can hear the fan going full blast when the headset is off, black screen, and it takes a long press of the power button to stop the fan, which also turns on the device. If I had not done this, the battery will have probably completely drained (strap with battery was already at 0%). Is this a known issue, or do I need to return the headset?
Question about the meta quest 3s battery
So I bought it on black friday. Each time I fully charge it ( I dont have elite strap with the battery ) and open my meta quest 3s and check the battery in settings it says 99%. It is normal ( like it drains 1% away right when you start it ) or does the battery has an issue? Thanks for help!
Issue with Meta Quest 3S (Battery) (Charging)
Hey everyone, I got my Quest 3s over 4 months ago, and less than 2 months in, my Quest decided to no longer charge. My device is stuck on 1% battery and doesn't turn on at all. I have tried multiple USB-C chargers that should definitely give it enough power, as well as holding down the power button for 20 seconds and the additional volume button, but nothing seems to work. I attempted to go through my warranty to get another device; however, it says, "We couldn’t find a device associated with the verification info provided. Please try again". This device is not a knock-off of any sort, and I received it as a gift from Verizon when bundling my home internet and phone plan. I think that it's absolutely insane that there is 0 way to get in contact with any support, not even AI support lol. Please, if someone knows a way to fix this or get in contact with someone who can actually help. I'm all earsBug battery, inssue or normal?
I'm having a problem that I don't know if it's a defect or normal, when I leave the oculus on standby for a long time, like from Monday to Friday, it drops from 100% to about 50% for exemple, but when I pick them up on Friday and put them on my face and look at the battery, I see the battery jumping from 50 to 43, then to 39, then 34, 27 and it keeps jumping until it stabilizes at a low number like 23, then it goes slowly, 22, 21, 20... etc, is this normal?

I’ve been dealing with a persistent and widespread issue affecting the Meta Quest 3 headset and controllers related to severe battery drain, both during use and while powered off. For several months, I’ve noticed that even when the headset is fully charged and then turned off properly, the battery depletes at an unusually high rate. After leaving the headset unused for approximately one month, the charge drops from 100% to around 5%. This is extremely frustrating, especially since my previous Quest 2 headset could hold a full charge for months without any noticeable drain, and its controllers maintained more than 60% charge even after extended periods of inactivity. I have thoroughly reviewed all available settings to disable features that might keep the headset active in the background or prevent it from entering sleep mode. I’ve also turned off auto-updates and background services, yet the issue persists. Despite these precautions, the headset still performs auto-updates and consumes power unnecessarily when it should remain idle. To rule out individual hardware faults, I tested two separate Quest 3 headsets in my household both exhibit the same problem. Additionally, several friends and family members who own the Quest 3 report identical behaviour, confirming this is not an isolated defect but a broader design or firmware issue. I’ve kept the firmware updated in hopes that Meta would address the problem, but there has been no improvement. Each update seems to introduce additional complications while failing to resolve the ongoing battery drain I hate the fact the headset will auto update when I have that turned off. At this point, it’s clear that the Quest 3 suffers from a serious power management flaw that needs urgent attention from Meta’s engineering and software teams. The level of battery depletion while the device is off is unacceptable for a headset and significantly undermines its usability. It feels like the setting is a lie when you turn off the device its like turning off is a fake sleep mode where you device is in fact still on and updating even if you disable.
Meta Quest 3 Headset Won't Power on
Meta Quest 3 Oculus headset Won't Power on. Have tried holding power button for over one minute, will not turn on. Have tried using different charger and power source plug in charging for several hours and still won't power on. Hello, I plugged my Quest 3 in last night to use it today. I always shut down after using it. The glasses were very hot to the touch. The USB boot screen was on strangely, so I toggled down to restart. There was some software update that happened and then my main screen came up with a low battery warning. Also, the boot screen information was burned into my left eye's screen. The controllers then updated. I powered it off and plugged it back in. I waited a few minutes and restarted. It went through the same software and controller updates and still shows the screen burn and seems hotter. PLEASE HELP!
