Cannot run OculusDebugTool.exe & Black screen when trying to enter Link Rift via Device
Hi there, i am currently experiencing 2 issues. The first is that whenever i connect via my link cable to the Quest 2, after attempting to enter PCVR through the link button from the quest 2 device, all i see is a black screen or sometimes 3 dots. I have been told a solution to this is to reduce the resolution on the oculusdebugtool, however, when attempting to run this tool in the oculus-diagnostics folder, i get an error message which reads: "Unable to connect to service. Unable to locate LibOVRRT symbol: ovr_GetControllerPositionUncertainty Error code:-3023 Version: 23.0.0.43.517. Does anyone have any idea how i can solve these problems? It would be much appreciated :D!!1.6KViews0likes1CommentGetting a black screen when following Quest tutorial in Unity
I've been trying to follow the instructions under "Develop>Oculus documentation>Unity>Get Started" on Unity 2019.4.4f1, but while the app works fine in the editor preview, when I start it from "Unknown sources" on the Quest, I invariably see only a black void. I can interact with the guardian fine. If I put the HMD to sleep and wake it up again, I briefly see a flash of the standard Unity sky and ground scene before the void shuts everything out. I've tried recreating a project from scratch and I get the same phenomenon out of the box. I initially had not created an XRRig in the hierarchy, but doing so (and deleting the old main camera) has had no effect. I also tried replacing the XRRig with an OVRCameraRig, but that changed nothing. Is there a tutorial for developing for the Quest on Unity 2019.4 (that works)?6.6KViews4likes9CommentsUnity Utilities 1.11 Platform Menu Black Screen Bug?
Is anyone else experiencing a black screen when returning to the game after long-pressing the back button in GearVR? Repro steps: - Unity 5.5.2f1: - Empty project. - Import Oculus Utilities for Unity 5 (1.11.0) - Import OSig, tick Virtual Reality Supported, add bundle id and build. On my S6 and S7, if I hold down back and bring up the Platform Menu then try to return to the game, I just get a black screen. It was working fine with 1.09, but I decided to upgrade because 1.11 release notes say: "All mobile applications using Utilities 1.9 and 1.10 will fail Oculus Store submission due to a bug affecting reserved interaction handling for the Universal Menu"1.6KViews0likes5CommentsBlack screen on executing build on Rift CV1 and Unity 5.5.1p2
Hello, I get a black screen in the Rift HMD whenever I create and execute a new build, only my monitor displays the scene (albeit frozen). I have tried this with an empty project and I get the same problem. I've attached the output_log.txt. If I run the build while the Oculus App home page is up, the home page stays up. VR works fine in the Editor and works with running previous builds from Unity versions prior to 5.5.1f1. Using Unity native VR (not Oculus Utilities) As I no longer have a previous Unity versions installed, I am unable to try building on another version. Using Unity v5.5.1p2 Oculus runtime 1.11 Windows 7 64 bit I seem to be having this problem since Unity 5.5.1f1. I had not made any other software or hardware changes to my machine other than updating Unity. Thanks.3.9KViews0likes9CommentsScreen goes black when removing the HMD due to proximity sensor.
Hi all, the screen goes black when removing the HMD due to the proximity sensor after building from Unity. I want the screen to stay on when the headset is removed for the reason of showing the application at public events. Can we disable this screensaving feature without the use of sticky tape over the sensor? I've searched online and sticky tape seems the only solution mentioned. Surely this can't be the only method as the sensor has no effect when connected to the Unity Editor with the headset removed. Many thanks.1.3KViews0likes2Comments
