had quest since q1, charging port burned out, bought another Q1, it bricked, bought quest 2, it bricked, didnt care since it bricked around quest 3 release, bought a q3 and q3s those were stolen so nobodies fault there, bought a q3s immediately same day i got robbed, that just bricked today after 1 year and 2 months, customer service wants me to buy a refurbished one for 209.99 LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER. This is honestly unacceptable. My Meta Quest 2 has been completely bricked by your latest update. Before the update, it worked perfectly. After the update, it is now a useless piece of hardware. Let’s be clear! this was not caused by misuse, damage, or anything on my end. This was caused by software YOU pushed to the device. I’ve gone through every troubleshooting step possible: factory reset, reboot, charging checks — nothing works. The device is dead because of your update. What makes this worse is that it’s now conveniently “out of warranty,” yet the failure is directly tied to your software. That’s not acceptable. Customers should not be left with a bricked device because of a forced update they had no control over. I’m also not the only one? there are multiple reports of the same issue happening to other users after this update. That points to a wider problem that Meta needs to take responsibility for. Right now, I’m stuck with a device that your update has destroyed, and support has been no help. So I’ll say it plainly.... I expect Meta to step up and replace or fix devices affected by this issue. Anything less is just ignoring a problem you created. This shows you don't really care about your customers who pay for the things you build. Used my headset a few weeks ago, everything was fine. Turned it on today, had an update. Did the update, now stuck on meta logo spinning, then straight to black backlit screen. Restarting does nothing, power and volume down to boot menu doesn't change anything. Thanks for deliberately and maliciously breaking my property, meta. Was unlucky to update quest 2 to v79 (standard), it messed up usb connectivity on all my cables took me a while to read about update being at fault and not cables or usb-c port, thought beta might allready have a fix for it, activated beta updates via phone, updated to v79.130 something i believe and got stuck at boot menu or "usb update mod" no options work aside from "device info" and "power off", upon choosing any other option screen goes dark for a sec then meta logo without animation and im back to bootload menu (usb update mod) have a strong suspicion that update bricked it704Views0likes8CommentsStart screen black Meta Quest 3
Hi all, I own a MQ 3 since september 2025 and so far it's been working just fine. But last week, I couldn't start it since it was stuck with the Meta logo spinning (no sound) and the screen eventually turned gray and remains that way. I tried to force the restart, went into boot device and tried the side update (which didn't work, my laptop was able to detect the MQ but could not proceed to the update). None of that worked. It eventually managed to switch on twice since then but in the middle of the game, it started to spin and went down saying it could no longer find its location within my space. Then back to the same starting issue again. Since it's not very old and I've been pretty cautious about its storage I am thinking refund or getting a new one from the original dealer. PLEASE HELP! I bought 2 quests 3s headsets for my kids for christmas off of amazon and they were working fine for 3 days until 1 of them just shut off mid use and went all black. the charging light wont come on or anything, ive tried holding the power button with and without the volume button and nothing happens visually or audibly. when i tried going through the support page i get stopped because my devices dont show up under the my devices tab even though purchases were mad from them, and media has been saved from them. i have tried putting in the serial number but for some reason it says "support isnt available for this device" so i cant escalate to a real person to try to help me figure this out. please help, my son loves his headset so much and he is very upset with this64Views0likes1CommentQuest 3s wont turn on, No LEDS, No Boot menu
My headset is not even a week old, its worked fine up until 4 hours ago. I stopped using the headset at 31% battery, on the meta horizon app it states this is the battery as well and was synced 4 hours ago. Since then its been completely bricked. The LED light wont indicate if its charging , the screens dont work at all. And now ive left the glorfied paper weight to charge for more than 2 hours using the cable and adapter the headset came with, nothing. Some other things to note, -Cant access boot menu after holding the volume down and power for over one minute multiple times -tried and tested multiple charging cables, doesn't work -I use no accessories for the headset -LED does not work -Cant be detected on my PC on the meta app Would appreciate any advice on the matter. My son's Quest 3s appears to be hard bricked. No power, no display, no LED when plugged in, no response to any buttons. This occured after his storage reached maximum capacity. For awhile I could power on the device but it would only display pass through images and I could not get to the main menu. Is there anything we can do or are we out of luck? My Quest 3 was working fine until a couple of days ago and I use it almost daily. On trying to turn it on yesterday I am now stuck in with the following: I see a stack Meta Horizon OS logo for a couple of seconds I see the chip icon with arrow and a green progress bar which completes I see an animated spinning Meta Horizon OS logo for maybe 30-60 seconds The screens go black, they are still powered on but not showing anything. It never gets any further than that. I have tried the following, none of them changes anything: Doing a hard reboot Doing a factory reset Doing a sideload of the most recent v79 update via USB, this downloads and installs fine giving no errors but the issue is still there afterwards.
