V81 Bug? Menu won't appear when turning on Quest 3
Recently got access to the PTC for V81, and all seemed fine. But I turned on my Quest 3 and the menu won't appear at all, even after holding down the right controller button and even testing it with hand tracking... HOWEVER... This issue seems to be hit and miss. When I was ready to give up and do a factory reset, turned my headset on and randomly the menu appeared again. It sometimes disappears if I leave my headset on standby for a while, and sometimes disappears if I turn it off and on, and sometimes just randomly appears. Is this a common bug or does anyone have any potential fixes? I have tried launching games from the app and it did work one time, despite it showing the launch and install on headset, even when the app is already installed. I understand it's a beta and could be a bug but wondering if it's just me. Also, when the menu doesn't appear, if I were to hold the power button, it just shuts down, it doesn't give me the option to reset or anything. I've restarted my headset a few times and even factory reset it to try and fix it, no luck. Hi guys, I bought my first Quest 3 today. When I turned it on, it started a software update but it gets stuck there ā the device keeps turning on and off without completing the update, and I canāt get past that screen. I havenāt even set up my Meta Horizon account yet, and since I didnāt purchase my Quest 3 through the official Meta store, when I try to enter my deviceās serial number on the website it gives me an error. I tried doing the sideload update (the only fix I found on the internet) by holding the volume down and power buttons on the Quest 3. But when I select my device in the browser, I get a message saying: āyour device is not supported, please try reconnecting your devices.ā Weird cause both my PC and Chrome are detecting it as Quest 3. I also tried disabling adblock, deleting cachĆ© and cookies, incognito mode, other browsers, other PCs, other cables, connecting it on different times, etc. There is not a single thing I haven't tried. (Every single one of these attempts were done while having 50% battery. Thereās nothing else I can do, literally ā Iāve already tried factory reset several times as well. Do I need to return my device? I'm submitting this post so support can help me. For some reason meta will not let me join "Meta World Hardy Spades" it's showing an error message of "You can't visit this world It's rated ages 18+, so you won't be able to visit until you turn 18." I contacted meta and tried to reapply my birth date. It's still not working. Also the meta help is showing an error. I'm having a problem that I don't know if it's a defect or normal, when I leave the oculus on standby for a long time, like from Monday to Friday, it drops from 100% to about 50% for exemple, but when I pick them up on Friday and put them on my face and look at the battery, I see the battery jumping from 50 to 43, then to 39, then 34, 27 and it keeps jumping until it stabilizes at a low number like 23, then it goes slowly, 22, 21, 20... etc, is this normal?89Views0likes12CommentsQuest 3 (v81.1034) randomly cannot access the user profile menu after waking from sleep
I have some sort of random glitch when the Quest3 headset (v81.1034) wakes from sleep. Sometimes it only shows passthrough, and the menu to select which user profile to use does not appear. If I press the sleep button a few times, the profile menu appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears and goes into passthrough mode again. So, when this glitch occurs, I am unable to select my user profile to log in to the Quest 3. If I double-tap the headset to exit passthrough, it tries to load my new Immersive Home but fails to load because I have not been able to select any profile, so it gets stuck in load screen limbo: From here, all I can do is restart the headset, which fixes the problem temporarily. This glitch has happened 3 times in the past 3 days since getting the V81.1034 (non PTC) update on 21 October. I've already reported this glitch to Meta via the headset bug reporting option. UPDATE: the glitch happened again just now. I pulled the headset away from my face slightly and noticed that the user profile menu reappeared. As soon as I put the headset closer to my face, the passthrough came back on and the profile menu disappeared. I was able to hold the headset slightly away from my face and click on my user profile using the controller. Then the headset started up as normal and my Immersive Home loaded. It seems like some sort of glitch in the way v81 uses the proximity sensor when waking from sleep.74Views3likes2CommentsBrowser WebXR apps not recognizing correct size of space
Hey! I've been trying and testing some WebXR apps for the past few days and they have been working fine with my space setup (the scan of my room). But since this morning, it's pretty messed up. The scale of the WebXR environment is not working properly in the different apps I've been trying (my own and others). It seems like it is doing a weird scaling of everything (the UI 3D panels, the objects, the planes and surfaces, etc). I thought it could be the browser and WebXR itself, but the quest device feels weird as a whole. The main menu in passthrough mode tracks a bit of my head movement, which was not happening previously. Also, I cannot focus very well on passthrough mode and looking to my surrounding makes me feel dizzy. There seems to be an offset between the real world and representations in MR (you can see that happening with my hands in the second video). This was not happening yesterday and the days before. Out of nowhere my Quest 3 stopped letting me resize 2D windows for off-platform apps (sideloaded/unknown sources). Examples affected: Microsoft 365, AnyDesk, Firefox. Windows are stuck at a fixed size and no resize handle appears on edges or corners. My draw pattern was changed not so recently and I know a factory reset would fix this BUT, I have applications that are not obtainable as the apk installer that's native to Android was removed and means I wouldn't be able to download them again without external devices which I've not have access to. I'm able to give any proof that I own the account and devices linked to it. I DESPERATLY need my draw pattern to be either; Changed - If it were changed to my old draw pattern I would be able to continue use regularly like it was before Removed - If it was removed in exchange for changed it would help me the way if it were changed would. If either of these aren't possible I'm just going to have to abandon my headset as it took me too long to get all of those things and it would drain me to just lose it all in a whim. And again.
