Can't disable double tap enabling PTC
Hi! New version of firmvare (v81) doesn't exists option like "Passthrough->Enable passthrough double tap on quest" And now, if I double tap on my quest, it enable passthrough. How can I fix that? Maybe some adb command or smth else or only wait new update?2.8KViews21likes37CommentsRift S owners who had the Displayport issue and FIXED it: How?
Picked up a Rift S recently and it refuses to work because of the well-known displayport issue. I've already submitted a ticket, but I thought I'd try to gather info from the community as to which fixes worked and which didn't. The specific issue I'm talking about is where after connecting the Rift S, both connections will seem OK for a few seconds, but then the Displayport disconnects and you're left with one of these status screens in the Oculus app: There's plenty of speculation as to the cause of this issue and no official word from Oculus as far as my research goes, the most likely culprits seem to be a power delivery issue where the headset is drawing too much power for the USB port to keep up (which, for some reason, causes an issue with the DP connection rather than the USB one), a bad cable, or a software/firmware issue caused by the 2019 update that brought Facebook integration to the Oculus app (this is, again, pure speculation, but there are a few articles that suggest these issues became more prevalent when that update dropped) The behavior is the same for every "plug-in procedure" as Oculus describes it: Connect the USB3 cable, wait 10 seconds (the LED between the lenses goes from off, to amber, to white, and stays there- nothing from the displays themselves), connect Displayport. Here's everything I've tried so far, collected from forums and other sources: Rebooting Reinstalling Oculus app Disabling power-management USB suspend options Disabling USB suspend on USB devices through Device Manager Updating video drivers Reinstalling video drivers Reinstalling video drivers using DDU and Safe Mode to fully wipe the previous driver Running C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers\oculus-driver.exe , which starts silently and doesn't pop up any kind of status window, which seems like a bad way to design software but whatever Connecting the headset through every available USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 port on my computer, using the proper "plug-in procedure" each time Connecting a single monitor through HDMI rather than Displayport or DVI Disconnecting all other non-essential USB devices Checking the seating of the connectors on both the computer side and headset side Checking the integrity of the cable, connectors, and headset, for kinks/frays/etc Unplugging audio devices from the headset Here's what I've seen online, but haven't been able to try yet: Using a dedicated, powered PCI-E USB 3.0 card, specifically the Inateck KT4001 as (apparently) recommended by oculus support Using the above card but with different drivers (the ones that come with it, the ones Windows installs automatically, whatever "Fresco" drivers are, etc) Using a powered USB 3.0 hub Replacing the cable Replacing the GPU Replacing the entire headset Replacing the entire computer The fixes I haven't been able to try seem hit-or-miss, though the PCI-E card seems to have worked for some. So here's my question to you, Rift S user who's fixed this issue: What did you do? What has worked out for you? If your headset worked and then suddenly didn't, do you remember around what time it happened or what you did around that time? If your answer is "I stopped using a cable extender" or "I stopped using a mini-DP to DP converter" or whatever else, that answer doesn't apply to this issue. This issue is specific to the Rift S in its intended setup, with no dongles or adapters involved. Once again i've already submitted a ticket and am working through the issue personally, this isn't me asking for solutions, it's me asking for experiences from people who had this issue and got it fixed.127KViews14likes57CommentsQuest 3 (v81.1034) randomly cannot access the user profile menu after waking from sleep
I have some sort of random glitch when the Quest3 headset (v81.1034) wakes from sleep. Sometimes it only shows passthrough, and the menu to select which user profile to use does not appear. If I press the sleep button a few times, the profile menu appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears and goes into passthrough mode again. So, when this glitch occurs, I am unable to select my user profile to log in to the Quest 3. If I double-tap the headset to exit passthrough, it tries to load my new Immersive Home but fails to load because I have not been able to select any profile, so it gets stuck in load screen limbo: From here, all I can do is restart the headset, which fixes the problem temporarily. This glitch has happened 3 times in the past 3 days since getting the V81.1034 (non PTC) update on 21 October. I've already reported this glitch to Meta via the headset bug reporting option. UPDATE: the glitch happened again just now. I pulled the headset away from my face slightly and noticed that the user profile menu reappeared. As soon as I put the headset closer to my face, the passthrough came back on and the profile menu disappeared. I was able to hold the headset slightly away from my face and click on my user profile using the controller. Then the headset started up as normal and my Immersive Home loaded. It seems like some sort of glitch in the way v81 uses the proximity sensor when waking from sleep.Solved229Views3likes3CommentsCan't change/edit my Horizon Avatar
Hello, I'm experiencing a frustrating bug in Quest 3: In Horizon Worlds, I can no longer change or edit my avatar (my in-game character)! Even when I'm looking in the mirror in my home apartment, the edit button on the right side of the window doesn't work... nothing happens. Restarting Quest 3 didn't help, and neither did clearing the cache. I've already submitted a bug report several times, but so far, no solution. Have any of you encountered a similar problem, or do you have any ideas on how to fix it? Or do I just have to wait for the next update and hope it works then? Best regards, Tomyi701Views2likes10CommentsV81 Bug? Menu won't appear when turning on Quest 3
Recently got access to the PTC for V81, and all seemed fine. But I turned on my Quest 3 and the menu won't appear at all, even after holding down the right controller button and even testing it with hand tracking... HOWEVER... This issue seems to be hit and miss. When I was ready to give up and do a factory reset, turned my headset on and randomly the menu appeared again. It sometimes disappears if I leave my headset on standby for a while, and sometimes disappears if I turn it off and on, and sometimes just randomly appears. Is this a common bug or does anyone have any potential fixes? I have tried launching games from the app and it did work one time, despite it showing the launch and install on headset, even when the app is already installed. I understand it's a beta and could be a bug but wondering if it's just me. Also, when the menu doesn't appear, if I were to hold the power button, it just shuts down, it doesn't give me the option to reset or anything. Any help greatly appreciated 😁2.8KViews2likes63CommentsGift purchases not sending email codes, money taken, no real support
I’ve tried multiple times to send a game as a gift (to my friend’s email and even my own alt). Each time, the money is deducted and I receive the Meta Horizon Store receipt, but the actual gift code email never arrives. Support has been no help at all — the only answer I get is “wait 30 days for an automatic refund if you can’t find the email.” This is not acceptable when real money is involved and the problem is clearly on Meta’s side. If there is an issue with Meta’s email/SMTP system for game gifts, it needs to be acknowledged and fixed immediately, instead of leaving customers stuck for a month with no product and no solution.429Views1like3CommentsLocked out of main account. 2FA SMS not sending, Authenticator option missing
Hello Meta Support Team and Community, I am writing from a secondary account because I am completely locked out of my main account, which holds all my game purchases and history. The Issue: I am stuck in a verification loop. When I try to log in on PC or the Mobile App, the system asks for an SMS code. However, I am not receiving any SMS codes despite multiple attempts over the last 24 hours. Technical Details: Missing 2FA Option: I have previously set up an Authenticator App, but the login screen (auth.meta.com) does not show the dropdown menu to switch from "SMS" to "Authenticator App". It forces SMS verification, which is broken. "Too Many Attempts": Due to retrying, I am now getting a "Too many attempts" error. Support Block: When I tried to contact support via WhatsApp using the provided number, my number was automatically flagged/blocked by the bot, so I cannot open a ticket there. Proof of Ownership: My Meta Quest headset is currently logged in and working with this account. I have access to the email address associated with the account. I can provide the Headset Serial Number and previous purchase receipts via Private Message. Request: Please open a support ticket for me or provide a way to disable 2FA temporarily so I can regain access and fix my security settings. I simply need to bypass the broken SMS verification. Thank you for your help. [edited for privacy - this is a public forum]137Views1like2CommentsQuest 3, v83 (Navigator) have big problems after update
Trackers disconnecting when leave cameras area. No more tracking by gyro, can't get gun from chest in Contractors, can't make t-pose calibration in VRChat at all, gaming and normal use is not possible now. They disconnect not like stuck in place as usually, they literally greyed out in interface, not visible in UI and Quest send notification about tracker disconnection. Meta white line panel didn't hide in PCVR when used Meta button once. Battery can't charge when i'm just sitting in Navigator (33w power charge which works perfectly last year). Battery still drain like 1 percent in 5-10 mins. Charging in sleep mode leads to reboot, loud fan work with black screen and reboot to system without charging. Tried to disable hand tracking for tracker fix, reconnect trackers through app and UI, hard reset 4 times (and after reset i can use old Navigator with app lines and battery in bottom panel, after restart Navigator change to new with chess app positions and more minimalistic bottom panel). Nothing works, all problems still persists. On v81 i didn't get this problems at all.207Views1like1CommentHeadset is registering stick movement that isn't there
This is tricky to explain, but here it goes. my left quest 3 controller was registering movement up and to the left. No matter what i did, any game i played would move me forward and left (NNW) at full speed. So, I figured the controller had broke. No biggie, I'll order a new one. As soon as I place the order, I remember I can switch my movement to the right stick so at least I can play certain games with little to no issue! So I do that. Now my right controller controller movement. Aaaand my right controller says forward movement to the left. My controllers are apparently fine? And its my headset that's bugging and registering movement from the controllers that isn't there. Because when I switch movement from one stick to another, the other controller stops registering any input when not used. Hope this makes sense, also help? Can I just do something internally to my quest or is it broke.115Views1like9Comments
