V81 problems
Is it just me or when I updated my quest 2 to v81, the boot up process is much slower, and the shutdown process is slower too. I haven’t used it in 9 months so I was in v68 (I think) and for v68, both the boot up process and the shutdown process was not a problem at all. Can anyone let me know if this is a known problem.20Views0likes0CommentsCan't disable double tap enabling PTC
Hi! New version of firmvare (v81) doesn't exists option like "Passthrough->Enable passthrough double tap on quest" And now, if I double tap on my quest, it enable passthrough. How can I fix that? Maybe some adb command or smth else or only wait new update?421Views5likes11CommentsV81 Bug? Menu won't appear when turning on Quest 3
Recently got access to the PTC for V81, and all seemed fine. But I turned on my Quest 3 and the menu won't appear at all, even after holding down the right controller button and even testing it with hand tracking... HOWEVER... This issue seems to be hit and miss. When I was ready to give up and do a factory reset, turned my headset on and randomly the menu appeared again. It sometimes disappears if I leave my headset on standby for a while, and sometimes disappears if I turn it off and on, and sometimes just randomly appears. Is this a common bug or does anyone have any potential fixes? I have tried launching games from the app and it did work one time, despite it showing the launch and install on headset, even when the app is already installed. I understand it's a beta and could be a bug but wondering if it's just me. Also, when the menu doesn't appear, if I were to hold the power button, it just shuts down, it doesn't give me the option to reset or anything. Any help greatly appreciated 😁1KViews1like38CommentsCan't make a boundary?
I cannot make a boundary, all buttons related to making a boundary are unresponsive, even with the new navigator off. I've restarted my headset a few times and even factory reset it to try and fix it, no luck. This only started after I installed the new system update.Solved25Views0likes4CommentsMeta raybans displays do not disconnect Bluetooth when off face and in case charging.
Just received glasses in noticing that well they’re in the case charging my Bluetooth on my phone (iPhone) has not disconnected. I have the setting on that. It should be disconnecting when I remove them so that’s not working. I’ve tried toggling that on and off still the same even turning Bluetooth on and off it’s reconnecting despite the glasses are in the case charging that should not be happening, especially in the case it should just be a given if they’re charging Bluetooth should not be connected as they can’t even be worn on your face and charge. Clearly a bug has most recent update not a good first experience. How do we resolve?84Views0likes4CommentsNew Quest 3 locked on software update, impossible to fix.
Hi guys, I bought my first Quest 3 today. When I turned it on, it started a software update but it gets stuck there — the device keeps turning on and off without completing the update, and I can’t get past that screen. I haven’t even set up my Meta Horizon account yet, and since I didn’t purchase my Quest 3 through the official Meta store, when I try to enter my device’s serial number on the website it gives me an error. I tried doing the sideload update (the only fix I found on the internet) by holding the volume down and power buttons on the Quest 3. But when I select my device in the browser, I get a message saying: “your device is not supported, please try reconnecting your devices.” Weird cause both my PC and Chrome are detecting it as Quest 3. I also tried disabling adblock, deleting caché and cookies, incognito mode, other browsers, other PCs, other cables, connecting it on different times, etc. There is not a single thing I haven't tried. (Every single one of these attempts were done while having 50% battery. There’s nothing else I can do, literally — I’ve already tried factory reset several times as well. Do I need to return my device? I'm submitting this post so support can help me. I'm quite desperate, I don't see my issue anywhere on google and I spoke to support via Whatsapp and everything they told me to try, I already had.398Views0likes3CommentsLink cable Screen tearing/pixelated horizontal lines
I wanted to share my experience in case someone else runs into the same issue. Ever since I upgraded to my new 9070 XT, I’ve been having serious problems using my Oculus Quest 3S with the Link Cable. The headset connects normally and everything runs smoothly for the first 10 minutes or so, but then heavy visual artifacts start appearing inside the headset: horizontal pixel lines with wrong colors or stuck frames start appearing and it quickly becomes completely unplayable. If I unplug and replug the Link Cable, it starts working again, but only for another 10 minutes before the issue comes back. I spent over a week in contact with Meta Support, both through WhatsApp and email, working with their specialists to try every possible fix. We went through basically everything: uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers, using DDU, cleaning the system, changing cables, switching USB ports (all 3.0 or better) and even doing a full Windows reinstall. Unfortunately, nothing worked. In the end, since they couldn’t solve the problem, they added some credit to my Oculus account as a small compensation, which I appreciated, but it obviously doesn’t fix the issue. The problem disappears completely if I swap my GPU back to my old Nvidia RTX 2060, the Quest 3S works perfectly fine with that one. So this seems to be an AMD-side issue. My specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9070 XT MB: Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming (wifi) I’ve already contacted AMD support as well, but they haven’t been able to give me a clear answer so far. I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, i also found this thread with the exact same symptoms and these reddit posts with similar issues (1, 2, 3) At this point, I just wanted to share this so other people are aware this might happen. If anyone else with a Radeon 9000-series card has seen something similar, I’d really like to hear about your experience.165Views2likes5CommentsWired Link Issue v81.1034 been happening since v79 and v76
Ever since the v76 or v79 updates my link cable hasn't been registered on my headset causing PCVR issues my cable isn't broken but it rejecting connections to PCVR I use my headset only for PCVR and ever since the these updates came out its been causing major issues to PCVR in general the PCVR programs that I use keep rejecting the connection after a couple of minutes causing major issues with my PCVR experience. I tried a random USB cable and it has the same issue so I know its the port on the Quest and not my cable's I'm on current v81.1034 and this has been an issue on my quest for a while now. You guys need to fix the Cable connection on the cable it needs to be fixed because PCVR on Wi-Fi is super buggy and I want this Fixed98Views0likes4CommentsIssue with link
When I use my cable to play pcvr, after 20 or so minutes i get this glitchy lines on my headset. You can't see it on the game. The lines stay on my screen and make everything look blurry. It goes away when I replug in the headset. I have tried another link cable, and the issue persists.61Views1like2CommentsV81.1034 latest release now detecting usb 3 as usb2
So, having updated to 5131230.22000.520 on 29th Oct, I noticed performance was slow - noticable lag connecting over the link cable. Previous build was fine. I then ran a usb test and it appears its now detecting my USB 3 connection as USB 2 and in the link software I know have an exclamation mark telling me to try USB 3. Its telling me my link speed is 340meg. So i wonder if some regression has crept in the release and now we are missing USB 3 support. Note my pc is AMD chipset based. Nothing else has changed on PC. Meta really do need to do a far better job of testing against pc's !!! its not the first time we've had major issues.362Views1like24Comments
