Device storage not available through USB connection
Device: Quest 2 Currently up-to-date on v79.1034. Developer settings are enabled. MTP Notification is enabled. I have a cable and port connection that works with other devices to connect storage to my Windows PC. When I connect the Quest 2 with the USB-C cable I receive no notification, no sound, checking notifications manually through the bell icon also doesn't help. This has been an issue since I updated a couple weeks back and I'd rather not reset the headset again however currently I can't access it through USB cable. My PC also doesn't seem to make a sound when I plug it in.16Views0likes0CommentsQuest 2 Stuck Loading Into the Desktop Application
I've been using my Oculus for almost a year and a half now and I've had to troubleshoot it about every time I've had to connect it to my PC. Eventually, it works and I can hop on and play whatever PC game I want through SteamVR. Today, however, my headset is stuck in the loading void animation before it connects to the Oculus app on my desktop. This was normal. Usually, I could unplug and replug the USB-C cable into my PC and it would work again. This time, it would keep loading. I tried: - Unplugging and replugging the cable on both ends - Restarting my PC - Restarting my Headset - Restarting both - Using Air Link instead - Using a faster internet - Using and not using Ethernet - Deleting and reinstalling the Oculus Application - Deleting and reinstalling SteamVR and VR games, just in case - Updating Drivers - Checking for an Update on the Headset and Application Almost everything short of getting a new headset I have attempted. I got log diagnostics if those can be looked at to locate a problem. Oddly enough, I also noticed my VR games struggling to load even on their desktop counterparts. So, I'm unsure if I deleted a necessary file for VR applications to work the previous day or not, but these issues are stressing me out. I hope I can hear back soon! Thank you!Solved22KViews0likes15CommentsPotential Fixes and Workarounds for "Liquid or Debris in charging port" warning
Hi everyone, After struggling with the issue of the "liquid or debris found" error message when using the link cable for development and pushing builds, I thought I'd share a couple of workarounds that seem to work some of the time until Meta issues a fix for this. 1) Try a different port on your computer, maybe a different type of port. I had the error pop up nearly 100% of the time I plugged in my cable when I was using a USB type C 3.2 port on my computer. When I switched to using a USB 3.2 type A port with an adapter, I am experiencing the issue much less. I am yet to use this for an extended period of time but I'll provide an update on how frequently the error pops up later. 2) Use ADB over Wifi. If you can get your headset connected at least once, it may be worth the time to get the Meta Quest Developer Hub and try using ADB over Wifi. I believe you have to connect the headset over cable once before you can use this feature but it may save you some time down the line. Of course, this won't work with features like Unreal's VR Preview but you will still be able to package projects and push the APK over wifi as long as you are fine with waiting for the time it takes to package every time.889Views5likes1CommentA suggestion to utilize magnetic-based cable instead of usb-c connection for oculus to PC connection
So, I have used the Quest, Quest 2 and Quest Pro, and while the products had been mostly satisfactory, one of the most mind bugling issues I had was the relative unease of use of the USB-C connection mechanisms. While using the Oculus, many times I had to inadeptly move my position in a way to pull the cable, and in doing that I feel a sympathetic discomfort for my Oculus and the cable especially when it is forcibly pulled out with side friction, and as every time this occurs it decreases the life expectancy of the link-cable, the quest usb-c port and eventually the whole product use-cycle length. My quest began failing this way after a year or two, and it became very difficult for me to stably connect the usb-c cable so that pc tethering became unusable. So why not implement a magnetic-attached cable attachment solution, so that every time the cable is pulled beyond thresholds it simply disconnects and fall off without inducing any sharp feeling of cable pulling and goldfinger-frictioning? I mean, for the design to be reliable it takes a little work, but the cable that is implemented on my LG DualScreen's second screen phone case is just reliable enough for me to think of it as a good prototyping start point. In addition to these pros, the magnetic-attachment mechanism is also less susceptible to debris and/or liquid damages as recently occurred to my oculus pro....830Views1like0Commentslink cable disconnecting over and over
so my link cable (kiwi design 3.0) and other wires i have tested (3.0) dont work with my headset bc it constantly disconnects. and bc of this it makes the vr unusable. it used to happen but overtime it got worse and now the cable just disconnects every 30 sec to 1 min. anyone know a solution?915Views0likes0Comments
