Is it possible to get data from the oculus camera?
I am investigating if it is possible to use the oculust camera to recreate the environment, for this I want to obtain the data from the oculus camera first but I am having a hard time finding information about this and I think it cannot be done, could someone confirm me?597Views0likes0CommentsRecommended camera for streaming feed to oculus quest 2 (so I can play with my dog remotely)
Hey, I'm currently in the process of making an application to control a webcam and laser pointer, attached to two servo motors and raspberry pi. My goal is to stream the feed of the webcam to my oculus quest 2 so that I can play with my dog using the headset once I go back to University in September. Molly (my dog) has gotten used to me being around the house whilst school was online this past year, and now that I'm leaving she's going to be stuck at home alone whilst my mum and brother are out of the house. I figured I'd learn about VR development whilst providing some utility for her so she doesn't lose her mind next year. Unfortunately, all the cameras I have found so far are very expensive, and I can't really afford them at the moment as a student. If anyone could point me towards a camera setup that is relatively inexpensive I'd really appreciate it. I'm located in Alberta, Canada btw. Thanks for your time if you got this far! - Vic1.6KViews0likes0CommentsStereoscopic 180 degree 60 FPS 4K Camera Rig
The name kind of explains what I'm looking for. I need to record 3d stereoscopic videos in 180-degree view. I have been using this camera rig so far http://www.izugar.com/shop/product/z2xl180/. I can stitch this fine and have a side by side video made, however, it is in 30FPS only allows 60FPS as 1080p which is very bad looking, to say the least. I need it to be 4K! From what I'm gathering most producers that achieve this have created custom rigs with high performing DSLR cameras etc. Does anyone know how I can achieve this Stereoscopic 180 degree 60 FPS 4K Camera Rig? Can someone help me read out the per eye projection frustum values? I need them to be able to calculate projection matrices for my cameras. I dont need to read them myself, if you can just post all the values one is able to get from the Oculus SDK, that would be perfect. Thanks in advance!447Views0likes0CommentsReset rotation of HMD/Camera Rig
Hello, there, I don't know what to try anymore and therefore ask you for help. I would like to reset the rotation of the HMD. For my application it is very important to have an exact rotation of the HMD. However, if a user sets up the HMD and sets it so that everything is well visible to him, there is often an ofset in the x rotation although the person indicates to look exactly straight and recognizes a reference point as exactly centered. At the moment I'm already using this: _steamRend = UnityEngine.Object.FindObjectOfType<SteamVR_Render>(); _steamRend.trackingSpace = Valve.VR.ETrackingUniverseOrigin.TrackingUniverseSeated; Valve.VR.OpenVR.System.ResetSeatedZeroPose(); UnityEngine.XR.InputTracking.Recenter(); That recentered the position, but unfortunately not the rotation. Does anyone have an idea? I can't set up the HMD for my test persons in such a way that the x rotation fits me and my research results, but the test persons can't see anything anymore :-). Thank you for every hint.1.2KViews0likes1Commentcameratool.exe issue when calibrating virtual camera - Mixed Reality
Hello guys! I'm using cameratool.exe to calibrate a virtual camera using a third touch controller as a vr object. It's all good when calibrating using the chess like pattern in the Assets folder. But when it comes to calibrate the hdm itself, I just place it in the square, press the touch controller button and nothing happens. It's simply not detecting my input and I can't advance from that step. Can anyone help me please? What am I missing here? Best regards guys!1.2KViews0likes3Comments
