A strange white light came on while my Quest 3S was charging.
Hello, everyone! I have a question about my Meta Quest 3S. Tonight, I put my headset on charge because I noticed that the battery was low, but I also noticed that after a while, the charging indicator light changed from orange to white and the lenses activated. Not knowing what this meant, I got a little worried about the health of my headset, so please, can anyone give me some answers? Thank you! Hey Guys, For some reason my meta quest is stuck in a boot loop and tried everything even factory resetting and trying to side load update but nothing works. I’ve also contacted Meta and they said I could buy a new one, but I don’t want to waste another $100 for another headset so what should I do?21Views0likes1CommentQuest 3 Not charging or Charging Slowly
Hello, As the title says, My quest 3 appears to not charge or charges slowly. Some Back Story I ordered my headset from Currys which is a UK Tech store and have their care and repair; I have had this device for about 9-10 months. As I use the headset for long periods of time, it is connected to a charger a majority of the time, except when I use it to walk between the room with my pc and the room where I use VR. I recently had to get a better, Higher wattage charger; Namely 35W; The cable I use can support up to 60W of power. The reason for a different charger is simple, the Quest 3 one is short and lacks the proper power output for when I need to charge and game at the same time due to the headset reporting slow charging. For reference, I was playing VRChat through Steam link to my PC, I ended up falling asleep due to how exhausted I was due to the flu (Rare this happens), The cable was still plugged in to the port. However, When I checked the battery percentage it was at 5% and had powered itself off. The charger I have is an Anker 6 port charger dock with 1 USB-C port being able to kick out 35w of charging. What's now happening I previously used the quest link feature with a cable from a well-known company that supports charging and playing at the same time, This stopped working aswell. Any charger that gets plugged into my quest become un-usable for other devices such as my phone which reports issues with charging; This brings me to the conclusion that there appears to be a fault with either the charging ports and battery shorting cables OR I'm just really unlucky with cables. The headset seems to report charging and then not charging from a brand new cable aswell. I am curious if the USB-C port has become dislodged or a connection inside the headset has become worn. What I've tried, headset-wise I've done a complete shutdown through the headset by holding the power button down completely. I've checked for any updates - No updates needed I've checked the port itself and can't see any dust, lint or debris inside the port or the chargers I've checked settings to make sure the "Power device when charging to install updates" is turned off. I have not done a complete factory reset. My question is: With the few reports from people with a similar issue, is this a software issue where the headset's battery management has a bug in or is this a hardware issue? I plan to potentially take this into the store for them to take a look. Any advice would be greatly appreciated; I am sure that having the headset on charge shouldn't necessarily cause issues, as I'd expect the software to stop charging to deplete the battery slightly before allowing charge.Solved87Views0likes4CommentsDropped meta quest 3 and can’t turn on

My Quest 3 that I got in early December spontaneously stopped receiving or holding a charge to its battery. I use BoboVR accessories and have two spare batteries, the batteries do not charge the headset any more. Plugging in the headset onto its charger that it came with doesn’t charge it. I have checked that the charging cable is functional, as is the adapter it came with - still no luck. I have tried factory resetting the headset, but it has since died and I cannot get the menu to pop up. Looking in the Meta Horizon App hasn’t aided me either. Was there a bad update that rolled out and hurt the battery? The primary thing I use it for is VRChat. I kept out unplugged when not in use or when it was on low battery, but otherwise primarily used the BoboVR batteries to extend uptime as instructed, for roughly 3-6 hour intervals. I still have the warranty. Should I send it in to be fixed?27Views0likes1CommentMeta Quest 3 Black Screen After Logo and Firmware Arrow — Hundreds of Us Have This Problem
Many Meta Quest 3 owners are experiencing the same serious issue after what appears to be a faulty firmware update. The headset starts normally, shows the Meta logo, then displays the down-arrow firmware symbol as if it’s updating. After that, the screen goes completely black and never turns back on. This problem has affected hundreds of users across multiple platforms, including Meta’s own community forums, Reddit, and Discord groups. Everyone describes the same sequence: Meta logo, firmware arrow loading, then a permanent black screen. People have already tried every official fix that Meta recommends: Rebooting the headset. Performing a full hard reset using the power and volume buttons. Installing the manual firmware update through the Meta update tool on a computer. Even after completing all of these steps successfully, the headset remains unusable. The issue clearly points to a defective firmware update or a corrupted boot process caused by the update itself, not user error or damage. Some customers have received replacements, while others have been denied support because their device is out of warranty. That inconsistency is unacceptable. A firmware defect that originates from Meta should not depend on warranty status. This needs to be recognized as a widespread product issue. Meta should take responsibility, publicly acknowledge the problem, and provide free repairs or replacements to all affected customers. Everyone affected should post here and share: When the problem started and what update version it followed. Any videos or photos showing the black screen sequence. What Meta Support said or offered in response. If enough reports are collected, this could draw the attention of consumer protection agencies, the media, or legal firms willing to pursue a class action. The goal is not to complain, but to get a fair solution for everyone who has been left with a bricked headset due to a faulty update. This issue is not isolated. It’s widespread, and it needs to be addressed now.716Views3likes7CommentsCharging quest 2, turns on, shuts down, repeats endlessly
When charging my quest 2, it keeps turning on, loading with the meta logo, showing the powering off/shutting down loading screen, then turning off, about 5 to 10 second delay then repeat. This has been happening when I've been charging it for the past few days. If I unplug it, it stops but seems to be dead.Solved27KViews1like35CommentsBlack Screen of Death
Hi yall. My son's Meta Quest 3s crashed the other day, and since then, I have been following all the Meta steps to try and fix it. Unfortunately, I've exhausted all troubleshooting, rebooting, sideloading, and even factory resetting the device to no avail. I've tried the last step, which is contacting support, yet when putting in the serial number, "apparently" support isn't available for said device... I'm at my wits' end. A little context. This started on December 31, but I was able to fix it by charging for a couple of hours, and then all was grand. However, as of Jan 1 (AM), the same thing happened. Sometimes you can see the room, and then it flashes, and the black screen of death appears. I've tried EVERYTHING now... I'm going to assume this is a software issue, as if it were a hardware issue, I shouldn't be able to see the room now and again. Urg, kids had it just over a year, so the warranty is no longer in play. Any help that isn't mentioned on the META site would be appreciated. Thanks.41Views0likes1Comment
