My Creator Story: Maybe This Time I'll Finish
I've always been someone who starts things. Earlier this year, I tried Unity modding. I learned, I built, I got somewhere; but I couldn't close the gap between "in progress" and "done." It stayed unfinished, like so many projects before it. I've tried creating in Second Life, VRChat, Vroid, countless wrestling game character creators. But nothing stuck. Either the tools fought me, or it never felt like it was truly mine. Then in October, I started making clothing in Horizon Worlds. And something was different. I got addicted immediately. For the first time in a long time, I wasn't just starting something; I was finishing pieces. Designing them, releasing them, watching people actually wear what I made. Creating clothing made me want more. I wanted a place to sell from. So I'm building a store now ; but if I'm honest, it's becoming something bigger. The store is an excuse. What I'm really building is a world. Fiction and worldbuilding have always been my strengths, and I'm quietly weaving that into every corner of this project. The problem is: I'm doing this completely alone. I've always wanted to program, but my brain doesn't work well with code or math. I'm shy about meeting new people and even worse at maintaining relationships, so finding a partner or collaborator feels impossible right now. But I'm still going. I broke out my iPad and Apple Pencil and started drawing again. I'm learning scripting even though it doesn't come naturally. I'm making slow progress toward something I can't fully picture yet. I don't know what the finished version will look like. But for the first time in a while, I think I might actually close the door on something and call it complete. Maybe this time is different. https://www.facebook.com/BlackObsidianProtocol/82Views4likes2CommentsJanuary Clothing Themes Are Here!
Hi creators, we're excited to continue to offer creators the chance to showcase their incredible work! Themed Clothing Collections Since launching Themed Collections, we showcased 500+ clothing items from creators. For January, our spotlight themes are Love Link and Pajama Party. Items submitted (that fit these themes) by 01/05/2025 will be considered for a potential feature in any Meta Horizon promotions or recommendations. Love Link: Encourage users to celebrate Valentine's Day with romantic or polished outfits, or season-inspired trendy streetwear. For casual looks, suggest coquette styles for women and sporty vibes for men. Prioritize premium, highly detailed, and unique textures, including customized graphics and fabric details. Pajama Party: Emphasize a cozy, playful theme with expressive pajama styles. Use plush fabrics, fun original prints, and clear texture for a realistic, touchable feel. Focus on clarity and personality for oversized hoodies, quirky onesies, and slippers. Items should be cute, comfy, and collectible. How to Participate Create clothing based on one or both of these themes by 01/05/2026. Save Clothing with one of the hashtags in the description section when you create a new or edit an existing item listing: #lovelink #valentine or #pajamaparty The item must be opted in to be available ‘Outside your worlds’. Originality, high quality, and relevance to the theme are essential for all clothing.43Views2likes0CommentsGet Ready for the Holidays with Item Tiers, December Clothing Themes and more!
Hey creators, the holiday season is a wonderful time to welcome new and returning players to your world, and you don’t need to start from scratch to make it special—try updating your thumbnails, adding festive videos, and using holiday clothing templates to create a warm, seasonal atmosphere! We’ve put together a creator checklist to get you ready to sleigh this holiday season and don’t forget to check out the YouTube playlist of our past workshops, which is packed with helpful insights to guide you in creating, customizing, and sharing your world—so dive in, explore, and let your creativity shine! Understanding Item Tiers in Meta Horizon We know you want your digital items to shine and feel meaningful to your community. That’s why we’ve launched a tiering system to help everyone understand the value of each item at a glance. Every digital item—whether it’s free or paid—gets placed into one of four tiers: Common, Premium, Elite, or Legendary automatically based on things like how much effort or cost is needed to get the item, what it can do, and how rare it is. This helps players make informed choices and gives you a way to highlight your most special creations. While there are no additional actions required from you right now (as all of your items are automatically assigned a tier), here are some tips and best practices: Be consistent with your item details—changing things like cost or rarity can affect the tier and how players perceive your item. If you update an item to a higher tier, try to add something new or special so players feel the change is meaningful. Clearly communicate what makes your item unique, whether it’s earned through skill or available for purchase. Remember, the tiering system is here to help you build trust and excitement with your audience. If you have questions or want to learn more, check out best practices. We’re here to help you create experiences that feel rewarding for everyone! Psst: Also a reminder December Clothing Themes are open for submissions until 30th November.53Views2likes0Commentsclothing guardrails are inaccurate
in the clothing creation I am getting blocked from uploading my own texture file that I created, saying it goes against the rules. It is very kid friendly and no ip or anything. Meanwhile, the AI generator gave me something that looked like it said “bit**” on it. is there an approval process we could submit textures to bypass the system?Solved219Views2likes6CommentsAvatar Clothing turning Black
Hi, I attended the avatar clothing workshop earlier today and it was great! I was testing out some designs and listing them as items in my inventory. I was able to get the design on the fabric and listed, but when I click the item details all I see is black. Is this what's supposed to happen? I had a design with lots of colors but not seeing that on the clothing. Am I missing something here? Thanks for any help! Also forgot to mention the item is not showing up in the Systems > Commerce section after trying to import it into a world.***Solved185Views2likes5CommentsTrying to Understand Where I Went Wrong...
I've only been creating clothes for a couple days now. I spent some time creating an overalls set, but when I went to save it, I was given the error: "The item you created goes against our standards and guidelines and cannot be saved to your inventory". No further information was given or available, I read through guides I could find, and didn't see where I went wrong, so I would appreciate some insight. Thanks in advance for your time and communication! Wingnut154Views1like7CommentsAvatar Clothing Restriction- ERROR
I previously had a thread here that was closed as resolved regarding avatar clothing restrictions I was getting when importing my own textures. I was happy that most of those items were reviewed and released as acceptable. I still have some older items with the same issue that I believe are still under review. A few days ago, I built a store world and batched some new items. By mistake, I also included a few of the dresses that had been previously restricted and then later released. Those same dresses have now been tagged as restricted again, even though the issue was supposedly mitigated. I’m concerned because I thought the overall problem had been resolved. I appealed the items (just like before), but in under 30 minutes they were hit with the same AI restriction. This makes me believe there isn’t any human visual review happening. Please help me get this fixed not only for the older items, but also for my future ones. These items are holiday-themed, so timing is really important.95Views1like5CommentsDeeper insights and tools to grow and engage with your community

I can't seem to get my newest created avatar items to work when going to a world. I load in as a generic purple avatar. But my custom avatar items have published successfully and show up in my avatar preview when equipping with these items. Just fails when I go to a world. HELPSolved139Views1like6Comments
