⚔️ Spell Sword
Finally finished this project with this original combat mechanic designed as a mobile only game! It's a fantasy adventure turn-based RPG where you spell words to attack the enemy. Clear each floor to earn XP, more health, and of course LOOT! The game starts out easy while you familiarize yourself with the mechanic. Then you start earning armor and weapons to take on higher floors. Use potions to recover HP, and scrolls to summon up to 2 extra letters at a time. This progression system was by design made to be addictive and challenging tracking 4,700+ data points and a custom word engine using JSON files for precise adjustments to difficulty for the 3 player archetypes: casual gamer, the dedicated gamer who put in their time, and those gamers who choose to pay-to-win. Custom leaderboards use World Persistent Variables which allowed me not to track just scores, but also what words earned them their ranking (after filtering out 500 words to stay appropriate to general audiences). Hello! I'm Todd, AKA Scarcesoft. I've seen a few people asking about importing animated characters into Horizon Worlds, and while this isn't yet possible for us regular creators, I've developed some tooling which makes it possible to have Blender-animated characters in your world now which are nearly as good as the "real thing" within a few minutes or hours, depending on the complexity of your character. I've used this system to animate goblins, xenomorph-like aliens, spiders, and more. You can see examples in the playlist below. Within the next few days I'll be releasing the next series which will cover best practices for how to separate existing characters into parts in a way which doesn't make them look silly. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUvQxgmNxn_K_ldPvYo_6NdrK7b33ZSCp&si=gHeRxr9ZMeGFVoyH56Views2likes0CommentsDuck Duck Doom!
I've been working on a fun little game as my first project with typescript. Players try to be the last alive while a giant flaming rubber duck chases down victims. I'd love some feedback while I work on fleshing out some concepts and polish up the game! I'm Aisjam, and I'm looking forward to be part of the Creator Program. Thank you for having me. I've spent the last decade working in immersive technologies, mostly with Unity, and I've recently been exploring what’s possible in Horizon Worlds. I’ve been doing a few experiments and wanted to share one that combines psychological worldbuilding with large-scale testing. https://horizon.meta.com/world/9726743030747447 This world is inspired by real-world research from Sandia National Laboratories, where scientists explored how to deter future civilisations from approaching nuclear waste sites. Their solution wasn’t based on language but on shapes, materials, and emotional cues that create an atmosphere of dread and unease. So I built a massive, ominous environment, a 4km diameter circular map. Using a fully custom mesh to simulate that experience. It’s designed to feel wrong, empty, and imposing, without needing to explain itself. A few things I learned along the way: Tiling textures on large polygons fade or break down visually during the experience, so texture scaling and optimisation are crucial. The platform handles large spaces fairly well, though optimisation becomes increasingly important at this scale. I'm really happy with how the sense of scale and isolation came through, especially at the centrepiece. I also plan to bring in some of my synthesizer soundscapes to deepen the experience. Found its a struggle to import audio loops so did some sample stretching with the default ones. I've been creating ambient and atmospheric sounds that would fit perfectly in these types of speculative or unsettling environments so we will see what the future holds for sound on meta horizons. The world is now live if you’d like to check it out. I’d love any feedback, especially from those interested in, environmental storytelling, or experimental space design. Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing more creative ideas!468Views13likes1CommentChicken Flingers PvP
Chicken Flingers PvP is a fast-paced, chaotic multiplayer game where players launch themselves from cannons, glide across the map, and throw chickens at opponents in a hilarious free-for-all battle. With no timers and endless fun, it’s all about skillful flinging and high-flying mayhem! Launching March 21, 2025 in BETA for VR only, until I can put it fully in typescript with custom UI by mid-April. @https://www.instagram.com/purrkittyvr for video of gameplay while testing and prepare for the fun!343Views8likes2Comments
