Educator/student accounts / Unable to add Payment method
It seems I'm now required to add a payment method to set Oculus Quest 2 to Developer Mode. Is there any way for educators and students to bypass this? I shouldn't require students to add credit card numbers to learn how to develop for Oculus Quest 2 ...1.1KViews1like1CommentIs WebXR dom-overlay support hidden behind a feature flag?
Hi, I'm trying to use the WebXR `dom-overlay` feature. I've tried some online demos and turning on these Chrome flags: "WebXR Experiments" "Experimental Platform features" But no joy. Is this simply not supported? Is there any plan to support it? Thanks Wayne5.6KViews3likes10CommentsDeveloper Mode keeps getting disabled
I've been using to developer mode to use custom apps. But every reboot, it gets disabled. The developer settings in the system settings is still there, but USB Debugging doesn't work, and the unknown sources category is missing. When I go to the Oculus app on my phone, it shows that it got disabled. It's really annoying having to go to my phone everytime I reboot my Oculus just so that I can use developer mode. Is there a way to fix this?2.2KViews1like1CommentOculus quest 2 developer mode not working properly
Hello, Since yesterday 15:30 (AMS time) The developer hub app stopped working properly. I've done a total of 3 factory resets. I reinstalled all my accounts. Reinstalled every app on my computer for developing for the oculus. But the problem persists. The problem is: I connect the oculus through the usb cable to the computer. The hub detects it as usual. But 6 seconds into the future and it kicks the device right of the hub. It tells me: Device detected but unauthorized. Please put on your headset to confirm the USB Debugging dialog. Funny thing is, I allowed this already. I have to restart the device to see this window pop up again. It's on always allow for this computer. But the problem still persists. It kicks my device after exactly 6 seconds and I get the same message, over and over again. Lovely problem. Working already for 6 hours to resolve this problem, but can't seem to find anyone on any forum with the same problem. I haven't found a work around so if someone finds a solution or knows what is wrong please let me know. Just want to add that this is one of the worst devices I have worked with. Can't seem to get this device to work stable for development. Mark fix your company14KViews4likes6CommentsUnreal Engine github version not compatible with MetaXRPlatform plugin.
Hello, I'm sure I've done something wrong or missed something, but I'm trying to get my entitlement check working and I'm having a heck of a time. A bit of background: I've downloaded and compiled the latest Unreal Engine github fork I've built my project and it works and everything is compiling and happy I made a Game Instance blueprint I've tried to drag out an Entitlement pin, and Unreal Engine finds nothing. When I download the MetaXRPlatform (Version 65.0) The Engine starts up with this error: The 'OculusPlatform' plugin was designed for build 5.3.0. Attempt to load it anyway? and when I press Yes it gives me another error: The following modules are missing or built with a different engine version: OVRPlatform Engine modules cannot be compiled at runtime. Please build through your IDE. Do I need to compile something else somewhere? Please help! JPSolved5KViews1like8CommentsOculus 3 developer mode not working to show sideloaded apps
We have an app in the store and are trying to sideload a new version for a demo. It is saying we can't pirate the app. It is our app. When I uninstall it through the app store and side load it it does not show up in the installed app list. What can I do to fix this? We have some errors on the app store version and are trying to see if we have fixed it. We also have a presentation today and need to run the new version ASAP509Views0likes0CommentsUnable to toggle on Developer Mode (Quest 3)
Our organization is looking to develop content for Quest and purchased 12 Quest 3 headsets for testing. Upon setting up meta accounts for each headset, adding each to our developer organization, and verifying the accounts, we are unable to toggle on developer mode for the headsets. The option used to be on the headsets themselves, but we no longer see it at all. The iOS Meta Horizon app shows a link to a guide on getting our organization set up, rather than the toggle-able option to enable developer mode. We've already completed the steps in this guide. Has anybody else encountered this issue? After speaking to two different departments in Meta/Oculus, I was given the link to this forum to receive "further support", I'm not sure if that meant from community members that resolved this issue, or from staff in here.1.4KViews0likes3CommentsSideloaded files are not accessible on Quest device until after restart
Posting here as it has to do with Quest devices with developer mode/usb debugging enabled to sideload files. When sideloading videos to a Quest device, a video is not accessible to apps like Meta Quest TV or others (Skybox, Play'a, etc) until after the device is restarted. Further, files/images, are not accessible on the Meta Quest Files app as well initially after sideloading. The only resolution is to restart the device to make the files appear. Device details: Device: Quest 3 Quest OS version: 68.0.0.596.362 System version: 50111700065800510 Device: Quest Pro Quest OS version (PTC): 69.0.0.303.335 System version: 50436710027900330 I'm able to replicate this on Quest Pro and 2 as well.464Views1like0CommentsOculus Rift S developer Mode
