Render to only one eye
Hello, I'm after a bit of information about who I should try contacting regarding making VR less GPU wasteful for my particular situation. I'm blind in my right eye so I was hoping that there could be a driver level option maybe that would allow users to say "hey, as much as I'd love 2 working eyes, it would be real nice if I can just render a black image to the right eye and benefit from better FPS in the left". I get that stereoscopic is better, given the choice, but for me it's not a choice I have so I may as well benefit from improved frame rates or better image quality. I was born blind in one eye so I've had plenty of time getting used to lack of depth perception, however, I can still take visual cues from surrounding environment on a virtual race track to know when to out brake you  Back on track though (pun intended), would it be a driver level (pun unintended) development, or maybe SteamVR? Something where we do not have to rely on every game studio to provide it as an option, instead we can just set it and forget it at lower level. I have a degree in games programming, so I'd be happy to get my fingers dirty if I was pointed in the right direction, if Oculus isn't prepared to implement something like this. The title should be self-explanatory; My oculus software is detecting my USB 3.0 cable(the Anker one that was recommended before the official link cable) and USB 3.0 port as USB 2.0. I've gone and tried to update my drivers, including uninstall/reinstall, to no avail. Any suggestions for a fix? For reference, both my Quest and PC are running the latest versions, and my PC is link compatible.109KViews3likes55CommentsSteam Link not working with Quest 3
Update 2024: It has been fixed for me and steam link now works even with older AMD drivers. It work very well even, I prefer to use it over airlink or Virtual Desktop. Steam link is not working for me. I have steam open, when I click "connect" on my headset steam link app I get "host not responding" error 200. When I start SteamVR on my PC manually first, then click "connect" on my steam link app in the headset I get a window saying "Stream initializing", "Connecting to host PC is taking longer than usual..." The app tells me the headset is paired, airlink is working fine. Does anyone else have issues?35KViews5likes23CommentsADB Driver Not Downloading Correctly
Hello, I apologize if this is a duplicate. Basically, when I go to install the drivers on my computer, the folder comes through but the zip file does not so I am unable to extract and install. It just shows a standard folder titled oculus-go-adb-driver-2.0 but again the zip is not underneath as I have seen pictured in many tutorials. Any help here is greatly appreciated thank you. EDIT: Additional details. I am using Google Chrome (fully updated), Windows 10, Lenovo ThinkPad, and Windows Defender.644Views1like0Comments
