Security fail with Unity 6 preview - Quest 2 app won't start.
Hi, After upgrading a Meta Quest VR project from Unity 22.3.44f1 to Unity 6 Preview 6000.0.17f1, I get problems from the Meta Quest Dashboard. After uploading to the store it fails in the security test/validation and app cannot be started in the headset. It seems Meta Quest Dashboard considers Unity 6 preview old, unsafe and exposed to DoS attacks. Version 6000 > 2022 so I don’t understand what could be triggering this. I tried several times to switch between 2022.3.44 and Unity 6 preview and the result is always the same. With 2022.3.44 it always passes and app starts normally, with Unity 6 preview, it always fails and the app won’t start. (Though it updates like normal in the headset). So I don’t know for sure this is causing the app not to start in the headset, but the security fail should definitely not be there. Anyone have an idea around this or if a fix is coming?936Views0likes1CommentMeta Avatar load fails with 'Failed to retrieve Avatar Specification' when using Federated User Ids
As of the 15th February 2023 Meta avatars being loaded using Federated UserIds as specified in the Cross-Play section of the documentations will not load. I get the following errors: [ovrAvatar2 native] stats::url file transfer failed: http response code: 500 [ovrAvatar2 native] specification::Failed to retrieve Avatar Specification for user id 535713845439867 This was working fine just yesterday so I assume something has changed in the backend to cause this problem. This isn't the first time we've had problems using the Federated User Id system and its making it hard to justify keeping Meta Avatars in our product.Solved5.6KViews1like6Comments"Application Fails the 'TestSdkVersion' VRC Validator Check
Hey everyone, I'm looking to fix a bug for submission that has to do with the VRC Validator check. I have found the documentation here: https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/pcsdk/latest/concepts/dg-vrcvalidator/ And am trying to test my app now. When using the GUI or command line, I either get a "failed to launch app" (if not starting the app before running) or a "Failed to create a session" when starting the game and then running the validator. Is there something I'm missing in code that the validator is looking for? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!923Views0likes2CommentsUploading a video to Facebook not possible. Laughable for a Facebook device.
Nothing works. NOTHING works to upload a video recorded with my Quest to ANY service - like Google Photos, ofc Facebook, Youtube ... A Facebook device that cannot upload its own recorded videos to Facebook. Laughable. Seriously. This is really lame work. My Quest software got broken after the last update (yep, GJ devs) and all videos recorded with my Quest are playing fine on Oculus Gallery but once copied to the PC appear as 0.00.00 lenght (correct Mb size tho), but cannot be played. Workaround : connect your Oculus Quest to your Android device using an USB C to regular USB phone dongle. Browse the video from the Quest with your phone and copy it to your phone. Then just upload it to youtube, whatsapp, etc using your phone. Anyway Oculus, I'd apreciate you fixing your things. Hi folks, my first submission to Oculus failed in spectacular fashion. Now there are of course bug notes provided. But none of these bear any resemblence to my own testing of the game on my Galaxy S6 in the Gear VR headset. For example all of the bug notes state that thegame simply dosen't run at all on their test devices and instead displays an Unreal logo. When I fire the app up on my device it works perfectly and I've never ever seen an Unreal Logo on mine. Any advice on how to even get to the same test conditions would be greatly appreciated. Hey there, anyone else getting "installation failed" on the main Oculus app? I can get to the Oculus store front, but half of the apps don't work any more. I just purchased Minecraft VR and it won't install at all. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling & that didn't change anything. Samsung S6 Edge, no root. Thanks5.3KViews0likes4Comments
