Orion - AR - Driving - Eye tracking - Glare
Feature Request: A big problem with driving especially during sunrise, sunset and night driving is the driver being blinded by harsh incoming lights. These can be distracting or dangerous. The Orion prototype is well positioned with its external cameras and eye tracking to measure environmental glare and generate pixels to block some of the incoming light. Imagine being able to put on a pair of Orion glasses prior to driving a car on winding, two-lane roads at night time. Other drivers intermittently strain your night vision as you are looking for animals along the side of the road. With this feature in place, the Orion glasses could significantly dampen the incoming light allowing you to maintain your concentration on the road. Similarly, I believe there is a large opportunity providing context-dependent, information on demand. This could be a heads up display of maps while driving to searching for similar parts in a mechanics workshop or even providing interactive training where surgeons could be remotely assisted.630Views0likes1CommentAllow predefined HTML attribute in <video> tag to define video as 2D / 3D and 180VR /360VR
I have a small website with VR Videos that are exclusively for Oculus devices. The video-clips are emmbedded with video-Tag. HTML Code: <video controls> <source src="video.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> Everytime the user has to select manually the following parameter. 3D-Side by Side, 180°VR or 360°VR. It would be awesome, if Meta can introduce a custom html attribite to video tag to preselect. Eg. HTML Code: <video controls> <source vrangle="180" vrmode="3DSide" src="video.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> Or with better naming 🙂 Thank you.1.2KViews2likes1CommentOption To Disable Oculus Dash
I'm sure this has been posted many times before, but that's part of why I'm posting this as well. I want the developers to hear this as much as possible. Many users, myself included, have had a lot of performance issues since the release of Core 2.0 due to the Oculus Dash. I can personally confirm that the Dash process consistently uses 25 to 30% of my CPU. Processing time that I desperately need back for my games to perform like they used to. Please, Devs. Give us an option to disable the Dash feature. I barely use it, and it severally impacts my ability to play my favorite games. I know a lot of users enjoy it, so I'm not asking you guys to get rid of it completely. Just please give us a way to turn it off, for the players who's PCs aren't quite up to handling that extra CPU load.1.3KViews1like0CommentsRequest to Oculus: Per-SDK documentation search
I have a small problem, and this has made me realize a large problem with the Oculus website and documentation. My small problem is that I need to know how to get the screen size when using the Oculus C++ mobile SDK. I think, I will look in the documentation. I look at the Mobile SDK Documentation and the Mobile Reference Guide. But: Both of these guides are very large, with many sub-pages. I cannot look through them all. There is a "search" button at the top of the site. But it searches the entire site— every guide, for every platform, plus the entire forum. If I search for "screen size" or "width" it will hit too much stuff to be useful. (In fact if I search for "screen size" I find how to get the screen size when using Unity on Desktop. But not C++ on Mobile.) I have a request: There should be a way to limit a search on the Oculus website to just a part of the site (Say, a single subtree of the "outline" sections with the > V icons in the left side bar), or just to a single guide. It is possible to search within a single category of the forum, but not a single part of the website… (It might? also solve my problem if I could somehow download individual guides. If I could download for example the Mobile Reference Guide I could maybe? use an offline program such as grep to search within i. But there does not seem to be a download.)629Views0likes1CommentEnterprise/Business Functionality ? (Kiosk / Demo mode)
Bonjour à tous, / Hi ! [EN] First satisfactory returns on the Oculus Go. But ... Are there any solutions to customize the Oculus Home? Automatic start of applications at the exit of standby or at startup? A mode without Controller? All these small features that would suit a simple 360 video viewing / virtual tour application without too much customer interaction for example. In response to another post @imperativity post although the Oculus Go is customer centric (consumer-centric) and is not made for the Enterprise (at launch ?!) and it's a little pity ...! It would just take a few features to restrict / isolate the vast Oculus environment to deliver concrete business experiences. When will Enterprise / Business features? Go Oculus, we wait for them, we count on you! Oculus Go aims to democratize VR. Yesterday we had 1 or 2 VR headset, on a showroom for example, today it's possible to put as much VR as we have espace on the room. This is the strength of this solution, we need to have the tools to offer an interesting experience to customers. _______________________ Related posts : https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/64881/demo-mode-for-go https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/comment/622656#Comment_622656 _______________________ [FR] Premiers retours satisfaisants sur l’Oculus Go. ~ TL828Views1like0Comments
