New Meta AI app causing Meta Ray-Ban Display to have less battery than before
I'm on the latest Android update and ever since the new Meta AI app update from last week, my Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses have been dying much faster than before the update. I'll use the glasses for about half of my workday (8am to 12pm) and they'll already be at 15% to dead. And this is without using any audio features and light display usage. Normally, I could use the glasses for my entire workday (8am to 5pm) and be left with at least 20% if not 30%. And that's after heavy music/audio usage (I have "Hey Meta" turned off as well, for reference). I'm on OnePlus Open and I've heard similar things. I hope others can post their experience as well and perhaps get some feedback to devs to fix this. I found a pair of Meta glasses at the beginning of the year, and I would like to find the owner. I'm just not sure how at this point. I've tried contacting support and the automated chat said it'd send the info I have to the support team. But is there any other way someone might know of to find the owner information with the glasses? im a tour guide, so i mostly have people out of state/country on my tours so posting on local forum could be a dead end. I am in a location where a lot of locals visit, the spot they were makes be believe it was someone who took my tour but I contacted all of them and no one said they forgot anything. My new Meta Vanguard sunglasses (one day old) won't charge. I'm getting a constant flashing red LED, even though the case is fully charged (green LED). l've cleaned the contacts and tried a factory reset, but no change. Hello Everyone, I have 2 pair of the Meta Display Glasses. One pair black and one brown pair. When I add the black pair to my phone and use them the Meta AI pretty much always answers the questions I ask. However, when I add the brown pair to my phone I get the same answer of "I can't help with that yet but im learning more everyday" message for everything no matter what I ask. I'm using the same phone with the same Meta AI app but the experience is completely different on each of the glasses. The black pair I get answers for weather, temperature, navigation pretty much everything I ask. But when I set up the brown pair of glasses to the same phone and ask the exact same questions I get the generic message of "I can't help with that yet but im learning more everyday" as the answer for all questions. I have checked the app permissions and have given permission for everything it's asking for. The app is completely unrestricted. Does anyone have any idea what's going on with this brown pair of Meta Display Glasses? I've two pair of RayBan meta gen2 "Headliner + Wayfarer", and few days ago the Headliner start the issue and today also the Wayfarer. Each is connected to a different phone with different setups, but now both RayBan, when asked to play the just received WhatsApp voice message, they are muted, like they are playing a mute message... It never happened before, all the audio commands and speakers works good on other applications... We reset both glasses, reconnect, ans troubleshooting but nothing changes... I had gotten Meta Ray Ban Display (w/ prescriptions) as a birthday present and have been enjoying them for a long time, especially after the V23 update. However, today, when I went and turned them on, it wasn't working properly. The LED light wasn't working, the in-lens display wasn't showing, wasn't connecting to my smartphone via Bluetooth, and all I can hear is a sound effect when I tap the touchpad. Force restarting and factory resetting didn't work as the LED light is NOT working. I appreciate it if someone has a working solution to this problem. So just bought a pair of the Oakley meta HSTN less than 2 weeks ago. They were doing fantastic. Then I forgot about them for a couple days and left them laying next to the case, not in it. I picked them up and got the little red led flash on the side of the glasses. So I put them in the case and to my surprise, it flashed green. Ok, pulled them back out and now there is no red light, or any light coming from the glasses. I have tried cleaning both the glasses and the case. I’ve tried hard resetting the case and the glasses. I’ve tried force restarting the glasses as well as simply cycling the power switch. I put the glasses in the case it would turn green. I somehow managed to get the glasses to re-pair to my phone (with no lights indicating anything). And the app showed 100% on both the glasses and the case? HOW?! They were literally just dead. So, ai supports says “ahh it’s just a charging issue”. Ya think so do ya, Jim Dandy? Well which one of the steps that I’ve literally already done do you want me to do again?! Change the earpiece orientation? Done that too. These things were great until they died….ONCE! I mean hell, why not just use some triple A’s in them since the rechargeable battery doesn’t seem to be rechargeable? So I just turned the power switch off and put them back in the case….. With the power switch turned off, the case shows the orange charging light…. And has shown it for 2 hours now. Still, no lights, no life. I expected more from brands like Oakley and Meta. Dear Meta, This is not a small request, but it has become a significant problem. I have no issue at all with supporting small creators and encouraging them to add their games to the store. However, not long ago, those games were placed in a separate section, the “App Lab.” Now all of these games have been added alongside the regular titles, and the store is filled with cheesy AI slop. It’s genuinely off-putting to browse. I appreciate that you’re trying to make the UI look more advanced in the latest firmware, but if you allow the app store to be flooded with low-budget, extremely uninviting games, new users who are unaware that these two stores have been merged won’t think, “Wow, there are so many new games.” They’ll think, “Why are there so many awful games?” My honest reaction was: “Meta has given up. They’re going bankrupt, and this is a last-ditch effort to make the library look actively updated.” Please, for the love of god, do not ever mix these games with regular titles again. There should be a button that says “Show community games,” and new users should be made aware that they can enable it, but it should absolutely not be enabled by default. That would be a huge mistake. Right now, it just looks horrid. What happened to the Ouya? The exact same thing. Their final move was to flood the store with cheap slop to make it look full again, and then they went bankrupt. Do you actually want VR to grow? A lot of people have heard of VR and only tried mobile VR cardboard. But when I show them the Quest, they’re immediately hooked. Get more local stores to run demos. Let high schools get involved with VR, those are the target group. But for the love of god, don’t overflow your app store with soulless games in a desperate effort to boost sales. And off-topic: thankfully, you re-enabled APK installation again, thank you for that. I love tinkering with my device. If you’re afraid of losing game sales due to piracy, implement better security checks so ripped games won’t run. But don’t take away the freedom to install HLVR mods, Quake, or other 2D APKs. Those apps are what make the Quest twice as exciting. Anyway, I really hope you reconsider this. It has gotten so bad that I’m buying fewer games simply because I can’t find the good ones anymore. I recently purchased the Ray Ban Gen 2. I love them, however. There is a list of things I do not like, The audio that comes out of the speaker rattles at a low frequency. It begins at 50% percent than stays like that, doesn't get worse because as you push for full volume, you seem to lose all the low end and focus more on the mid and upper range frequency. It actually sounds louder and fuller at 50% volume than it does at 100%. As for the bass, all you hear is a rattle from the low frequency. Even with voices. I do enjoy the stereo field you guys created. I can focus on song mixes at a low volume. If you guys can update the way the audio is being output with some kind of firmware that cleans up how the speakers receive the sound. That could fix that issue. I would also like to add that when you tell META to add information to the MEMORY section. Most of the time, it is mistaken for setting a REMINDER. That should be a problem that should be fixed, as well as META responding back to when it actually says that it has updated the memory with that information, but when you look back into the Settings and check in the Memory section, it is not updated. And if it is setting reminders, its not reminding me regardless of using other connected apps that would if i input that data. I would like for META AI app to be the main source of memory, documents, and reminders etc.. The average battery life for the glasses is 3-4 hours. They also seem to heat up easily when using Live AI for quite a bit of time. Anyways, awesome product! I have my Vanguard glasses paired to my Garmin Fenix 8. During a run I ask Meta how far I’ve run and the answer is get is something like 770,000 miles! My pace, duration, and heart rate are correct. I’ve tried many variations of the question, such as “how far have I run today” or “how far have I run during my current activity” and I get the same answer.
