Meta Quest Link Update: Link Launch Issue Resolved
Hi everyone, We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem. What’s changed: The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected. Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual. Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.8.2KViews13likes153CommentsFIXED: Quest 3 Locked After Setting Password Instead of PIN - NO Reset Needed
Problem: I accidentally set a password (e.g., "Meta Quest") using the hidden Android settings on my Meta Quest 3. After that, the headset asked for a PIN, not a password -- and there was no way to type letters. It looked like a factory reset was the only way out. Solution (No Factory Reset!): You can unlock your Quest and reset the passcode using the Meta Quest mobile app, even if the headset is stuck at the PIN screen. Step-by-Step: 1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone (Android or iPhone). 2. Make sure the app is connected to your locked Quest headset. 3. Tap Menu > Devices > Headset Settings. 4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Passcode. 5. The app will prompt you to enter a PIN -- but it only shows a number pad, so you can't type your password here... yet. Workaround: 6. In another app on your phone (like Chrome, Notes, etc.), type your actual password -- for example: Meta Quest 7. Copy the password to your clipboard. 8. Go back to the Meta Quest app's PIN entry screen. 9. Paste your full password into the PIN textbox (yes, even though it shows a number pad). 10. Hit Enter -- your Quest will immediately unlock, and you can now set a proper 4-digit PIN. 100 percent working on Meta Quest 3. No factory reset needed. No debug mode. No PC. Just the Meta app plus this trick. Hope this helps others!2.2KViews1like5CommentsWhy do you make airlink?
You are a billion dollar company who regularly gets their lunch eaten by a $20 app (if you're reading this just buy 'virtual remote desktop' and stop using meta). Today you patched airlink so that while it is running you CANNOT leave oculus home. cant double tap the headset for passthrough to the UI, just a message that says "you can resume" but I cant resume because oculus home has crashed for one of the 100's of reasons, but thanks this UI oversight I am trapped in the HMD. Nice job folks. Zero features, zero new QOL tools, zero HMD side debug tools. Nothing of value added, and again a worse experience. So to the 'moderators' whose best advice is submit feedback through the app, i cant it crashes because Meta sucks at their job.51Views0likes1CommentHeadset is registering stick movement that isn't there
This is tricky to explain, but here it goes. my left quest 3 controller was registering movement up and to the left. No matter what i did, any game i played would move me forward and left (NNW) at full speed. So, I figured the controller had broke. No biggie, I'll order a new one. As soon as I place the order, I remember I can switch my movement to the right stick so at least I can play certain games with little to no issue! So I do that. Now my right controller controller movement. Aaaand my right controller says forward movement to the left. My controllers are apparently fine? And its my headset that's bugging and registering movement from the controllers that isn't there. Because when I switch movement from one stick to another, the other controller stops registering any input when not used. Hope this makes sense, also help? Can I just do something internally to my quest or is it broke.144Views1like9CommentsHand Tracking menu ruins game play
The first thing people do with hand tracking is look at their hands. The second thing they do is touch their fingers. Then Quest shuts down the game; because that's the hand gesture Meta chose as an 'escape' key. I encourage players to see/feel their hands in the experience because it is so much more enjoyable and immersive. Literally the entire point of mixed reality. This menu punishes all that fun with a distracting, overly sensitive button that apparently cannot be disabled. But can it be delayed? Ideally, the icon would not appear until after touching (and holding) thumb/finger together for 2 seconds, then become active (similar to holding controller's menu button down to reset view). I understand Quest "needs" an escape gesture, but not if it constantly interrupts everything. Anyone else dealing with this? Found another solution or workaround?2.1KViews5likes6CommentsAMD Encoder's 100Mbps Cap
Hello everybody, as you can see from the screenshot above, AMD fixed in their last driver 23.2.2 the problem with their encoders when going over 100Mbps. Full release notes here: AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.2.2 Release Notes | AMD If i remember correctly, meta has hard capped the bitrate to 100 for AMD cards, so i tried to play a little with the settings after updating the drivers (i have a 6800xt) and can confirm, even if i push fixed 200Mbps from the oculus dashboard (with airlink), I'm still capped at 100Mbps. If anyone from Meta's team is reading this, please consider updating and let us use higher bitrates. It may be that AMD's user are a minority in the VR world, but we are still here.
