New Quest 3 locked on software update, impossible to fix.
Hi guys, I bought my first Quest 3 today. When I turned it on, it started a software update but it gets stuck there — the device keeps turning on and off without completing the update, and I can’t get past that screen. I haven’t even set up my Meta Horizon account yet, and since I didn’t purchase my Quest 3 through the official Meta store, when I try to enter my device’s serial number on the website it gives me an error. I tried doing the sideload update (the only fix I found on the internet) by holding the volume down and power buttons on the Quest 3. But when I select my device in the browser, I get a message saying: “your device is not supported, please try reconnecting your devices.” Weird cause both my PC and Chrome are detecting it as Quest 3. I also tried disabling adblock, deleting caché and cookies, incognito mode, other browsers, other PCs, other cables, connecting it on different times, etc. There is not a single thing I haven't tried. (Every single one of these attempts were done while having 50% battery. There’s nothing else I can do, literally — I’ve already tried factory reset several times as well. Do I need to return my device? I'm submitting this post so support can help me. I have been playing bobber bay fishing for a bit and each time I go to store to buy something, it won't show the information on the store screen and I can't buy anything. I click on an item and nothing comes up for information on item. I can not buy anything in there. The players that where on last night where having the same issue. I have uninstalled horizon world and bobber bay fishing several times to see if that changes anything, with no luck. I need help. My draw pattern was changed not so recently and I know a factory reset would fix this BUT, I have applications that are not obtainable as the apk installer that's native to Android was removed and means I wouldn't be able to download them again without external devices which I've not have access to. I'm able to give any proof that I own the account and devices linked to it. I DESPERATLY need my draw pattern to be either; Changed - If it were changed to my old draw pattern I would be able to continue use regularly like it was before Removed - If it was removed in exchange for changed it would help me the way if it were changed would. If either of these aren't possible I'm just going to have to abandon my headset as it took me too long to get all of those things and it would drain me to just lose it all in a whim. And again. hey so i’ve used a free trial for a game called “Toss” a while ago and decided to purchase the full game a day ago and i’ve gotten an error saying that my free trial has ended for the game and that I need to purchase the full game to play it, when i’ve already bought it. When I click the “Purchase” option it takes me to the “Toss” app store page where it says “Launch” and when I click it I get the error so I’m basically thrown into a loop so I am very confused. I’ve tried clearing my cache, and data on the game and reinstalled it too but the issue is persisting and I’ve used a free trial on another game and have had the same free trial issue. Hi. Developing in Unity. When running in standalone Quest 2 I get random pixel glitches mostly at the right display of the Quest2. This is not my capture, but this guy had the same problem and mine looks exactly the same: Streamable Video Quest 2 Standalone Hand tracking Unity 2020.3.26f1 Render pipeline URP. 10.8.1 Oculus XRPlugin 1.11.2 Graphics API GLES 3 The failure is random. Sometimes it is shown, other times it is absent. The optimizations seem to help but do not solve the problem. Tested different scenes, different unity project version, with different shaders and not solved. Just a medium/high demand on the GPU seems to make the glitch to be shown. Tested in 3 different headsets (MQ2) The problem doesn't seem to appear using Link, but I'm not completely sure. It started appearing after updating the MQ2 software. A couple of years ago I developed an app made for Quest 2, which showed some high quality 360 videos. Together with one of the latest OS updates, came some sort of graphical glitch (mainly stuttering). Specifically, it appears while the 360 videos are playing. The videos are played with a VideoPlayer that renders them on a render texture in the correct resolution. This specific render texture is used as texture for a skybox material I added to the scene. The videos are 8192x4096 and follow the Meta guidelines . I'm currently working with Unity 2022.3.3f1 , but I'm updating it soon to the latest LTS. I'm also using the settings as suggested by the Oculus Integration Plugin. Given that the issue started showing up after a Meta software update, my best guess would be that I need to update something in the quality settings, but I haven't found any solution yet. I also tried to build an older version of my app, from a year ago, when there was no stuttering, but the issue now appears also in that version. Using unity 2021.0.6b I believe. Upgrading to 2021.10 to see if that helps. Then next ill try loweing vulkan below openGL in settings. It's weird. My custom splash screen that shows title that covers the whole screen is fine when it starts then once that's gone the view is like 50 tiny screens of the same camera view. It's fine when viewing in playmode. On build it does this though. I did a build a while back and it was fine then. Not sure what the deal is. Tried ARM64 and ARM7. Using XR plug in. Quest 2. Using vrsideloader for the moment, that shouldn't matter though it's what I used last time I did a build that had worked.905Views0likes0CommentsOculus Browser and Streaming audio error glitch sound static
Here's what's happening The audio of the Oculus Browser is getting all glitched out IF the browser is in "Fullscreen VR" mode and the sound is distorted ONLY on the streaming (Not tested without Fullscreen, sound might not work at all) PLEASE NOTE The audio works on the browser Mozilla Experience, but the website wasn't made for Mozilla Experience, so I have a problem either way. Fixing Oculus browser seems the logic option. Hi everyone, I am using Unity 5.3.4p1 with EasyWebViewTexture for Android, everything was fine when testing my app on Android 5.x, but after I upgrade my galaxy s6 edge to Android 6.0 right eye always freezes, like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VBKz7_MDjQ . However, if I take off my headset and take it on again, right eye rendering works again (at least for a while) It happens the same when I press multitasking button and back to the app in VR development mode.
