Uncertain Graphics Card Compatibility
Just upgraded from an old sluggish laptop with a Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics card to a i7 Dell Laptop, purely with the intention to get a much better gaming experience in VR. But, only to discover that the Nvidia Quadro T2000 GPU, is not compatible with the air link. With it working on my last I assumed it would work with this. I've seen suggestions that Quadro T2000 isn't a high enough spec, but how is true if it can run on other lower spec GPU's and other Nvidia GPU similar to the T2000? Meta only state a hand full of compatible GPU's on their website, making it impossible to know what other GPU's are compatible. This is meant to be a user-friendly experience for almost everyone, I shouldn't be gambling on whether I can connect to airlink.668Views0likes0CommentsQuestions about stable FPS and recommended specs
Hi there, We got some feedback requiring our Unity game to perform at 90 fps on Rift and 80 fps on Rift S; is it required to perform at this level for all quality settings? The graphics options in the game enable to player to choose between different graphical qualities (from low to ultra) and can toggle various camera effects (anti-aliasing, bloom, SSAO, etc.). So do we need to ensure that a solid 90/80fps framerate for both the lowest possible quality settings as well as for the highest possible quality settings? Also regarding the recommended PC specs, it mentioned it needs to be a solid framerate for an AMD 290/GTX 970; how can we ensure this without having these specific PC parts as we are just a small indie company? Do we just need to buy these and test on them? Or can we just change these recommended specs to some more powerful GPUs (e.g. GTX 1070) or is that too high to recommend for an Oculus Store App? And again, is performance to be measured on the lowest/highest quality settings? Any help is appreciated!810Views0likes0CommentsBlack Friday Deals. DO I GET IT!?
Hi Guys, So i get my rift on Sunday (Que girlish screams), but i need a new GFX card! I've been holding out for black Friday... So. The 3 models i have had my heart set on are the Asus RoG Strix series in either the 1070, 1070ti, or the 1080. Obviously i want a 1080 (or even a 1080ti) but money is a factor. Here are my two questions: 1. Is there a huge diference between a 1070 vs a 1080? The benchmarks all say about 25% extra power, but is that really noticeable in the rift? 2. There is a deal for the RoG Strix 1070 cards for £50 cheaper than normal. Do a pull the trigger or wait for Black Friday day Any opinions would be amazing!825Views0likes1CommentOculus Rift DK2 is not installing because of Update Your Graphics Card Drive

What CPU will work best with my Nvidia GeForce GTX 980. Haswell or Skylake? Keep in mind I just blew a month's worth of pay on my current setup plus the Rift so I'm not looking to spend too much. Right now I'm running an i5-2400. The cheapest of the i5's. Not sure if it's bottlenecking or not but I still want something at least Haswell to complement the GPU and use it's full potential. Is it worth the $200+ upgrading or will I not even notice the difference?2.4KViews0likes7Comments
