Hi, I want to view the output of my video processing board (Xilinx Zynq SoC or 7-series FPGA) on the rift. I power the rift with a power bank and send the OU stereo video feed directly via HDMI to the VR headset. So I'm not actually using any of the motion or head tracking stuff. There is also only the rift involved so no PC, Oculus home, SDK, whatsoever. I only want display HDMI feed and maybe also use the headphones by encoding audio in HDMI signal. My problem is that once I put on the headset the rift won't activate the screens. Is there any special resolution or data encoding format or refresh rate required on the HDMI connection in order to accept my feed? Is there some initialization sequence necessary via USB to activate the displays within rift? Regards, Ion1.2KViews0likes2CommentsIs Oculus Rift HDMI content HDCP protected by default?
Hi, First post to the forum... I'm building a hardware box that passes HDMI data through it. I'm using an FPGA development board for prototyping, and I've been able to successfully pass 4k60 video through it from my AppleTV, so the FPGA board has more than enough bandwidth to handle Oculus Rift video data. Yet, nothing shows up on the Oculus Rift headset when I connect things up. (The Rift works fine when connected directly to my PC.) I wondered if the Oculus Rift video content might be HDCP protected. Does anyone know? I don't have HDCP IP instantiated in the design yet and was hoping to deal with that later. For now, I am just trying to get the basic video connection established. I have succesfully connected the DK2 with Runtime 0.8. However, when using the newest Oculus Setup, the DK2 is not recognized and the following error appears: 'You're headset's HDMI cable isn't plugged in. Please plug in your headset.'. Rebooting the DK2, the computer, and changing the settings to allow unknown sources does not help. Running the demo of the windows 1.13 SDK gives, for that reason I guess, also the error that there is no HMD found. Other information: - Windows 10 - I tried it on a laptop with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 M and on a computer with NVIDIA GTX 1050 Any suggestions or solutions?1.1KViews0likes1Comment
