When I try to enter Meta Connect, another window shows up prompting me to download. However, it is stuck on "Installing..." and I can't join. Also, the reviews seem to be different than the regular download page. How can I fix this?Solved320Views1like17CommentsMeta Horizon Worlds does not work on v79.1030 for Quest Pro
I am on build 5092736.7500.340, V79.1030 on the Quest Pro. Meta Horizon Worlds does not work on this build. When starting the app, it initially starts fine, but once it gets past the initial loading screen, it takes me to a blue rectangle on a black background for about 30 seconds, then it loads into the default world but at around 1 frame per 10 seconds. It is just a slideshow, not exaggerating. The actual quest UI and everything else is completely fine and responsive, it's just Horizon Worlds itself doing this. It's super broken on this build. Anyone else got the same issue? I did clear the cache etc too, didn't make a difference.406Views0likes12CommentsWhy has Horizon Worlds become so buggy??
OK, I looked to see if anyone has posted about this. Over the past three weeks, this app has gotten BIG TIME buggy. I don't know if this is because of a software update or what, but it needs to be fixed because the platform is becoming unplayable. Worlds like Bunky's, Gatsby's, Earthbound Cosmic Beach, etc constantly crash and kick players out. The lag in some of these worlds is absurd - even when only 30 people are in the world, the lag makes gameplay impossible because the physics get all jacked up. The Horizon Worlds dashboard takes forever to load thumbnails, making browsing for Worlds a battery vampire. Because we're constantly getting kicked out of worlds that crash, half our headset battery life is spent on load screens returning to worlds. Other players I've discussed this with have experienced delays on rewards/points updates, or profile pics not showing up on in-world scoreboards. At Bunky's, knocking over all the bowling pins - even when the throw is dead center down the lane - won't count as a strike. Another time, I threw straight down the lane and the two right-most pins tipped over then froze, so it didn't count as a strike. The laser pistol is ungrabbable half the time, making it impossible for us to play target practice. I originally thought it was a problem with my headset and/or internet connection; but I've mentioned these issues to at least five or six other people and they ALL report similar problems in the past few weeks. A few nights ago, Bunky's crashed completely two different times, kicking everyone out. Other times, clicking to visit a world in the dashboard will make the chime, but won't actually DO anything. Yet other times, attempting to visit a world will cause Horizon Worlds OVERALL to crash and put me back at my "home virtual environment." I realize this tech is still pretty new, but this is patently absurd for a corporation this large. I've had my Quest 2 since 2023 and NEVER had a single issue playing Myst, Riven, Brinks Traveler, Ocean Rift, Richie's Plank Challenge, etc. I started playing Worlds about two months ago, and for the first month and a half, it may have crashed once. Now it crashes several times a night. So what gives??44Views0likes0CommentsPCVR Horizon Worlds won't launch
Since the last Oculus PC app update a few days ago I can't launch Horizon worlds through the PC link cable. I click the game (either through the quest or on screen with the mouse) and the launch screen opens but a second or so later it closes with no error message. I can still run the game on the quest without PC link and if I go to the PC Horizon worlds folder I can launch the game in pancake mode but for some reason it won't play in VR through the app. I've updated windows 10 and GPU drivers to the latest versions. Any ideas how I can overcome this? Alternatively, as it only occurred since the last update and is limited to the Oculus PC app I'm guessing the issue lies there, but is there a command I can add to the Horizons.exe to force it to launch in VR mode rather than pancake?1.1KViews0likes1CommentMake me a developer
Please add me to the early access program to help develop horizon worlds. I have many new 3d assets I'd like to experiment with as well as ideas to revolutionize horizon worlds and make it much more enjoyable and productive for all users. I will contribute endless value to Meta and am unable to do so without being given special access. Please go through the proper channels and add me to the program. I created a bot to play music in my world. I first tried my not-so-great desktop with 8G RAM and oculus desktop yet horizon runs fine. I can travel to worlds without a problem. My issue was that my music buffered too much with my desktop so then I installed it on my Lenovo X1 gaming laptop 64g RAM and all the bells and whistles but no dice! Horizon loads up just fine but I cant travel to any worlds. I have installed and uninstalled, updated both, set to English and cant get it to work. I even linked my Quest Pro to the laptop. It handled the graphics just fine and still it wont travel from the laptop horizon. Is there any help anyone can provide me with? Ive asked a few key people in the Metaverse and no luck yet..
