The Music Thread
Share some of your favorite songs, artists, ideas, creations, etc. Here's mine... I'm a huge fan of The Metal but I think I'll start with some of my legendary, less angry, favorites. Probably my favorite band of all time across all genres is Primus. I've seen them live twice, and I've seen Les Claypool live in his solo act once. It all started with "Jerry was a Race car driver" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBQ2305fLeA For those who don't know Les, fun fact: he once audition for Metallica and they denied him based solely on the fact that he is far too damn good for them. I've seen tons of bands live (Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Korn, System of a Down, Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God - to name a few). But Primus is the band that showed me first hand the largest mosh pit I've ever seen, and it was to this mighty cute song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wADSBoNkGMI A few thousand people went ape shit at the 1:37 mark. I hold in high regard just about everything Claypool releases; if I had to pick a favorite song it is simply, Here Come The Bastards https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa2il_zHFm8139KViews9likes913CommentsExplorting 3d Scans made on the Quest 3
It would be really cool to be able to export the models and textures made while 3d scanning environments using the quest 3. This would allow us to import the scans into a 3d modelling program like blender, to be able to set them up for use in another VR game or experience. In a way it would be helping expand the content available in the metaverse by allowing users to get creative, even if the 3d model isn't particularly high detail, users could add in missing detail via a 3d modelling program. We could also add extra detail by modifying the textures, normal maps, height maps ect. I would love to be able to make a map out of my gaming room for use in a social VR game! People used to make maps in CounterStrike years ago called RAT maps, where they would model an environment where the player was tiny playing in a massive ( to them). Having this feature available would make is much more accessible to create fun content like that. Progress is good ^_^, and the less limitations we have for contributing to the content available the better! Unlock peoples creativity ^_^2.4KViews0likes1CommentMerging our Oculus UserVoice Boards onto our Community Forums
Exciting news everyone! We’re going to be merging our suggestions boards on Oculus UserVoice over to our larger Oculus Community forums. We love hearing what all of our users have to say, and we’re looking forward to bringing these two communities together. All of the posts, comments, votes, and statuses will be moved over to a new ideas section that we’ll be opening up on the Oculus Community forums. This change will happen starting December 8th. We’ll also be migrating all Oculus UserVoice accounts with email addresses that match Oculus accounts over to the Oculus Community forums. If you have an existing account on the Oculus Community forums and on Oculus UserVoice, both under the same email address, the accounts will be merged automatically and all of your posts, comments, and votes will be moved over without you having to take any extra steps. You can find and change your Oculus UserVoice account’s email address by logging in and selecting Settings underneath your username. The email address will show in the sidebar. If you don’t want your posts on UserVoice to be associated with your Oculus account, you have two options: Change your Oculus UserVoice email so it doesn’t match your Oculus account email. Do this by logging into your UserVoice account and under Settings, edit your email address and set a different email address from the one you are using on your Oculus account. When the migration happens, your UserVoice posts, and comments will be moved over but they’ll be marked as an unknown author on the new forum and will not be connected with any account and won’t be claimable in the future. OR Remove your username and email on Oculus UserVoice by deleting your account. To do this, you can log into your account on Oculus UserVoice, go to Settings, and on the sidebar, select Delete Account. Once you’ve done this, the content of your posts will remain and be transferred over to the new forum, but there will be no username attached, and no way to recover the post ownership in the future.4.1KViews4likes3Comments
