Standalone Local Area Network game is experiencing periodic lag that wasn't present before
We make a shared space multiplayer game that runs standalone on the Quest 2, Quest 3 and Vive focus 3. The games are hosted on a laptop plugged directly into the router that the headsets are connected to. Up until now, when we see the players start to stutter or "rubber band", we would power off the router, and when it came back on the lag was gone. But now we started to notice periodic lag coming from the headsets, every 6-7 seconds, the headsets stutter enough that physics objects being held by players get launched out of their hands. We tried everything we could to clear up the network but we usually keep our game network dedicated to just the games so there wasn't much to do. When this happened before in V54, The problem went away when we factory reset one of the headsets, so we proceeded to factory reset all of them. after a few weeks the stuttering came back on two of our headsets. The problem eventually went away after another Meta software update. Our game is built in Unreal 5.2, We test our game with Vive focus 3 as well and noticed they do not have this lag issue.494Views0likes0CommentsQuest 2 Wired Link Lagging & Eventually Crashing
Ever since the v30 update, Oculus Link hasn't been working properly. After roughly an hour, without fail, the Link gives up entirely, freeze-frames, and boots me back to the Quest 2's home menu. Trying to immediately relaunch will have it work for two minutes or so and then it'll boot me out again. Waiting for a few hours seems to reset the imaginary timer, but it'll still crash about an hour in. Even while it's "working," I'm experiencing frequent audio stutters that mess with my rhythm and drag any immersion left straight out of me. I'm even running on the supposedly stable branch, so I really don't know what's going on. This is seriously ruining my experience, is there a fix, preferably one that doesn't require me to factory reset my headset again?595Views0likes0CommentsHorrible lag when opening oculus quest 2 menu.
Hello, I have a problem when using Oculus link, every time i open oculus menu ( button on right controller) to view desktop or to recenter view, fps drops to like 1 frame per 2 seconds, if i try to press menu button to close the menu it doesnt want to respond, but after a few clicks it does close and everything goes back to normal. This happens in all games. Games them selves run flawlessly. Steam VR overlay (menu button on left controller) to view desktop or recenter view runs without issues. Issue is only with oculus overlay. Tried priority in task manager, downgrading upgrading video drivers, even different monitors with different refresh rates, tried messing with vsync and freesync settings. Nothing helps. Appreciate all suggestions. My specs are: GPU: GTX 1660Ti CPU: i5-10600KF RAM: 32GB4.7KViews0likes2CommentsOculus quest 1 lagging and stuttering even with offline play in stand alone mode
I recently noticed that when I play any game on the head set in stand alone mode the audio will start glitching and the FPS will substantially drop every minute or so. It doesn’t seem to matter if it is an online game or not and the problem goes away when it is in oculus link mode. When it is link mode the audio glitches and I have to plug in headphones. This started recently and it almost makes the headset unusable in stand alone mode. I am unaware of any major accidents that could have caused it so any solutions to the problem would really help me.2.3KViews1like3CommentsCasting has been horrible with V23.
Every time I start casting, I experience major fps drops. The screen shakes and stutters so much it almost immediately induces a headache. This only started happening after V23. I cannot figure out any way to stop it, and therefore cannot stream. Which is not cool.861Views0likes1CommentOculus lagging and stuttering. screen jumping while turning head up down or left and right

I'm new to VR so please be kind :) I'm able to get through the guardian setup with no problems. As soon as I get into my Oculus App 'home' things run smoothly for about 1 minute then the lag monster kicks in. Choppy, black areas when I turn my head which cover up the view partially. Also the main menu in the Oculus house moves around. So if I turn my head ever so slightly to look at that side menu, the whole menu moves making it almost impossible to select anything other than whats in the big main menu. Put a screen shot of the menu I'm referring to (not from my headset...i wish!). I've tried every combination of USB's and ports. Tried more/less lighting in the room. Temp on the GPU is fine. Ran some high-performing games on Steam (non-VR) and they ran fine. GPU is recognized by the PC. All drivers are up to date. Adjusted power settings. Re-seated the cable. Ugh, please help, losing faith. Thanks! A few specs: Win 10 PC, 8 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2060 6G, installed a PCIe USB1KViews0likes3CommentsHand tracking poor if two Touch controllers being used. Totally fine if sensors see only one.
I noticed today my touch controllers where lagging and choppy. Both in Oculus Home and in games. If I set one controller down out of sight of the sensors everything is perfect. Doesn't matter which one. Both controllers work perfectly individually as long as they are alone with no other controller in the scene. I've tried repairing the Oculus software, redoing all the sensor pairing and setup, reinstalling motherboard USB drivers, and unplugging all USB devices except for the Oculus Rift components. I also switched out both batteries in the controllers. Everything looks as it should in the Devices screen of the Oculus software. The only things I can think of that changed are that my GPU got a new update (which happens every day with GeForce Experience it seems). Anyone know of any thing? The rift is really only barely playable with one controller.945Views0likes3Comments
