Meta Quest Link Update: Link Launch Issue Resolved
Hi everyone, We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem. What’s changed: The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected. Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual. Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.6.9KViews13likes147CommentsSupport don´t care?
For over two weeks now, I’ve been in constant contact with the META Support Team. At first, I felt well taken care of. They gave me the impression that they were actively helping me troubleshoot the issue. They suggested various solutions. I tried every single one and repeatedly sent a report back to support. The result was always the same. After 3–5 minutes of use, the Quest 3 would start to freeze—the edges of the screen would turn black, and the headset and controllers would stop responding. At first, we assumed it was due to settings, drivers, or the application. I want to use the Quest 3 with MSFS 2024. But as it turned out, the "freezing" effect also occurred in the Meta World itself after 3–5 minutes. So it can’t be due to MSFS 2024. Nor is it due to the hardware or internet connection. Because my PC (I9 / 64GB DDR4 5200 / 2 TB SSD / NVIDIA GeForce 5070 Ti / 1000 Mbps download – 50 Mbps upload) is certainly well-suited for using a Quest 3. There’s also another factor: the Quest 3 freezes on a different PC as well. My guess, therefore, is that it’s a hardware issue with the Quest 3 itself. But META Support consistently ignores this. They send emails stating that the problem has been resolved, which I then deny. Then another person keeps writing to me, telling me to try this or that. I have to be honest. Customer support like this discourages me from continuing to work with META and using their products. Thank goodness there are alternatives. What is your experience with META Support? Do you have any idea what can be done?50Views0likes2CommentsConnecting Quest 3 to PC issue
Hi I am new to VR, I just bought a Quest 3 516gb and am trying to connect it to my PC, it's a Aftershock Ryzen 7700 + RX9070XT+ 32GB Ram. I connected my headset to pc using Type-C cable to 3.2 C-type at the back of my computer. I tested the connection speed, shows 2.9gps. But when I link the headset via cable or Wi-Fi to my pc all I see is a graphic white and gray screen, everything is jerky and Meta store screen and my controller pointers keeps appearing and disappearing. I have tried removing the devices and reinstalling the devices but same thing happens. The software is updated to the latest. So I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or missing something out, appreciate your help Thank You57Views0likes3CommentsMeta Link freezes after a few seconds
After installing latest Meta Horizon Windows app update (85.0.0.239.552), the display inside headset freezes (sometimes goes black, similar to when proximity sensor kicks in, but while still wearing VR headset) after a few seconds after establishing cabled link (official 5m cable). Have to restart PC and re-establish Link to get it to work again, but then same happens after a few seconds. Can still hear audio inside headset, and when using games it seems to do head tracking (monitor screen updates, but not inside headset). This also happens inside the Meta Link view (grey environment with grid floor and ceiling inside VR headset after establishing link). Firmware in VR headset is also on latest version, This happened after updating Meta Horizon Windows app on 3rd/4th March. Before this it was working perfect. Have tested this on 4 different PC's, with 3 different Meta Quest 3 headsets and one Quest Pro, with same result. Hardware on test PC's: Windows 11, different i9 processors (13th/14th gen, Intel Core Ultra 9), RTX 5090 laptop, RTX 5070 Ti Desktop, RTX 4090 desktop. 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers 595.71 WHQL driver + latest Windows updates1.7KViews9likes30CommentsMy game freezes mid raid but doesnt freeze on my computer while playing PCVR Ghosts of Tabor
Basically said what it does in the title, but almost everytime i play Ghosts of Tabor through PCVR I can get maybe 2 games in before it decides the headset wants to freeze. I look at my monitor and the game is still going and tracking is still working on my headset and controllers. Yet the headset is stuck on a frozen image and wont do anything unless I restart the headset and computer. Ive done countless troubleshooting for it and nothing has worked. Also note that when this happens it brings up the standalone menu instead of the meta link menu when i press the meta button on my controller. I am using the official licensed LINK CABLE as well and have pretty powerful PC.63Views0likes3CommentsRTX 5060 Ti Stuck on loading screen Fix with Quest 2
So, I've had this problem when I got my new desktop. Which had the requirements to use the Meta Quest Link with the RTX 50 series. About 6 months of banging my head against the wall to figure out what was wrong (Meta Quest Support was less than helpful), I have finally found a solution to the infinite loading screen for 5060 Ti graphic cards. Thanks to Google Gemini: https://gemini.google.com/share/1685782c62af Basically you need to do is to turn off asynchronous spacewarp: 1. Open the Oculus Debug Tool (C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusDebugTool.exe). Or (C:\Program Files\Meta Horizon\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusDebugTool.exe). 2. Locate Asynchronous Spacewarp. 3. Change it from "Auto" to Disabled. 4. Go to the top menu: Service > Restart Oculus Service. After these steps you should be able to boot into the Horizon Link home screen (White Grid). The best explanation Gemini gave me as to why this was a problem; "the Meta software likely had a "handshake" bug where it tried to engage ASW unnecessarily during the initial loading phase. Because the 50-series architecture (Blackwell) handles frame generation differently than previous generations, the Quest 2 gets "confused" by the synthesized frames and hangs on those infinite dots." I hope this post gets the attention it needs. Because even with log files, tech support didn't know what caused problem.62Views0likes2Commentsinfinite loading issue.
This may be awkward since I'm using a translator. I'm a Korean VR safety education content creator using Quest 3. I purchased a PC to install and run this content. After installing the meta program and connecting it, I'm stuck in an infinite loading screen. The screen isn't freezing or crashing. PC info i5-13400F 16GB RAM RTX 5060 8GB 니다. I am trying to play some of my games using the Meta/Oculus Horizon Link. I have had a Link Cable for a lot of years and the software has given me issues here and there yet nothing massive. Recently I have run into a massive problem. Whenever I begin to play my games, my headset will freeze with a still frame as my vision. This happens a minute or two have passed by. I can still hear the in game audio. When I look to my pc to see if it's the same thing as my headset, it shows that I am completely fine. My hands and headset are still being tracked and I can still interact with the vr world itself. I am all up to date on my drivers and windows updates as well as the Meta/Oculus Software itself. I am completely lost as to what is happening and how to fix it myself. If someone can help me, then I would be grateful.178Views1like2CommentsLink not working in any capacity on new quest 3
I’m not new to this. I bought the quest 1 and 2 on release day of each. I was a little late to quest 3 but I’ve got one now. I’ve tried everything in my power to get link to work, including but not limited to: Trying different cables and different ports. I used 3 different cables, all USB 3.0, in every possible port on my pc. Including a USB hub Launching airlink instead. This works somewhat, but is unable to launch steamvr which is what I am really after restarting headset and computer. They always say try this, but it didn’t fix anything before you ask me the stupid questions, yes I am absolutely 100% sure my PC meets the minimum specifications, and I am 100% sure that they are both on the same network. When I plug my headset into my pc, I get the connection notification in both the headset and windows, so I know there is some level of communication going on. Why the meta desktop app or my quest are unable to recognize eachother is one of the most frustrating mysteries I have came across in a minute. I am seemingly unable to attach images in these forum posts, but I have relevant images. One of which shows my PC monitor searching for a link, and then my in quest screen also searching for a link, with the cable connecting the two clearly visible. Looking to get this resolved with a patch of some sort, as I’m assuming this is a software issue (also yes I am running the latest version of all relevant softwares)1.1KViews1like15CommentsMeta Quest 3 CABLE LINK USB 3.0 not working
I've been using my Meta quest 3 headset for over a year now on a much older computer with bare minimum specs. As of recent, i updated my entire computer, and had no issues for a month. As of the last 2 weeks, my headset link has been disconnecting frequently, to the point i have to change which usb slot my headset connected to. Now, my headset will not find a link connection in ANY usb 3.0 port in my computer, and will only work at lower quality in a usb 2.0 slot. I will re-iterate, i had no issues with this specific issue previously on an older computer, and was fine for a month with my new one. Everything connects to my PC fine, so i know its not my usb ports. I have checked all my computer hardware components with what is and isn't supported, + minimum required components for Quest link - to which my pc is much above the minimum required specs. My meta quest link app has also been frequently telling me my "Pc doesnt meet the minimum requirements", which again - i cross checked the minimum requirements and supported components and everything should work fine. I'm running 32GB of DDR5, GEFORCE NVIDIA RTX 5070, and an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor162Views0likes9Comments
