Link cable Screen tearing/pixelated horizontal lines
I wanted to share my experience in case someone else runs into the same issue. Ever since I upgraded to my new 9070 XT, I’ve been having serious problems using my Oculus Quest 3S with the Link Cable. The headset connects normally and everything runs smoothly for the first 10 minutes or so, but then heavy visual artifacts start appearing inside the headset: horizontal pixel lines with wrong colors or stuck frames start appearing and it quickly becomes completely unplayable. If I unplug and replug the Link Cable, it starts working again, but only for another 10 minutes before the issue comes back. I spent over a week in contact with Meta Support, both through WhatsApp and email, working with their specialists to try every possible fix. We went through basically everything: uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers, using DDU, cleaning the system, changing cables, switching USB ports (all 3.0 or better) and even doing a full Windows reinstall. Unfortunately, nothing worked. In the end, since they couldn’t solve the problem, they added some credit to my Oculus account as a small compensation, which I appreciated, but it obviously doesn’t fix the issue. The problem disappears completely if I swap my GPU back to my old Nvidia RTX 2060, the Quest 3S works perfectly fine with that one. So this seems to be an AMD-side issue. My specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9070 XT MB: Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming (wifi) I’ve already contacted AMD support as well, but they haven’t been able to give me a clear answer so far. I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, i also found this thread with the exact same symptoms and these reddit posts with similar issues (1, 2, 3) At this point, I just wanted to share this so other people are aware this might happen. If anyone else with a Radeon 9000-series card has seen something similar, I’d really like to hear about your experience.157Views2likes5CommentsWired Link Issue v81.1034 been happening since v79 and v76
Ever since the v76 or v79 updates my link cable hasn't been registered on my headset causing PCVR issues my cable isn't broken but it rejecting connections to PCVR I use my headset only for PCVR and ever since the these updates came out its been causing major issues to PCVR in general the PCVR programs that I use keep rejecting the connection after a couple of minutes causing major issues with my PCVR experience. I tried a random USB cable and it has the same issue so I know its the port on the Quest and not my cable's I'm on current v81.1034 and this has been an issue on my quest for a while now. You guys need to fix the Cable connection on the cable it needs to be fixed because PCVR on Wi-Fi is super buggy and I want this Fixed90Views0likes4CommentsIssue with link
When I use my cable to play pcvr, after 20 or so minutes i get this glitchy lines on my headset. You can't see it on the game. The lines stay on my screen and make everything look blurry. It goes away when I replug in the headset. I have tried another link cable, and the issue persists.60Views1like2CommentsV81.1034 latest release now detecting usb 3 as usb2
So, having updated to 5131230.22000.520 on 29th Oct, I noticed performance was slow - noticable lag connecting over the link cable. Previous build was fine. I then ran a usb test and it appears its now detecting my USB 3 connection as USB 2 and in the link software I know have an exclamation mark telling me to try USB 3. Its telling me my link speed is 340meg. So i wonder if some regression has crept in the release and now we are missing USB 3 support. Note my pc is AMD chipset based. Nothing else has changed on PC. Meta really do need to do a far better job of testing against pc's !!! its not the first time we've had major issues.356Views1like24CommentsAfter updating to v83 i can confirm link no longer freezes after 15-20 minutes
as its now every 10 **bleep**ing seconds, sorry to those who i gave hope that meta would actually fix something in an update, or at the very least, not break it further, and to top it all off, there's now no link audio at all, this has to be some out of date april fools joke81Views0likes2CommentsWired Link Completely Broken
After the recent v.81 update my Quest 2 headset has become fully paperweight due to the meta PCVR-LINK issues. I use my headset only for PCVR and ever since the latest update came out my headset gets recognized by the app and all but whenever i press to connect my link in the quest 2 pop up it just gets stuck on the Meta loading screen with the 3 dots but i hear the audio from my pc. It has NEVER been like this, whatever you guys did with the update rollout you clearlt havent tested it enough or you're forcing people to buy your newest equipment for the money. Its been nearly 10 days since this bug happened for me and numerous other people across Reddit, Discord, even on this website here. ISSUE A HOTFIX AND PATCH THIS.116Views1like2CommentsMeta Quest Link completely broke on the latest V81 System update.
Hello, my Quest 2 updated today to v81. Since the update, every time i try to run the Link software it boots me out of it, back to the Immersive Home. EVERY TIME. I did a COMPLETE reinstall of Quest Link too, two times! And it just refuses to work! Yesterday I was playing fine, what is the problem?250Views2likes9CommentsLink extremely slow download speeds
I'm having problems downloading games on the PC with Meta Quest Link software. Right now I'm in Costa Rica with my laptop, I have a 200Mbps connection here. Ookla Speed Test reports 190 Mbps on downloads and uploads. However The quest link software downloads at around 3 Mbps. Using TCPView to check where the software is downloading from, it points to this IP: 157.240.244.53 which according to iplocation.net is Facebook servers in Mexico. I downloaded a game on Steam earlier and I was getting around 175 Mbps. Thing I've tried: Set software bandwidth to unlimited Set software bandwidth to 1000Mbps Toggle Download while in VR on and off Shut down the headset (Quest 2) Windows Power mode set to Best Performance Windows Power Mode set to Balanced Please note that I'm trying to download games to the PC, not the headset. (I haven't tried downloading game to the headset yet)30Views0likes1CommentSteam vr stutter
Ever since I updated to version 81, whenever I connect my headset to the PC via Link cable, the FPS in SteamVR games keeps going up and down and won’t stay stable — even though the GPU headroom in the Link Debug Tool shows around 60%. However, in games that don’t use SteamVR, everything runs smoothly just like before. What could be causing this issue?202Views1like10CommentsLet Us Customize Display Window Aspect Ratio Within Remote Desktop
I hate to be that guy, but does it irritate anyone else who normally uses ultrawide monitors/resolutions that no currently available transformation of the windows that RD uses gets rid of the ugly letterboxing?.... Especially if I ever try to use a virtual display, cause the only two options that feel like they should, at least to me, are on either side of the main display.... I would just love to get a nice, clean window that's the right size, and responds at as low a latency as possible given any possible complications while data streaming, which I already see/feel is getting tweaked regularly.... For me at least, ONE really good main display is fine for now, and what I keep praying for... 😔 It delays the desire I feel to immediately go pick up a third-party pair of XR glasses to tide me over until next fall by at least a few months... As long as this gets stronger/faster, this fills 99% of my needs computing wise, desktop considered.36Views1like1Comment
