Link needing PC restart to reconnect
Hello, I've started having this issue just recently, as it was working fine before. Basically the meta link would work fine until 5-10 minutes in, then the headset display would freeze, though the audio and head movement did not. Restarting the headset and re-plugging the link cable in don't work, and if I were to disconnect the horizon link, then no matter what I did, the link would not connect anymore. The only way to get the link started again that I've found is to just do a full PC restart. I'm using a Quest 3 and a brand new link cable, but I doubt those are the issue. I've tried some fixes I've seen on here but none worked. And before you tell me about AirLink, no, it's too unstable for me to use.Solved87Views1like3CommentsVR screen is grey after 5 ish minutes of use on quest link

So I keep trying to air link my head set to my steam vr app on my computer with the steam link app on my headset but when I get them to connect I hit continue then goes to a screen that says I am in the wrong session as my computer. I have checked that all my drivers are updated and pretty much anything I could think of but it still doesn’t work. Can someone please help me find out why I can’t get them to connect?46Views0likes3CommentsMeta PC software can't reach Meta Quest Link services.
as you can see in my screenshot somethings not right. ive searched the internet but i found nothing, i use windows and this error came when i installed the software and it went through a scan to verify everythings alright. I also tried the "repair" button many times and uninstalled and reinstalled the program a couple of times but its still not working. (also restarted my pc many times and i also have a stable internet connection.) Does anyone know what i could try?15KViews2likes24CommentsBring Back the Oculus Home!!
While I understand the need for performance optimization, removing the Home environment entirely has removed a core layer of the PCVR ecosystem, the trophy and decoration system. PCVR users have the hardware overhead to support these environments. By forcing us into the minimalist Void Menu Meta has removed the incentive to collect in-game items and interact with the platform UI. Please consider bringing back a persistent, customizable "Home" for Link and Rift users who want more than just a 2D menu. How come you guys gave Quest cool 3d environments and PCVR users are stuck with some weird Interface. And if the Quest 1/2 can't run it then turn it off by default for them. I'm just saying Oculus Home used to feel more futuristic then the "Modern" Dash Menu ever has. Again Meta please consider bringing back what made Oculus Link special.72Views0likes2CommentsThe Meta Quest Link window for adding a new device cannot be resized to fit my display resolution
In the Meta Quest Link app on my PC (Windows 11), when trying to add a new device, the window that shows all the Meta headsets to choose from is much larger than the display size of my monitor (1980x1020), so the "previous" and "next" buttons cannot be accessed. This is a problem with the Meta Quest Link software not scaling its windows properly. The Meta Quest Link window cannot be resized (the little square in the top right corner for resizing the window is greyed out), and my PC monitor is already set at its maximum supported resolution. Lowering the display resolution only makes the problem worse. While I can scale my Windows display to make everything larger, it is not possible to downscale the windows below 100%, so I have no way to make the Meta Quest Link window fit on my screen. So basically, I am stuck and can't navigate forwards or backwards from this screen.Solved861Views0likes9CommentsQuest Link / Air Link suddenly stopped working today – session never starts
Device: Meta Quest 3 OS: Windows 11 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080 Connection: Air Link and USB Link (same behavior) Quest Link (both Air Link and USB Link) was working normally for months and was working earlier today. After ending a session and starting another one, Link stopped working completely. The headset is detected, the session initializes, but it freezes on the grey/purple Link screen and never reaches VR Home. Eventually the session drops or returns to the headset home. This is not a USB issue, not a network issue, and not a headset pairing issue. Important facts Same hardware and setup working for ~4 months Worked earlier today No hardware change No Windows reinstall No BIOS change No GPU change What I already tried Reinstalled Meta Quest Link multiple times Factory reset the Quest 3 Removed all Oculus / Meta registry entries Clean GPU driver reinstall with DDU Downgraded NVIDIA driver Tested both Air Link and USB Link Repair installation Restarted all Meta/Oculus services Reconfigured the headset from scratch None of the above resolved the issue. Observed behavior PC app detects the headset Session enters VR mode Streaming loop starts Grey / purple Link screen appears No image is ever presented Session freezes or terminates This indicates the session is created, but the compositor never presents a valid frame. Relevant log behavior From Service.log and LinkClient.log (same timestamps): VR session initializes Streaming starts Frames may briefly decode Compositor or transport fails shortly after Errors such as: Failed to read display driver information Graphics adapter state UNKNOWN Elevated Shared Memory failed to initialize Error -1002 Registry/config access failures after reinstall This points to a runtime or compositor state failure, not user configuration. Key point This did not degrade gradually. It stopped working suddenly today after previously working normally. That strongly suggests a silent Meta runtime update or a runtime state corruption that reinstall does not fully reset. Request to Meta Please confirm whether there was a Quest Link / runtime update today Clarify how to perform a true clean runtime reset (not just reinstall) Confirm if there is a known issue with Link compositor initialization Provide a way to roll back the Quest Link runtime At the moment, Quest Link is completely unusable despite supported hardware and exhaustive troubleshooting. I can provide full Service and LinkClient logs with timestamps if needed.Solved5.4KViews35likes88Comments
