USB stick with OTG Adapter on Oculus Quest 2
Hi Guys, I've recently bought an Oculus Quest 2 64 GB and currently trying to watch videos on my USB Stick via Big Screen and Pigasus VR Media Player on the headset. I've got an USB-C to USB 3.0 OTG adapter which I use to connect the USB stick to the headset. I've already formatted the filetype on my USB Stick to FAT32 as I'm aware that's the only USB filetype currently supported by Oculus Quest. When I connect the USB stick to the headset via the adapter, the headset recognizes that I've connected something as I hear a sound but then I'm unable to find the USB stick on any of the apps. I've tried following instructions on the Oculus support page which states that I should find 'Connect media' on Oculus Gallery but the app is no longer available on Quest 2. Are USB sticks supported on the Quest 2 or not? If yes, what are the instructions for accessing USB storage on the Quest 2? Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated as one of the reasons I got the headset was to watch 3D movies on the go as I thought the Quest headsets supported media playback via USB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksSolved76KViews3likes19CommentsRay-ban meta glasses
Hello, why do I need to be connected to wifi just to import media? I am on holidays and I want to record a video and import the video over mobile data. Why do I need to go back to hotel just to import the media? I want to be able to import over mobile data, this restriction is pointless and ridiculous at the same time. Meta needs to address this issue and fix it, software update should remove this restriction and allow us to import media over mobile data and not only over wifi.14KViews0likes6Comments[Go] Movie file fails to load in Oculus Go
I'm setting up a media player in UE4.19.2, largely following the method described here: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/Engine/MediaFramework/HowTo/FileMediaSource File plays fine in preview on PC, but fails to load in the Oculus Go with this error: LogPlayLevel: 06-05 15:47:19.591 12891 12909 D UE4 : LogMediaUtils: Error: Cannot play file://../../../MyProject/Content/Movies/mymovie.mov, because none of the enabled media player plug-ins support it: I imagine this indicates that the file is encoded in an unsupported codec - what's the recommended file format for a movie to be played by UE4 Media Framework on the Go? First off, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. I mostly use the various VR subreddits. This is my first time posting here after an individual from the support team recommended it. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction on how I could get added to Meta's press list. Originally I thought my community was not large enough but since then have seen content creators with smaller audiences be added to their press list. I do not expect any handouts, I am just trying to gain access at the same time as other creators / media that Meta works with just like I do with games. I would obviously be fine to sign any NDA's, follow any embargo dates or sign over my soul to Mark if that is what it took. Or even if I could be told that once I meet X requirements I can be added. Any help at all is much appreciated, thanks! 🙂1.1KViews0likes0CommentsUse the official Press-Kit in university work
Hey there, I'd like to know if someone here has information regarding the licence of the official Oculus (Rift) Press-Kit. I'm studying in Germany and I've used in a webdesign course this semester. Now me and my teammate have been nominated for a nationwide multimedia award and would like to submit our work, but I'm not sure if we're allowed to use the Oculus CI and images for this purpose, as we have no licence. I've already contacted the official Oculus support (media team) a week ago (you know, like in the rap-song), but haven't received any answer yet. So now I'm asking you, the community. Maybe someone had a similiar problem. I'm looking forward hearing from you! Have fun with your HMDs! Thank you for your time.784Views0likes0Comments
