Quest 2 Stuck on Link Loading Screen With White Meta Logo
So basically quest link (using a cable) worked yesterday perfectly fine, but today I tried to launch it and it gets stuck on a screen with a white meta logo, and never loads into the pcvr. I have a feeling this is something to do with the broken update they released a few days ago 78.1---. IF YOU HAVE A FIX PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I have to use VR for my job and this is making it so I can't work.83Views0likes7CommentsMeta Quest Pro Controllers Offset Tracking
I have had the meta quest pro controllers since 2023 and they just started acting up a while back, recently they have been having a about 11 inch offset Infront of my face and when doing a 360 they try their best to stay in the place. But the thing is that I can still move it forwards and back it's just very inconvenient and very hard to do anything. If anyone knows a solution to fix this, I would be delighted if you could leave a reply. Thank you!9Views0likes0CommentsMeta Quest Link not working
Hello, I used to be able to play on my VR with a link cable perfectly fine, but I recently got a new computer, and it doesn't work. I checked the requirements and my PC meets them without question, but whenever I try to connect the headset, my computer gives me messages like "Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article." I checked that article, but nothing seemed to help. The Quest program on my computer shows that my headset is connected and ready to launch, and so does my headset, but when I launch it through the link cable, it just doesn't load, and it stays on a black screen. I've also tried connecting my headset through a USB hub instead of the actual computer to connect it through USB 3, but it still doesn't work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it? Thank you!Solved27KViews2likes41CommentsVR should be fun, not frustrating - Steam VR PC Link problem
I am trying to build my VR (Quest 2) library by adding Steam VR games. Unfortunately, these games require a USB cable or 'air link' to run. I prefer the cable, so I bought a good quality - active - USB 3.x cable to connect my Quest 2 to my Windows 11 PC. Normally my procedure for playing a 'tethered' VR game on my quest 2 is this: 1. Plug the cable into my PC's USB 3.2 port and to the Quest 2. 1a) Power up the Quest 2 and wait it to boot up. 2. Start the Oculus app on the Windows 11 PC. Check that it recognized the Quest 2 headset 3. Start Steam. Select the VR game I want to play, then hit Play. 4. Put on Quest 2 headset. I see the game starting, but somewhere during game play, everything goes blank and I get the message 'pc disconnected'. So the first thing I did was to place the velcro cable management strap over the Quest 2 band so that it keeps the USB C cable in place. The connection feels good, and wiggling it during game play (when PC link is working) does not disconnect. The spontaneous disconnect appears to be a software/firmware glitch, and not a connector issue. It has occurred in multiple Steam VR games. I tried a Google search, and saw something about an alternate connection driver, but I wasn't in the mood to fiddle with the PC - I just wanted to enjoy some VR! Is there an alternate to Oculus Windows app when playing Steam VR games on the Quest 2? Thanks for your help Ethan_TXSolved23KViews3likes7CommentsRandom pixelated bars when using oculus link
I bought an Oculus Quest 2 about 6 months ago and it has been working fine either standalone or using oculus link (I use a Kiwi Cable for this). I stopped playing it for a little while but for the last 2 weeks or so, randomly a pixelated bar will sometimes show at the top and bottom of the screen, they look really low resolution but the centre of the screen is always perfectly clear. The monitor that mirrors the gameplay has no issues either. Most of the time they go away after a few minutes, but there has been one occasion where the bars seemed to 'grow' over the entire screen and couldn't see until I completely restart the Quest 2. This only happens when using link, not had any issues with standalone games. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?11KViews1like25CommentsMeta Quest 2 suddenly not connecting to WiFi
For some reason, my Meta Quest 2 has decided to not connect to my home WiFi network completely today. It was working just fine yesterday, as I was on in the evening. But now, even though it shows the WiFi network, the strength on it is excellent, it's working on all my other devices and the three computers within my household, it just gives me the "Failed to connect to WiFi" on my Quest 2 every single time. I've tried all the "general solutions" that have been suggested... restart your headset, update your Oculus app, update your headset, reset your router, forget the network and reconnect, etc, etc... Everything short of a factory reset, which I'm trying to AVOID, as it's now a MESS to even set up an account anymore. I don't want to have to go thru all this if I don't have to. To say this is frustrating me is an understatement. I've not experienced issues like this over the years I've owned my headset, and now, I can't do anything but use it as a paperweight at the moment. If there is anyone that has any type of information on why this is occuring, please enlighten me. I'm at my wits end here.Solved68KViews4likes68CommentsCan't disable Xbox controller from interacting with my headset
When a controller is connected to my PC while using (wired) Oculus Link and I am viewing my monitors from within the headset, there will be a dot on the screen that follows my head movements. If I press 'A' on my Xbox Elite 2 Controller, it will act as if I left-clicked where that dot is, 'B' brings up the In-Headset keyboard context menu, left-trigger moves my in headset window, and right-trigger seems to snap my cursor back to the dot. The thing is, I don't want my controller interacting with my headset at all. I want to use my headset, with my computer viewing my monitors in headset and play a game with my controller without those inputs that were meant for the game, also interact with the headset. Another example is that if I'm playing something like Elite Dangerous, which is (very!) VR capable, but needs more input capability like the mouse and keyboard or bunches and bunches of mapped buttons on a controller. To be honest, the controller is easier for games like Elite Dangerous for most tasks but I can't have my 'A' button interfacing with the headset. Not related to Elite, but I also don't need my left-trigger to suddenly start launching in-headset window that I'm currently looking at all over the place. If I need input within my headset, I will grab my headset-controllers that I've set safely just off to the side, or if I can't find them, I can take off my headset to look for them. What's more, if I'm going to interface with my computer's monitors, I'll either be close enough to the computer to use the mouse and keyboard or I'll put back on and use the headset's controllers. I'm honestly not sure how this wasn't a user scenario when designing it. I've seen other posts from years ago and there hasn't been any change in this behavior to accommodate this scenario. I understand that this doesn't fit all persons because maybe the computer is far away from the Oculus and the only input you have in your hands is the controller but, in my situation, I need the ability to disable that. Is it possible to do this?8.2KViews16likes21CommentsQuest 2 keeps disconnecting from WIFI
Quest 2 keeps dropping Wifi It's been a couple of weeks and HOURS of google searching and experimenting and it persist. I haven't timed it but it happens consistently every 5 minutes or so. Just long enough for me to load a game and join a server. Steps I have tried: Separate the 2.4ghz and 5ghz into different SSIDs Restart the Wifi Restart the Quest Enable the Experimental feature option Disable Wifi refresh in the settings. Verbally degrading the hardware and threatening to replace it Creating a Voodoo doll of Zuckerberg with hair clippings bought off ebay Wringing my hands in desperate anguish and screaming into the void. I have an ATT fiber router that's a foot away in the same room with clear line of sight. I have tried using different bands, 40/80/126 Please help. It's useless like this.Solved43KViews2likes69CommentsOculus lik recognize connection as USB 2.0
Good evening and happy new year! I'm using my oculus quest 2 with a "CableTex usb-c to usb-c 3.1 5m" but i'm not getting it recognized as a 3.0 but only as a usb 2 (at -+ 350Mbps). My motherboard is a "MSI MAG B550 tomahawk" (mounted i have a ryzen 9 3900x, 32 gb ram and an msi gaming x rtx 2060super); i'm getting the same result through all my usb C ports: -1 on the front (connected to the internal motherboard connector which is a 3.2 gen1 usb c) -1 on the rear io (direct from the motherboard which is a 3.2 gen2 usb c) -1 on the rear pci expansion card (it's a supageek pci expansion card, which theoretically from the amazon spec. is 3.0, although it says in the description that it is NOT compatible with oculus rift; anyway is working fine but recognize as usb 2 as the others) From Device Manager in windows 10 pro it says that my ports are 3.1/3.0 but i know that there are some misleading in the meaning of usb 3.x genX; so i think that windows is operating those ports just fine. I tried flipping the usb c cable the other side (even if it should be "specular" but i read that some time it works) and i tried like 10 other cables (usb-a to usb-c) that i had laying around (2 of them i know in fact being 3.1; the other were spares that could be 2.0) to different ports (rear and front ports, so all 3.2 gen1 5Gbps and 3.2 gen2 10Gbps); but the result were the same: recognize as USB 2, and working at "only" -+ 350Mbps. So i'm here to ask for assistance, the oculus link IS working but i can't activate 90hz mode because it recognize the connection as USB 2.0.16KViews0likes8CommentsUSB stick with OTG Adapter on Oculus Quest 2
Hi Guys, I've recently bought an Oculus Quest 2 64 GB and currently trying to watch videos on my USB Stick via Big Screen and Pigasus VR Media Player on the headset. I've got an USB-C to USB 3.0 OTG adapter which I use to connect the USB stick to the headset. I've already formatted the filetype on my USB Stick to FAT32 as I'm aware that's the only USB filetype currently supported by Oculus Quest. When I connect the USB stick to the headset via the adapter, the headset recognizes that I've connected something as I hear a sound but then I'm unable to find the USB stick on any of the apps. I've tried following instructions on the Oculus support page which states that I should find 'Connect media' on Oculus Gallery but the app is no longer available on Quest 2. Are USB sticks supported on the Quest 2 or not? If yes, what are the instructions for accessing USB storage on the Quest 2? Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated as one of the reasons I got the headset was to watch 3D movies on the go as I thought the Quest headsets supported media playback via USB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksSolved75KViews3likes18Comments
