Option to Disable Ambient Background Sound
I can't believe how many threads concern Meta's refusal to provide customisation options, as though denying users the capacity to do so is part of Antichrist v2.0's mission statement for his company, but anyway, here's another. Can we please have the option of disabling that horrible ringing noise? It's not pleasant, it doesn't add anything to the experience, it's like New Age tinnitus. Now that we finally have the option to disable that ghastly mirror, how about the same option to disable the dreadful ringing noise?13KViews5likes39CommentsTurnip video driver support missing from quest 3 and 3s, apps perform worse than quest 2.
this is in relation to the mesa turnip video driver support that is missing in horizon OS against the xr2 gen 2 when used in quest 3 and quest 3s headsets. there is no blockage of the video driver from Mesa against the quest devices, turnip video drivers are working in other VR headsets with the same xr2 gen 2, and even the old oculus and meta quest 2 vr headsets can use turnip video drivers, resulting in a quest 2 running applications and emulators better than quest 3, which is frankly embarrassing. this regression has been present throughout quest 3 life cycle, with no reason given and no hope of working around this, forcing only the use of supplied Qualcomm drivers (which quest 3 is fully up-to-date with) that has compatibility issues and huge performance loss by comparison. this forces some very exciting projects leaving quest 3 behind on performance to all it's competitors when using android apps that take advantage of these better video drivers. Over the years I have seen more things removed than added from what is now called horizon OS, I hope this is something that can be reinstated, especially before launch of competitors like steam frame, of which quest 3 can already mimick the pc gaming on headset, but without turnip video driver support, it is left in the dust for compatibility and performance.56Views1like6CommentsThe new quest ui is terrible
so the new ui just came out for meta quest and its the most annoying overly complicated ui i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with anyone know any way to reverse it or suggest they change it back or at least give us the option to choose berween the old and new one its extremly annoying i know along of people feel the same way i have to slide thru like 9 tabs to locate an app i used to be able to see on one easy to slide screen and trying to open the call im on is like a 25 step process vs just clicking on one button on my quick menu please reverse this or give us the option to choose between the 2 or customize it128Views2likes2CommentsScreen tearing lines after v2.1 on quest2 and 3s
Specific Symptoms & Conditions Only Affects UI/Overlays: The tearing and artifacts only appear on the Quest UI, menus, overlays, and video streaming layers (such as Virtual Desktop or screens with white backgrounds). 3D Environments are Unaffected: Full 3D environments, background environments, and in-game visuals work perfectly fine, as long as no system overlay is present. Tied to Head Tracking: The visual tearing is triggered by head movement. It appears as horizontal lines when moving the head up and down, and vertical lines when moving the head left and right. Affected Devices & Firmware Hardware: The issue is widespread and not isolated to one headset. Users have confirmed this is happening on the Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S. Software: Multiple users pinpointed that the issue began very recently, specifically after the Horizon 2.1 update. Troubleshooting Attempted (No Fix Found) Users have attempted standard fixes, including factory resets and using the Meta Quest Update Tool, but the issue persists. Hardware defect ruled out: While one user suggested it could be a loose display cable, the community consensus strongly confirms this is a software/firmware issue. A broken display cable would cause persistent visual glitches across all games and apps, whereas this issue dynamically turns on and off depending strictly on whether a UI overlay is present. https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1rz62f9/comment/oc5a99g/ - pictures and video included https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1rq1z31/quest_2_rainbowartifacts_tearing_but_only_on_ui/ Possibly: Screen Tearing Artifacts | Meta Community Forums - 13690361.5KViews6likes60CommentsI can't login...
I've had a meta horizon account since I bought my quest. I put my number on the account my email and etc. but ever since I've moved to another country I completely forgot to change the old number to the new one.. and I one day factory resetted both my phone and quest 2. Ever since then, I haven't been able to login because of the phone number being stuck to that account, and that I had a bunch of recovery codes that I honestly haven't saved. Or just can't find them at all.. I have the old recovery codes I think. But the new ones are completely gone. and I can't let it go because I've had that account for so long and has lots of screenshots and screen recordings I miss. Can anyone help me?22Views0likes2CommentsMole A Hole

Hi guys, My quest 2 has been working perfectly since i got in on 22nd of october. Now suddenly it will not boot up anymore. When I turn it on, it shows the oculus logo, stays there for a few seconds, then shuts down for a few seconds, and then shows the logo again, shuts down, logo, shuts down.... The only way I can really stop this, is by acessing the usb update menu on one of the loops and selecting "Power off". I have tried all the options and they do nothing. If I select "boot device", it starts the boot loop again as before. The same thing happens if I select "factory reset". Once I confirm that i want to factory reset it, it just goes back into the boot loop, and nothing else happens. So yes, i did try to factory reset it, but it just doesnt work. Any ideas and tips would be greatly apreciated.Solved46KViews1like42Commentsair link doesnt work
