New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link
I've updated to the latest, non-beta for both the newly named 'Meta Horizon Link' software as well as the Quest 2 now on v83.0. The Meta Horizon Link software doesn't seem quite finished and ready for prime time. I have a persistent beam across the top of the app stating "New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link. Update now" - When I click "Update now", the app shuts but nothing more happens. I've waited several minutes thinking it might be doing something silently - it isn't. I then reopen the app which is a preceded by a 'Repair' screen. Getting back into the app, I see that same "Update now" button, click it but now it fails because the required services were stopped in the previous attempt. I restart the services and then the app, click the "Update now" button and we're back to point 1 with it closing the app and nothing happening. I've tried completely removing the app and its registry amends using Revo Uninstaller so I can completely start with a clean slate and the issue persists after a reset and re-installation. Is there a download url to the most recent link driver outside of the app available? Or is this a false notification due to a naming mismatch between the link driver and the newly named Horizon Link software? Many thanks in advance.444Views4likes13CommentsMeta quest link app doesn't launch

Seriously—there’s now a dedicated “TV” app with a movie section, including a couple of 3D trailers for Avatar, yet there’s no section for 3D movies at all. What kind of dropped ball is this? I should be able to open that app, select 3D movies as a main option, and watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 3D on my Quest 3. VR is perfect for 3D movies—so how is this still not nailed in the Meta/Quest/Horizon/TV experience? At this point, it’s just a sick joke.55Views0likes6CommentsQuest 3 WiFi connection takes down internet
Hi folks. This may sound like a weird one, it does to me. But I am a fairly experienced IT professional (retired) and I cannot figure this one out. I have a pretty standard router in my house (TP-Link AX1800). There are lots of different things on my property that use the WiFi and all of them work perfectly fine all the time, unless my ISP goes down. Now, enter the Quest 3. I used to use the Quest 3 connected to a different WiFi on an access point router. Then life got busy and I did nothing with the Quest 3 for weeks. However, it was plugged in. I do not know exactly when the problem started. Here's the problem: I can have many different devices on my home network just humming along. Then, as soon as the Quest 3 connects to the WiFi, all devices in the network lose their internet access. If I turn off the Quest 3 WiFi, the network will return but it will take a while, I am guessing because it is probably reconnecting with my ISP, or something like that. Does anyone know anything that could help me know what's going on? I know how to get into my router and I have checked all the available settings. As stated, everything else works perfectly. I opened a support ticket with Meta but I don't know how long that will take or whether they will even address it with me. I should add that the headset has no problem connecting to my iPhone WiFi hotspot. So, I know it's either something in the TP-Link router configuration, or something at the ISP. I have not contacted the ISP yet. I even had a brand new TP-Link BE9700 WiFi 7 router so I set it up and same result. That makes me think it's the headset. I changed mac addressing to Use Device Mac on the headset. And yes, I did a factory reset of the headset, and when everything was re-initialized, the problem still exists. I am lost. Any help, suggestions, I am all ears. I can't think of anything else to check.73Views1like7CommentsSon locked out of account and asked for ID
Hi all, having no success via the support email I thought I’d try here. My son was recently blocked from his account as it claimed he wasn’t 13 and needed to provide ID. He doesn’t have ID but before I even get to that the page requesting ID to be submitted doesn’t work - I click the button and nothing happens, I’ve tried on a browser and in app. No joy. Has anyone had any joy with this? He’s also vanished from under my account page which I previously used to manage his profile. He recently has a birthday so I don’t know if that’s the issue, or that he did the dot passcode and was unable to log back in because of that particular error, but any suggestions welcome or should I just accept the account is lost along with the games on it?97Views0likes9CommentsScreen Lock Pattern changed with v81 update and broke lock pattern
Upon opening my Quest 3 this evening, I was prompted to create a screen lock, and I used the pattern lock, which presented me with a square grid of 9 dots. I entered a pattern, and then regretted it, and could not find where to reset the pattern. Right after that, the v81 update installed, rebooted the headset, and I was prompted to enter my pattern to unlock, but the grid was NOT the 3x3 square grid, but rather a rhomboid pattern with three dots in the top row, two in the center row, three in the bottom row, and no center dot. My lock pattern uses the center dot, and no matter how I try to match the simple pattern I used, nothing matches. I cannot use my phone app to unlock the Quest 3, I cannot get past the lock screen in the Quest 3, and I am told that there is no solution other than a factory reset.342Views2likes10CommentsLost all purchased apps after upgrading from Quest 2 to Quest 3 — purchase history missing
Hello, I’m having a serious issue with my Meta account and I hope someone from support can help. What happened: I previously owned a Quest 2 (around 2022) and I had three or more paid apps installed on it. (Beat Saber, LesMills, Population: One...) I recently bought a Quest 3 (2025), logged in with what I believe is the same account, and noticed that: My Library is completely empty I cannot reinstall any of my previous apps The Purchase History says I have no purchases, which is incorrect Even apps I 100% bought in the past do not appear as “Owned” Important detail: The apps were definitely purchased, not free trials or demos. What I’ve checked: I made sure I’m using the same Meta account I used on the Quest 2 I checked the Meta app → Menu → Settings → Purchase History, and it’s empty I rebooted and synced the headset I checked for multiple accounts (Meta / Facebook / Oculus) My old Oculus account was migrated properly to a Meta Account in 2023 which is this one Possible causes I’m worried about: Whether my purchases are stuck on an older identity or unlinkable profile Whether something went wrong during the migration period What I need: I would appreciate help from support to Verify which purchases are attached to my account Recover my missing Quest app licenses if possible Confirm whether a migration issue may have caused my purchases to disappear I can provide: The email of my account Serial numbers (Quest 2 and Quest 3) Dates / approximate time of purchases Any additional information needed Thank you in advance. I really hope this can be resolved — I invested money into these apps and would like to access them again on my new headset.105Views1like13CommentsLock pattern changed LOCKED OUT OF MY OWN META QUEST 3!
Hello team, hope this finds you well. Today a notification prompted that said to put a screen lock on, with different options i.e pin or pattern, i chose pattern. I set a lock pattern and turned my meta Quest 3 off. Upon turning it back on i find out that the lock pattern design has been changed completely from a 9 dot (basic unlock pattern) it changed to a octagonal shape thingy (I have attached a picture of the lock screen and the changed pattern design) Which only consists of 8 dots which can be seen in the picture, so its practically impossible for me or many others users having same issue to login with the pattern we set. The only option it has is forgot password, and the only thing we see once we click on it is a guide to factory reset the meta quest 3 because thats the only solution according to it. I request the team to work on this lock pattern bug and let us know ASAP if theres any solution to it. (Picture attached) (Publishing from a different meta account than that in meta quest 3) regards Zxytro1.2KViews6likes15Comments
