Quest 3 passthrough black after developing with Unreal.
Hey, the normal passthrough function in the Quest 3 doesn't function anymore / is black after diving into Unreal development and setting everything up. The toggle in the menu is NOT greyed out. Passthrough works when playing First Encounters though. Anyone experienced the same thing? Thankful for any kind of help!8.7KViews0likes20CommentsPassthrough camera data is not available on Quest 3 developing with Unity
Basically it is not possible to access the real time passthrough video from Quest 3 in Unity. Many devs among the internet think it is a crucial feature to be able to process to create incredible mixed reality apps with object recognition using machine learning. Nevertheless, it is not possible to access the real time video captured by quest 3 in unity. Here is a reddit post made by me where people are requesting this feature. Please, we need access to real time passthrough video in Unity or other engines.48KViews109likes109CommentsCombine real objects with real objects
Hi all, I am developing an Unity App. In my project, I want to use the AR camera to track real objects in a virtual environment. Considering that meta does not allow access to the oculus camera, I decided to use an external camera as a cameraAR for Vuforia. Thanks to the external camera, I can use ImageTarget or ModelTarget. I am still left with one problem. When I develop in Unity the virtual environment, I have to tell where the oculus camera (OVRCameraRig) is located versus the cameraAR (Vuforia camera). I would like to have them start overlapping, and when I go into play mode, have the overlapping cameras start in an aligned way. However, Oculus only activates when it is used so this is not possible. Do you have any suggestions? best regards824Views0likes1CommentFiles App access to local SMB/NFS shares via WiFi
Hi, I think a great benefit/feature for the native Files app on the Meta Quest 3 would be the addition of connecting to local SMB/NFS shares with local media. This is supported by relevant third party paid media apps and if supported by native Meta Quest Files app it would provide additional options for accessing personal video collections of family photos. Also the SMB/NFS share connections should be remembered/saved after initial configuration so that Meta Quest usedmon home WiFi network regurarly can access the shares instantly.4.8KViews11likes2CommentsProgram works well on Simulator and Link but not when uploaded to the Quest 3
Hi everyone! I am using the Quest 3 for my research in Robotics. I am facing an issue where the physics of the robot seem to be neglected when I upload the program to the Quest 3. The program is very simple and it just changes the pose of the robot. To put it simply, at the beginning the robot starts at a certain pose, and then I move it to another pose. The program works well on the Meta Simulator and also works well when used over Cable Link, for example the following image shows the pose of the robot that matches the one in the script I am running: Which also had the same result over Cable Link. But then, I upload the same program to the Quest 3 and the robot becomes loose and jiggles around (except for the base as it is fixed in the space): I am using Unity, and the robot body is imported from URDF as a set of links, each modelled as an Articulation Body. I am using the xDrive function to move the robot joints to the desired position. My guess is that the Quest 3 hardware may not be enough for controlling Articulation Body components so the device is just ignoring the codes related to these parts? I came to this conclusion because when URDF bodies are imported through Unity, there is a "Controller" script attached to them, which is used to drive the robot joints. I tried deactivating this Controller script, and the behavior I see on the Quest 3 also happened on the Simulator and Cable Link, which indicates that this Controller script seems to get deactivated whenever the program is uploaded to the Quest 3. Is this actually a hardware limitation on the Quest 3? Or is there anything I can change in the settings to potentially solve this? I tried different timesteps and changing to a Balanced URP renderer but in vain. Thanks a lot!336Views0likes0CommentsCannot enable developer mode in meta horizon. Tried all other guides I can find
I have been trying to enable developer mode on my new to me quest 3. Previously my friend loaned me his original quest one and it worked perfectly there. I have verified all fields for my user account fields even added a credit card even though I didn’t want too. so under account. Add credit card :white_heavy_check_mark: set up text message two-factorquthorization:white_heavy_check_mark: add mobile number :white_heavy_check_mark: under organization at top says verified. I did admin verification and that also has :white_heavy_check_mark: Any help is appreciated. Already chatter to one rep that sent me to developers I think and they said they don’t deal with that issue.597Views0likes1CommentSide By Side Recording / Raw image recording
Hello there, I have a few questions regarding recording videos on Oculus Quest 3. In the headset itself, there is no "both eyes" option. It's available in Meta Quest Developer Hub PC app, however. Can I somehow set it on the headset itself so when I start "Record Video" from Camera app, it would record both eyes? When I set "both eyes" in developer hub, there's no option to record audio. What's the deal here? How can I record both eyes and audio? The video with both eyes has images slanted, which I think also cuts away some of the image. What's the deal with that, why make it slanted? Can I set side-by-side without rotated images? 4. when recording on the headset, mic has agressive noise suppression, making environment sounds completely cut off. Can I turn this off?6.5KViews0likes3CommentsStatic Windows For UI
Think about how useful it would be if meta would add the ability to anchor a window fixed to your display, this way you can move around your VR space and have windows follow you without needing to grab and keep ahold of them, this would allow for users to enjoy watching media content and interact with their room while using this device, currently, it is impossible to be able to move around your room and clean while watching a video unless you are willing to work around the house with one hand w, please meta, make this feature for us, I have been waiting years for it.345Views0likes0Comments
