My quest 2 mic is not working
I was playing nock with a buddy of mine switched to app chat from our party chat and it completely broke my mic. I have tried to fix it since by: 1. checking all my settings making sure it wasn't muted 2. Factory Resetting 3. testing on both air link and voice commands both output literally zero sound 4. Recording video to test it out 5. booting from the hidden menu you get to by holding down the power and - volume button 6. Enabling every permission on everything it allowed None of these fixed the problem and I'm losing my **bleep** not being able to talk in game. If anyone has anything I haven't tried please let me know this does seem to be some weird software lock but I'm not sure what is causing it i think the party chat is what broke it but I need help with this because it's driving me insane22KViews0likes7CommentsQuest microphone, usable in windows
Hi, I would love to be able to use the quest microphone (I'm on quest 2) in windows, straight from startup (Quest Home Screen). I need it for OBS - So I can communicate with my viewers, while streaming (on twitch), without the need to be in any other app. like SteamVR + Stream Link. (Or the oculus web casting) Said in another way: I would like to be able to use the quest microphone in windows, without the need to cast anything. - Also the ability to easily adjust the microphone & headset audio levels independently, from inside the headset, would be awesome. Hello there, I have a few questions regarding recording videos on Oculus Quest 3. In the headset itself, there is no "both eyes" option. It's available in Meta Quest Developer Hub PC app, however. Can I somehow set it on the headset itself so when I start "Record Video" from Camera app, it would record both eyes? When I set "both eyes" in developer hub, there's no option to record audio. What's the deal here? How can I record both eyes and audio? The video with both eyes has images slanted, which I think also cuts away some of the image. What's the deal with that, why make it slanted? Can I set side-by-side without rotated images? 4. when recording on the headset, mic has agressive noise suppression, making environment sounds completely cut off. Can I turn this off?6.2KViews0likes3CommentsQuest 3 - Microphone and Speaker Quality
For the next Quest headset, please make the hardware for the microphone and speakers better. Most VR enthusiasts are also social VR users so having a quality microphone and audio listening experience is highly valued. As a Quest 3 user myself, I have had experiences with a Valve Index so I know that the internals can fit a great microphone and that audio solutions exist where audio sounds amazing. To be frank, if the hardware is compelling enough spending $1000+ is not a hard sell and I hope the PRO versions take this into account.585Views0likes0CommentsDJBOT Horizon Worlds Quest Link Headset Microphone / Oculus Virtual Audio Device MONO not STEREO
It's 2024.. Can we get Stereo? Not MONO? Please consider this feature request.. When users want to input audio via Quest Link Device under Windows I believe it utilizes the only Windows Device on the Recording Tab called "Headset Microphone / Oculus Virtual Audio Device" to do this. Alot of users using Horizon Worlds want to DJ Music via Spotify etc. This is how its done. Yet what most don't understand is its being sent through a Mono 1 channel 16bit 48khz Device Driver? (correct me if I am wrong) After years of testing this it appears it definately MONO as playing any Beatles Stereo panning song results in not ever hearing 1 of the LEFT or RIGHT channels eg. voice of singer. OPTIONS Add a second device "LINE IN" for this which is 2 channel stereo for audiophiles. Add 2 channel stereo to the exiting "MICROPHONE" device. MOST URGENT give us an option to toggle any Noise Cancellation that is done on this device. Most of the quiet parts of music becomes rather GLITCHED lagg sounding most likely due to the filter that has to be applied for MIC users? There really is no need for this using Quest Link. Hello, We’re experiencing a Microphone bug when starting the Microphone the usual way, with "Microphone.Start()". What happens on the Quest 2 is that when we put the headset to sleep mode, by pressing the button on the side, the Microphone stops. BUT this bug is inconsistent, at least from our tests, it looks like the Microphone only stops if when coming back from sleep mode on the Quest 2, we get a popup window (like enter passcode, choose user account, etc.). If we don’t get a popup, from our tests, the microphone doesn’t stop. We don’t like that when starting the microphone on the quest there is always a black frame. Would it be best practice to always start the Microphone when coming back from an OnApplicationPause event? Do other people have that bug?470Views0likes0CommentsStill cannot use built in mic for casting on MQDH... Extremely obnoxious oversight...
I just don't understand. Meta is advertising this as the best way to cast gameplay and yet to this day there isn't even an option to turn on the mic. You can hear the mic when you record, but not when you cast? Make it make sense. The fact that this has been a common complaint for a couple years now just makes this all the more frustrating. If /casting can do it, what's stopping Dev Hub from doing it? Can anyone here think of a legitimate and logical reason for MQDH to lack this basic feature?1.1KViews0likes0CommentsConflicting Microphone Access between PUN Voice Chat and Speech Recognition
I am facing an issue in my Unity VR project where the PUN (Photon Unity Networking) Voice Recorder and my ChatGPT Assistant's speech recognition, powered by Wit.ai, cannot simultaneously access the microphone. When PUN Voice is enabled, the speech recognition for the assistant fails, and vice versa. The challenge lies in dynamically switching microphone access between these functionalities to maintain both voice communication and effective speech recognition. Anyone has any solution to this?547Views0likes0CommentsQuest 3 Audio Recording and Voice SDK at the same time
Hi, I am trying to use the audio input for voice command using Voice SDK but I also need to record the audio. There is a conflict and I tried to use another microphone for audio recording. I checked the Microphone.devices and there are three microphones available, but the second and the third microphone failed to Microphone.start: Android audio input Android camcorder input Android voice recognition input I guess my question is, how audio recording and voice SDK can exist at the same time. Can I use another microphone to do audio recording? Can I specify which microphone I want to use for voice SDK? Any device is appreciated. Thank you.499Views0likes0Comments
