Oculus Link Infinite Loading?
I've been using Quest + Link almost since release and it has been working just fine but now all of a sudden it has stopped working. It says on the oculus client that my Quest is active and ready to go. I put on the headset and enable oculus link. When I do that my screen goes black and then I'm stuck on an infinite loading screen. All I can see are the three moving dots and nothing else. I've tried reinstalling, repairing and restarting the oculus software but nothing has worked. Any help would be greatSolved224KViews15likes38CommentsShared Spatial Anchors for PC Rift in Unity
Hello, I am trying to use Shared Spatial Anchors for a Unity PC application and I have some issues: I undestand that Spatial Anchors may be shared with other users using OVRSpace.StorageLocation.Cloud when saving anchors. However, from the Meta Quest Developer Hub, in Platform Services I can't activate Cloud Storage. It is not available for Rift Applications (see the screenshot) So, is it related? May I create spatial anchors and share them with users although Meta doesnt allow to Add the Cloud Storage Service? Thank you!894Views1like0CommentsRetrieve a list of Games in user's Oculus Library?
hi, I've been working on a Discord Bot to help users find other users in the same discord server that own a specified game (an LFG bot) So far I've only implemented this with steam, and by popular demand, I'm now investigating if i can add the meta game library to the bot. On steam, The user logs into their steam account and the bot remembers their user ID and retrieves a list of all the games they have in their library Is it possible to do this with Meta and the Oculus library?532Views0likes0CommentsMedia Sound audio is recorded when is set to volume 0 in the app
Hi all, I have a project I am working on, it's an apartment where I have a TV with a video running in loop. The project is made in Unreal engine 5.1, and in the TV blueprint, I set the Media Sound volume to 0 when game begins, and switch volume according to when I turn on and off the TV. I was recording the gameplay on Quest 3, and despite in the game the audio answers to the interaction, when I watch the recording, the TV audio is loud and overlay every other audio effect from my game. This is the Blueprint, and the video is the recording from the Quest 3. The sound of the video worked just fine in the app when I was playing but in the recording it's like the TV was on all the time, really annoying. Now, is it some problem with the UE settings or the Quest Device?587Views0likes0CommentsMy App no longer works after Quest 2 software update
My app was working fine until I updated to the latest Quest 2 headset software. I have the same issue with 3 other headsets after I updated to the latest software. When I attempt to launch the app I developed, it goes black and then bounces me back to oculus lobby or it asks to reset the boundary. I have four headsets and they all have the same issue after updating. My app was working fine and only stopped working after the headset software update. I've done the following to no avail 1) Factory reset on one headset (i have issue with the 4 headsets I've updated). That hasn't resolved it. 2) I've tried at my home and at a co-working location 3) I've uninstalled and reinstalled my app. 4) I've signed off of wifi and signed back in. Another developer I contacted also has the same issue. Does anyone come across this and was able to resolve?1.2KViews0likes2CommentsOur VR software does not work on Quest after recent Oculus software update
Hi everyone, Our VR software has been working fine on Quest since Quest came out. However, recently we've noticed that the laser pointers stopped working completely. The software detects the controllers and laser pointers, however, the laser pointers do not interact with the UI (buttons). That's very strange because we haven't released any updates on Steam in a while (at least a year) and everything still works great on Rift. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing the problem or what is that we can do to try to track down the problem? Has anyone experienced the same issue? We've tried doing some debugging in Unity3D, however, there are no errors in the Unity editor because as I mentioned the controllers are detect and laser pointers show up. Also, is it possible to downgrade Oculus software because we believe this might be the source of the problem? Many thanks!1.6KViews0likes2CommentsOculus Setup Error: How to Set Up Oculus Quest in Unity 2019.3.0f3

Hello, I am a physics PhD student from King's College London and I would to do scientific outreach using Virtual Reality. I am new user to VR and I hoped you might be able to give us some initial information to get started. Hardware: Our target is to simulate astrophysical events from our simulations. We hope to get simulate movies (> 15 models/sec) of models comparable to https://skfb.ly/Z8DH (~383.2k faces, ~194.5k vertices). The main question for us is whether we should invest in a Oculus rift or just use a simpler setup with a mobile phone. We hope to use money designated for outreach, so we have to argue why we should spend such a significant amount of money for a Oculus + Compatible PC instead of a mobile phone with a simpler Gear VR. Software: We are using coding daily for doing science, but we have never used it to work with VR. We have a set of .obj files, which we extracted from our data. What kind of software would be best to create a VR - movie from these files which we could use for outreach -events ? About us : Two years ago gravitational waves where measured for the first time (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-36540254). This is one of the most significant discovery of this century and opened a new window to explore our universe using gravitational waves. To say the least, we are very excited about this discovery and hope to share this excitement with other people. Our group specifically does simulations of astrophysical events which we hope will cause gravitational waves. These events are the most violent ones in our universe, examples are colliding black holes or neutron stars. We produce these simulations using supercomputers. We hope to use Virtual Reality to visuale these events to show these very violent and fascinating events. any help would be appreciated best Thomas Helfer843Views0likes1Comment
