Meta doesn´t promote our app in the Oculus Store
We launched our app into the AppLab on Oct, 2022. However, after almost a year Meta has not promoted it at the Oculus Store yet. If all the documentation and graphics don´t have any issues, we don´t know what else we could do in order to get it past AppLab since Meta doesn´t provide any clear guidelines about it. Anyone has any tips?1.1KViews0likes1CommentHow Does App Submitting Works
Hi, I am just getting into developing an app for Oculus Quest 2 and I eventually want to submit my app to the Meta Quest Store. I found information about the VRC guidelines (here https://developer.oculus.com/resources/publish-quest-req/), but I want to know more. How does the team that "tests"/check the apps when we submit them, decide on what permissions are necessary for the game, and what aren't? How many apps are submitted to the Meta Store, and how many are rejected? Is the "testing" of the apps done manually or is it automated? These are some of the questions that I throughout about and I would appreciate if someone can share their experiences. Is there a way to fetch the number of times our app was downloaded from the store or App Lab? I tried checking analytics and all the menu items appear empty. Also is there a difference with accessing analytics between an app on the Quest Store vs an app on App Lab?970Views2likes0CommentsApp Lab Submission
I got a review from Oculus reviewer saying i´m using a known IP, which i don´t. Is there any way to make the review process more friendly? why can´t we reach reviewers directly? as a developer i have to make and upload another version build just to write feedback on the "comments for the reviewer", which is ridiculous. I keep getting this error when trying to upload my build from unity using the Oculus CLI, I am using the same Keystore I've used for months. ERROR: The APK is signed with a different certificate. Be sure to use the same keystore and key as used for a previous version. Anyone know whats up?5.2KViews3likes21CommentsGeo-blocking in Oculus Store, possible or not?
Hi, We are prepping our first VR-film for release in the Oculus Store (App Lab and Rift), but we still have the film circulating on festivals and that raises concerns of releasing it world-wide in the store. Coming from the film industry I'm quite used to geo-blocking and selling rights for different countries or territories (several countries bundled together, a contintent or similar). I've not found any useful information if this is possible to do in the Oculus Store, so I thought perhaps some of you who have shipped a VR-application knows if this is possible? If someone at Oculus support/store sees this, I'd really like some information about this. Happy developing everyone!Solved2.5KViews0likes2CommentsPublishing an Oculus Rift Game / Application to specific countries.
Hi People! A client of mine wants to publish an Oculus Rift Application though the Oculus Store only to specific countries. They don´t want the App to be available through the Oculus Store Worldwide. Is it possible to achieve this through the Oculus Store? Best Regards503Views0likes0CommentsOculus dictating game price and sales discount.
Game price: As I have added more levels/updates to my game since release and about to unleash another 'biggie' I have decided to up the price from £7.99 - £9.99. Not an issue to do at any other stores but here I find this "The Oculus Store Team reviews pricing for all apps in the store. We may reach out with price recommendations during the submission process." Why am I not allowed to change the price of my game until someone at Oculus decides to review the price? How often does this reviewing process happen? I'm the one who has worked for 2 years on the game, shouldn't I get to dictate the price? Sale discount: Whenever I have applied to have my game on sale for a 20% discount Oculus ups it to 50%! I then hear from potential customers that they were dissuaded from purchasing because of the low price! As I'm in Early access the only way to get discovered is to enter a sale but I'm now loathe to do so because of Oculus interference. Again, I worked 2 years on this game, why can't I dictate my discount like I can at every other store! I can't have a "New update" badge applied to notify customers when I've made an update and there is nowhere to post any announcements about upcoming updates. It's constant hurdles like this that infuriates me and I'm seriously considering taking my game off the store until it's completed as this just isn't the place to have an Early access title available.852Views0likes1CommentIs it possible to charge PER USE, for an app in the Oculus store?
I have a client that wants to develop an app for the Oculus Go, and he wants to charge per use. This app will be used in workshops. Is this possible? If not, can I publish the app as a free app, and password protect the content? Using an internal user/pass mechanism. Thanks.766Views0likes1Comment
