S2S REST request not working on some users
So I have a backend for my game and I want to call some S2S requests to get user's data, purchaes and verify purchases. I am using the end point https://graph.oculus.com/${APP_ID}/viewer_purchases to get user's purchases. I provide access_token, user_id, and fields. Just like it mentions in the documention for IAP here https://developers.meta.com/horizon/documentation/native/ps-iap-s2s. The requests are working just fine with some users, but sometimes i enter a user id and get this error: here is an example of it working: if i just enter a random user id: (translation: it says thats an invalid user id) This is not just for this user, it happens for many users. Also it is happing for other requests like https://graph.oculus.com/${USER_ID} to get verified org_id and in consuming and verifying requests. I know that some of these requests dont work for meta test users (users that meta itself uses to test the game) but these users are real players. If anyone has any idea why this is happening please let me know. Side note: the consume_entitlement request also doesn't work sometimes where it throws a 500 is_transient error with code 2 but it still consumes the purchase correctly. weird...39Views0likes0CommentsNew Game Idea - Configurable Game Board
US Patent - Interactive Player Board Game I’ve recently been granted my first US Patent on 11/05/2024 for the idea to have a configurable game board with technology to check whether a rule of the game has been satisfied. Was wondering if anyone would be interested in developing this type of game for the Oculus. I see the possibility of having the user be able to generate their own game board depending on the theme (exercise, eating, traveling, etc), setting the number of spaces for their game board, and have the ability to make this into a private game or public game. The user can invite friends to play on the game board and it can be played asynchronously. If the theme is exercise then if they roll a 1, they need to do 10 jumping jacks. The oculus will be able to see whether that task is completed successfully. If so they can roll again and see what task they need to perform next. Each game can be considered to be a pod and can invite others to join. Each person that joins is a pea in the pod because of their similar interest in the theme. Certain pods can become quite big with many peas. You can use the potential of these pods to generate income through ad revenues. The ads can target specific pods that may relate to the product. Please reach out to me if you think is a viable idea and can be developed. Thanks!286Views0likes0CommentsAdd Chinese input method for Chinese players
Can you add Chinese input method for Chinese players? Now more and more Chinese players have purchased quest3 and quest3s. Although a series of troublesome operations such as VPN are required, the quest equipment is very good, and more and more players are joining the quest. However, more and more Chinese players have reported that the system does not have a Chinese input method, which has a great impact on social aspects, such as Bilibili, the largest video platform in China. I found that YouTube VR has a Chinese input method, so this should not be difficult for developers. I hope developers can add a Chinese input method for Chinese players451Views0likes0CommentsOculus quest 2 not working (black screen)
A while back my oculus quest 2 stopped working only showing a black screen and when I go into the meta horizon app I find nothing wrong so I try the trouble shoot menu and it says my quest is locked, I click on my profile in the meta website, it says I haven’t done anything wrong, I try to reach support but I can’t because my serial number doesn’t show any results for my quest, I just need help so that I can reset this garbage sell it and buy something that is actually useful.278Views0likes0CommentsRunning 2 or more simultaneous VR apps on Quest
Hi everyone, I'm a PhD student working on a Meta Quest app for accessibility. My current pipeline intends to run a Quest app native on-headset, stream a live feed to a PC (which processes some data from the app), then route some data from the PC back to the headset. Ideally, I'd like to run an application on-device in the background on my Quest that processes the I/O and can run simultaneously with X other app on the device (e.g. send information from Beat Saber to the PC and back). Due to performance restrictions I cannot just run everything on PC. I'm fine with having a tethered connection to the PC to send information from the headset to the PC, but I still need the ability to run Native apps on Quest and display audio/visual data back to the headset. I'm familiar with the Oculus Performance HUD that's able to show a live performance graph on top of Native apps, so there's definitely a way to do this. But it seems like that app may have privileged access to do so (unless I'm mistaken, which I hope I am). As a researcher, I don't mind if a solution requires the headset to be in developer mode, but I don't see anywhere that explains how the performance HUD works or how we could emulate it in our own apps. Does anyone have any ideas on how to run 2 (or more) simultaneous apps on Quest? I'm currently using a Quest 3 but have access to a Quest Pro if needed. I've already checked out related posts (e.g. 1 2 3 4 5) which appear dead, unanswered, or unrelated, as well as the v66 background audio feature releasing soon (not yet available on my headset at time of writing), but that wouldn't solve this issue on its own either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! 🙂1.2KViews0likes3CommentsNew game idea!
I think that Meta could make a Shark Tank game where you have to come up with an idea for a new product and then could experience actually being at the Shark Tank studio and walking around using the joys stick! It could use the microphone used for the Meta assistant to let the player talk and it could use ai or something to sound like the sharks to make it really feel like Shark Tank! I mean i don't have a working Meta Quest to play it but i think it could be a cool idea.327Views0likes0CommentsPlease don't break Android settings if you can't give something equivalent.
Today I found my Quest3 Date/Time is totally wrong. (Yes, the automatic date/time adjustment look doesn't work.) I try to adjust the date/time manually.(Otherwise, I can't access Google, due to a TLS certification expires error.) Then, I found you give me the time setting only, without date setting. I don't think adjust date and time manually is a good choice, so I check the network and NTP configuration. Now I have been confirmed my network, especially UDP connectivity is OK. But the Quest date/time automatic adjustment still doesn't work. So I began to checking the NTP configuration. After I put `settings put global ntp_server cn.pool.ntp.org`, I got `SntpClient: Unknown host: cn.pool.ntp.org`... I tried many NTP server configuration, includes `time.windows.com` and use IP address directly. The SntpClient still error. At last, I use `am start com.android.settings` to launch the Android settings directly. Fortunely, the Android settings is not broken. Otherwise I will have no chance to fix the basic date/time problem.492Views0likes0CommentsWindows Volumetric Apps on Meta Quest announced for Developers
Microsoft announced Volumetric Windows apps are coming to Meta Quest at Build today. If i'm understanding it correctly, it looks like Developers that currently have mixed reality Windows apps or 3D objects can extend interaction to the Meta Quest from their Windows machine or Windows 365 via a new volumetric API. The screenshots show several virtual application windows open, with a 3D Xbox controller model being handled by the user and dismantled virtually. I use my headset on a Sailboat and in a marine environment - which is exposed to dynamic motion ALOT. haha I left a couple of notes here - sadly - I feel they may become lost to the ether, but so be it. C'est la Vie. Website I am happy to say - that when looking for news of updates or future direction of features - online YT videos are not my bag, and I am surprised all-the-time when I come to the meta site and find just the right amount of information, either about patch viability, new features or about general app and use case info. Love that. I wish I had an inside look on upcoming prospective features and experimental environments that y'all are testing. I do understand why tentative commitments are shied away from, Gen-Pop can be cruel in their choice of what the misconstrue. . (The wilds) I am excited about how you can push the envelope - and I wish I knew more about what y'all have tried versus what y'all have chosen to stick with. The website is great tho - I really enjoy the depth of content here. I like the high level discussion best, which can be harder to find. Dynamic Motion I wish I knew how to help the stability. I will often get kicked out of apps, because of an anomaly of motion. and when the headset resets - I'll have to re-manage my windows. It would be nice if there was more reliance on anchoring to the room environment rather than anchoring via the gyro. I dunno if that would be a slider. UI The menu bar - while these resets happen, will default to center screen. while that is fine and well, while typing on my keyboard and mouse - my hand tracking will often graze over the menu and I will inadvertently click onto apps and what have yous. It would be nice if we could pin default positions for the menu. Actually - When it comes to UI, I sure do wish the whole environment was a little more 3D rather than a series of 2D windows. But these things will come. That probably has to do more with the website coding. My experience in the 'Softspace' app leaves me wanting! Privacy Since I use the headset in conjunction with Laptops in a fleet environment, and also in my personal life - It would be nice If I could have multiple logins; that I could casually switch (5 sec or less) - So I could have a professional environment and a personal environment - I don't want messages from my GF to pop up during a screening or tutorial with strangers. So That would be a nice bit of privacy filter. It would be a high-trust use case for me, so it could be a casual toggle. I can also see the use case of full "Guest" login or multiple logins (think windows) But that wasn't so much what I was getting at. END750Views0likes1Comment
