PC FREEZES when plugging in CV1 USB
When I plug in my Rift CV1's USB cable into my motherboard the whole PC freezes and the only way to turn it off is via a forced shut down by holding the power button. If I leave it plugged in when starting, the PC freezes during or shortly after the Meta Horizon Link app starts. I've tried updating NVIDIA graphics drivers, updating/reinstalling Meta Horizon Link, updating motherboard drivers, disabling USB power saving on individual devices but nothing works. I've also tried both USB ports direct from the motherboard chipset and also ones that go through an internal controller first, with the same end result.21Views0likes2CommentsQuest 3 — Still no PC audio when using Link via USB-C (2025)
Hi everyone, I am reopening this issue because it still happens in 2025. My Quest 3 loses all PC audio when using Link cable. Windows shows “Oculus Virtual Audio Device” and the audio meter moves, but there is no sound in the headset. Cable has been tested by the app and works at full speed. If I use the “Repair” option in the Meta/Oculus PC app, the audio works again. But after a few days, the problem returns and I have to run Repair again. This happens almost every week. This makes the headset annoying to use because repairing the app takes several minutes and should not be necessary for basic audio output. Why this is a problem: -Repairing the app every time: takes several minutes -closes services and restarts the PC app -sometimes resets parts of the configuration -shouldn’t be necessary for such a basic feature What I already checked: -Oculus Virtual Audio Device set as default in Windows -Volume and sound device settings are correct -Good USB 3 cable and port -Quest audio works fine in standalone mode -Windows 11 fully updated -Meta PC app fully updated What I am looking for: Are other users still experiencing this? Does anyone know what keeps breaking the audio driver? Is there a permanent fix that avoids repairing the app constantly? Meta support: when will this known issue be solved??? Thanks in advance for any help or new information.147Views2likes6CommentsBrand new Meta Quest 3S not pairing
I've bought my first brand new VR headset on Amazon, on the official Meta shop, a Meta Quest 3S. No on a shady reseller. I've spent at least 5 hours trying to pair the headset on my Android phone, via the Meta Horizon app. I'm still stuck at the pair with the Horizon app screen on the Quest, which is for now a 300+$ worthless brick. I might add that i'm a senior systems engineer, more able with computers / gadgets than most people ... Both the Quest and the smartphone are on the 5GHz Wifi 5 channel (802.11ac) The bluetooth is enabled on the smartphone I've tried pairing on two separate Meta accounts I select the correct headset model (Quest 3S) I've tried erasing the cache, the data, and desinstalling the Meta Horizon app I've factory reseted the headset a dozen of times During the pairing, when i type a wrong pin code, the pairing is instantly failed, and the app asks me the pin When i type the good pin code, the pairing takes time then shows the "unable to connect to your headset", asking me to restart the app, install the last version or factory reset the headset Steps i've already taken The Meta Quest Link on Windows 10 doesn't work, despite the headset being miraculously recognised via a usb cable . It asks me to enable the Air Link, which is controlled on the headset, which i cannont use ... The SteamVR doesn't work either. No access to professionally trained support when i try to navigate the sh*tty Meta support site. My product number isn't recognised, and Meta refuses support. I only have access to a community forum for a paid product, which Meta is supposed to provide proper support. For now, i feel like i've beeen scammed. I've got about 2 weeks to make all that work and prove it's viable technology. If not, I'll ask a refund, and shop for a more expensive headset, but more serious. Can someone give me some really useful clues ? Or lead me to a real support form ? ThanksSolved376Views1like7CommentsAn alternate way to use your mobile in Meta Quest
Having tried one of the apps to connect my Android phone to Meta (without success) I happened upon a really good solution that works without using ´developer mode´and all the issues that accompany it. DisplayPass is a free pairing solution available on Android and Meta. It´s really simple to pair the transmitter (Android) and receiver (Meta) devices on the same WiFi network, at which point you get to see your phone display in a typical Meta virtual window ... without any discernible lag. "Great" you say, "but I don´t just want to cast my mobile device to the Meta, I want to use it" No problem. Just invest in a 2.4g/Bluetooth keyboard and mouse that supports Android. I bought a combo by Subblim for 20 euros that allows connection to my PC, Android and Meta, with hotkeys to switch between them. During Android connection a cursor displayed on the mobile screen acts just like your finger with clicking, swiping and dragging, so when connected through DisplayPass you can operate almost anything on the phone using the mouse. And with hot swapping between the PC and Meta as well, it's great for productivity.103Views1like0CommentsMeta Quest 3 Suddenly Not Connecting to PC
I’ve been using my Meta Quest 3 with my PC for a while now without any issues. I was able to copy files back and forth between the headset and the PC just fine. But recently, it suddenly stopped connecting. When I plug in the USB cable, I still get the notification bubble on the headset asking me to allow access. I press it as usual, but nothing shows up on the PC — no drive, no device, nothing. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: factory reset both the headset and the PC Tried multiple USB cables (including the one that used to work) Verified that my phone and other devices connect to the PC without any issues Still, the Quest 3 won’t show up on the computer. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on what might be causing it or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!66Views1like1Commentextreme link lag

Device: Quest 2 Currently up-to-date on v79.1034. Developer settings are enabled. MTP Notification is enabled. I have a cable and port connection that works with other devices to connect storage to my Windows PC. When I connect the Quest 2 with the USB-C cable I receive no notification, no sound, checking notifications manually through the bell icon also doesn't help. This has been an issue since I updated a couple weeks back and I'd rather not reset the headset again however currently I can't access it through USB cable. My PC also doesn't seem to make a sound when I plug it in.24Views0likes0CommentsPc not detecting pair with Meta Quest 3
I’ve been trying to pair my Meta Quest 3 with my gaming laptop using Air Link. On my Quest 3, I can select my PC and press “Pair,” but nothing happens—no prompt appears on my PC, and the headset does not connect. Using a Link Cable works perfectly fine, but I don’t have a high-quality cable, so I would like to use Air Link instead, as it would be much more convenient. I’ve also noticed that other people on the forums are experiencing the same problem, and the ones I’ve seen all seem to be using laptops or gaming laptops. I’m not sure if this is related, but it could be worth noting Things ive tried Both PC and Quest are on the same 5 GHz network. Firewall and antivirus disabled. Oculus PC app run as administrator. Oculus services restarted. Reinstalled Oculus PC app completely. Verified router allows LAN communication Confirmed Air Link is enabled in headset and PC. Hello ! I want to install games on SideQuest, but when i plug my Meta Quest 2 into my PC, nothing happens, the headset is not detected. What is the solution ?233Views0likes24CommentsCannot Get My Quest 2 to Link to My Asus ROG Strix G15 Laptop
I just bought this Quest used and I've spent a whole 3 hours trying to get this to work but I just can't. I've been having a weird string of issues. It will not connect via link cable (though I don't have an actual link cable but just a regular 10 ft type c to type c cable, so that could be my issue on that part) though when I plugged it into my computer, I accidentally clicked "import images" when the command pops up, so now whenever I try to plug it in, it immediately opens up the pictures app on my laptop. Then, I got airlink to work once, but it was extremely bugged and I had to restart my oculus because it ended up freezing, and it wouldn't connect again. Then I got a red pop up in the desktop app that said my PCs hardware was incompatible, but I know for a fact it was because I checked the compatibility page, so I closed the app and reopened it and that pop up was gone. I am honestly stumped at this point, My Quest 2 is updated to the newest software, and my laptop is fully updated, all drivers are updated as far as I'm aware, I went through what I thought the culprits could be. My laptop specs are: Intel core i7 16 GB RAM Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (I know 2050 is incompatible, but it didn't say anything about 2060 being incompatible) Currently running Windows 11 If anyone has some explanations, please let me know, I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong!48Views0likes0Comments
