Hi! I've been trying to use my air link recently and something weird came up. Lately, when I connect to my pc through an air link over my wifi, the ping often skyrockets and the screen wobbles and this happens consistently. I also experience frequent lag issues. I figured that this was just poor wifi so I stopped using my link for a while. I decided today to try and use it again. I initially encountered major lag issues. When I tried to connect the link, the display in quick settings listed my pc successfully and would display the message "Wifi strength: medium". I attempted to use a link cable, and when this happened I was met with a glitchy connection notification, and then when enabled, a black screen with nothing but the meta logo and lots of shakyness. Of course, I unplugged the cable and disabled the link. I then tried air link again. However, now the air link displays "Ethernet connection: none" and every time I try to connect to my PC I get a wobbly black screen and that's it, if it doesn't outright disconnect on launch. I have tried restarting headset and PC, restarting the link, re-pairing the headset twice, even unplugging it from its charge cable. Nothing has worked. Can somebody please help me figure out how to get my headset to use wifi instead of ethernet so I can connect it to my PC?14Views0likes0CommentsQuest 2 Stuck on Link Loading Screen With White Meta Logo
So basically quest link (using a cable) worked yesterday perfectly fine, but today I tried to launch it and it gets stuck on a screen with a white meta logo, and never loads into the pcvr. I have a feeling this is something to do with the broken update they released a few days ago 78.1---. IF YOU HAVE A FIX PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I have to use VR for my job and this is making it so I can't work.84Views0likes7CommentsQuest Link via cable low performance after update
I'm really upset with the performance of Quest software nowadays. I was playing Alyx, Metro and Beat Saber a while ago with zero issues (recommended settings and 600mb bitrate on debug). For some reason, after some updates, I'm getting unplayable stutters even on the Link menu while using the headset. Nothing changed on my hardware. I'm still playing all my flat games on 2k with high fps, so why they reduced my recommended settings and I'm getting really bad fps even on 0.7x? Hi, I've observed a consistent issue with Meta Quest Link (tested with Quest 3 and Windows 11 PC): Scenarios: Internet available (PC online): ββ Headset connects instantly via Air Link or cable. Everything works flawlessly. No internet (PC offline): ββ Headset gets stuck during connection with black screen, the Meta logo and controller lasers, then freezes β never reaches the desktop. Link app on the PC shows that the headset is connected Internet available during Meta Link app launch, then disconnected: ββ Headset connects normally, even after internet is lost. This suggests that the Meta Quest Link app requires internet during startup, likely for authentication. Once it's launched with internet, it works fine even after going offline. Request: Please consider allowing the Meta Link app to start without internet for local-only use. This would greatly help users in offline or secure network environments. Hello, Since the last firmware update of my Quest 3, when I connect my Quest 3 to my PC using Quest Link, when using the Quest 3, the guardian limit of a room next to mine is always displayed. Even when I start a PC VR game (Flight Simulator for exemple) the blue limits of the room next to mine are still displayed on top of Flight Simulator. So the only solution I have found is to disable the guardian limit inside the Quest Link parameters on the Quest 3. But playing a VR game with no guardian is dangerous, plus there is a second problem : if I do not re-enable the guardian using the Quest Link parameters, then if I use my Quest 3 without connecting it to my PC, there is no way to re-enable the guardian, all the guardians parameters in the Quest 3 are greyed out. So then I am obliged to connect back my Quest 3 to my PC just to re-enable the guardian. So here are my 2 questions : - while using Quest Link (cable) how to force the guardian limits, which belong to the room next to mine, to not be permanently displayed (as it is also displayed while I play my PC games) ? - Once the guardian has been disabled in the Quest link parameters (while connected to a PC), how to re-enable the guardian on a Quest 3 without having to connect it to a PC ?? Hello, I used to be able to play on my VR with a link cable perfectly fine, but I recently got a new computer, and it doesn't work. I checked the requirements and my PC meets them without question, but whenever I try to connect the headset, my computer gives me messages like "Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article." I checked that article, but nothing seemed to help. The Quest program on my computer shows that my headset is connected and ready to launch, and so does my headset, but when I launch it through the link cable, it just doesn't load, and it stays on a black screen. I've also tried connecting my headset through a USB hub instead of the actual computer to connect it through USB 3, but it still doesn't work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it? Thank you!Solved27KViews2likes41CommentsCan't disable Xbox controller from interacting with my headset
When a controller is connected to my PC while using (wired) Oculus Link and I am viewing my monitors from within the headset, there will be a dot on the screen that follows my head movements. If I press 'A' on my Xbox Elite 2 Controller, it will act as if I left-clicked where that dot is, 'B' brings up the In-Headset keyboard context menu, left-trigger moves my in headset window, and right-trigger seems to snap my cursor back to the dot. The thing is, I don't want my controller interacting with my headset at all. I want to use my headset, with my computer viewing my monitors in headset and play a game with my controller without those inputs that were meant for the game, also interact with the headset. Another example is that if I'm playing something like Elite Dangerous, which is (very!) VR capable, but needs more input capability like the mouse and keyboard or bunches and bunches of mapped buttons on a controller. To be honest, the controller is easier for games like Elite Dangerous for most tasks but I can't have my 'A' button interfacing with the headset. Not related to Elite, but I also don't need my left-trigger to suddenly start launching in-headset window that I'm currently looking at all over the place. If I need input within my headset, I will grab my headset-controllers that I've set safely just off to the side, or if I can't find them, I can take off my headset to look for them. What's more, if I'm going to interface with my computer's monitors, I'll either be close enough to the computer to use the mouse and keyboard or I'll put back on and use the headset's controllers. I'm honestly not sure how this wasn't a user scenario when designing it. I've seen other posts from years ago and there hasn't been any change in this behavior to accommodate this scenario. I understand that this doesn't fit all persons because maybe the computer is far away from the Oculus and the only input you have in your hands is the controller but, in my situation, I need the ability to disable that. Is it possible to do this?8.2KViews16likes21Comments
