Meta Link freezes after a few seconds
After installing latest Meta Horizon Windows app update (85.0.0.239.552), the display inside headset freezes (sometimes goes black, similar to when proximity sensor kicks in, but while still wearing VR headset) after a few seconds after establishing cabled link (official 5m cable). Have to restart PC and re-establish Link to get it to work again, but then same happens after a few seconds. Can still hear audio inside headset, and when using games it seems to do head tracking (monitor screen updates, but not inside headset). This also happens inside the Meta Link view (grey environment with grid floor and ceiling inside VR headset after establishing link). Firmware in VR headset is also on latest version, This happened after updating Meta Horizon Windows app on 3rd/4th March. Before this it was working perfect. Have tested this on 4 different PC's, with 3 different Meta Quest 3 headsets and one Quest Pro, with same result. Hardware on test PC's: Windows 11, different i9 processors (13th/14th gen, Intel Core Ultra 9), RTX 5090 laptop, RTX 5070 Ti Desktop, RTX 4090 desktop. 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers 595.71 WHQL driver + latest Windows updates329Views3likes5CommentsLink not working in any capacity on new quest 3
I’m not new to this. I bought the quest 1 and 2 on release day of each. I was a little late to quest 3 but I’ve got one now. I’ve tried everything in my power to get link to work, including but not limited to: Trying different cables and different ports. I used 3 different cables, all USB 3.0, in every possible port on my pc. Including a USB hub Launching airlink instead. This works somewhat, but is unable to launch steamvr which is what I am really after restarting headset and computer. They always say try this, but it didn’t fix anything before you ask me the stupid questions, yes I am absolutely 100% sure my PC meets the minimum specifications, and I am 100% sure that they are both on the same network. When I plug my headset into my pc, I get the connection notification in both the headset and windows, so I know there is some level of communication going on. Why the meta desktop app or my quest are unable to recognize eachother is one of the most frustrating mysteries I have came across in a minute. I am seemingly unable to attach images in these forum posts, but I have relevant images. One of which shows my PC monitor searching for a link, and then my in quest screen also searching for a link, with the cable connecting the two clearly visible. Looking to get this resolved with a patch of some sort, as I’m assuming this is a software issue (also yes I am running the latest version of all relevant softwares)908Views1like15CommentsMeta Quest 3 CABLE LINK USB 3.0 not working
I've been using my Meta quest 3 headset for over a year now on a much older computer with bare minimum specs. As of recent, i updated my entire computer, and had no issues for a month. As of the last 2 weeks, my headset link has been disconnecting frequently, to the point i have to change which usb slot my headset connected to. Now, my headset will not find a link connection in ANY usb 3.0 port in my computer, and will only work at lower quality in a usb 2.0 slot. I will re-iterate, i had no issues with this specific issue previously on an older computer, and was fine for a month with my new one. Everything connects to my PC fine, so i know its not my usb ports. I have checked all my computer hardware components with what is and isn't supported, + minimum required components for Quest link - to which my pc is much above the minimum required specs. My meta quest link app has also been frequently telling me my "Pc doesnt meet the minimum requirements", which again - i cross checked the minimum requirements and supported components and everything should work fine. I'm running 32GB of DDR5, GEFORCE NVIDIA RTX 5070, and an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor98Views0likes9CommentsLink or Headset Freezing
when i use meta quest link for with the meta quest 3, and i boot up vrchat, or sometimes in the link menu it will freeze, at least on the headset, but on my computer when i look at my monitor its still working. I've tried everything i know, and I've hit a dead end on what to do.45Views0likes3CommentsMeta Quest Help Centre webpage opens on PC startup, How do i stop it?
Hey guys so recently tried to do stuff with my old Quest 1 headset, installed the horizon link stuff and after finding out it goes out of its way to stay running on startup i uninstalled the software using its wizard. The apps files are no longer appearing in the install location but every single time i start up my PC it opens the support centre in Firefox. Does someone know how to get this to stop? its really annoying and has me wondering if there is some leftover bloatware that is running checks to see if meant to be uninstalled files are running and opening the support page because they aren't.44Views0likes5CommentsPairing Quest 3
Why is it that I have had this headset for over a year and have only been able to connect by wire maybe twice during this time frame.I look back at other solutions to only see that this problem has been going on for years. I will not recommend the Quest 3 or any Meta products in the future. Thanks a lot for disappointing hundreds of users.36Views0likes2CommentsCan't click anything using Remote Desktop with Quest 3
Remote Desktop connects OK and I see the monitors, but when the pointer or hand tracker hovers over the screen, overlay buttons pop up and nothing can be clicked on the monitor. Can't launch anything, can only switch monitors, change resolution or disconnect. Am I missing a step?Solved21KViews3likes32CommentsBring Back the Oculus Home!!
While I understand the need for performance optimization, removing the Home environment entirely has removed a core layer of the PCVR ecosystem, the trophy and decoration system. PCVR users have the hardware overhead to support these environments. By forcing us into the minimalist Void Menu Meta has removed the incentive to collect in-game items and interact with the platform UI. Please consider bringing back a persistent, customizable "Home" for Link and Rift users who want more than just a 2D menu. How come you guys gave Quest cool 3d environments and PCVR users are stuck with some weird Interface. And if the Quest 1/2 can't run it then turn it off by default for them. I'm just saying Oculus Home used to feel more futuristic then the "Modern" Dash Menu ever has. Again Meta please consider bringing back what made Oculus Link special.98Views1like4CommentsOculus Rift not tracking correctly
The issue i’m having is that my sensors aren’t tracking my headset, my controllers work perfectly fine though they are above me and off to the side. I keep getting the issue of “Your sensor is tracking your position but cant see the front of your headset.” Its an old oculus rift cv1 that i recently got a new coord for, so the coord shouldnt be a problem. Ive cleaned my sensors, reset my pc, reset my oculus, im not sure what else to try. If i am emailed i can send logs if that helps.36Views0likes2CommentsLink needing PC restart to reconnect
Hello, I've started having this issue just recently, as it was working fine before. Basically the meta link would work fine until 5-10 minutes in, then the headset display would freeze, though the audio and head movement did not. Restarting the headset and re-plugging the link cable in don't work, and if I were to disconnect the horizon link, then no matter what I did, the link would not connect anymore. The only way to get the link started again that I've found is to just do a full PC restart. I'm using a Quest 3 and a brand new link cable, but I doubt those are the issue. I've tried some fixes I've seen on here but none worked. And before you tell me about AirLink, no, it's too unstable for me to use.Solved107Views1like3Comments
