Quest 3: Air Link and Charging
Hey supporters, after upgrading to a new fast wifi-router I've tried to connect to my PC by air link. Everything went fine and the wireless connection is fast and stable. But while using air link it is not possible to use an external battery since the USB-port is disabled. While using the Quest standalone the external battery works fine, so I cannot understand why it is not allowed to use it for charing when air link is activated. For me, it semms to be a bug and neither a feature. I didn't find any option to disable the deactivation of the USB-port. If there is such an option, maybe one can tell me where it can be found. Otherwise, I would like to understand why the USB-port is deactivated when using air link. Using the external battery often doubles the time you can use the Quest until charging is necessary. Hello, I used to be able to play on my VR with a link cable perfectly fine, but I recently got a new computer, and it doesn't work. I checked the requirements and my PC meets them without question, but whenever I try to connect the headset, my computer gives me messages like "Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article." I checked that article, but nothing seemed to help. The Quest program on my computer shows that my headset is connected and ready to launch, and so does my headset, but when I launch it through the link cable, it just doesn't load, and it stays on a black screen. I've also tried connecting my headset through a USB hub instead of the actual computer to connect it through USB 3, but it still doesn't work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it? Thank you!Solved28KViews3likes51CommentsMeta Quest Link / Air Link Stuck on 3 Dots (No Video): Advanced Fixes Needed
We are still dealing with one of the most persistent and frustrating bugs in the Quest Link ecosystem. I am making this post because the endless "three-dot loading screen" issue is still happening to users for days, weeks, or even months, and there has been no effective, consistent fix provided by Meta. The problem: My Meta Quest headset successfully connects to the PC app, which reports "Connected," but the headset itself gets stuck on the black screen with the three pulsing white dots indefinitely. I can often hear the PC audio, but I receive absolutely no video feed. This bug makes PC VR unusable. I have tried almost every known solution to fix this, including all standard and many advanced troubleshooting steps.49Views0likes1CommentOculus rift cv1 connected but no display

Ive also tried adding the ovrserver64x to my graphics settings and still nothing i really have no idea how to fix this. Hello to all who see this, I am a bit of a pickle and do not know how to go about remedying this problem. I'm using an Oculus Rift S and here lately whenever I get on any VR game, I can only play it for a period of time before the link app itself crashes. I have had the headset itself since 2020. I would be playing then suddenly the screen freezes and goes black, then immediately after that I would peak at my PC screen and see that the app itself has crashed and restarted. Does anyone know what is going on with it? I really do not want to have to drop the money for a new headset.93Views0likes6CommentsBlack Screen when using Virtual Desktop in Oculus PC App
UPDATE: Solution found by Hansaplastique! THANK YOU! It seems this method forces Intel(R) UHD Graphics to render for OVRServer_x64.exe. At least, that's what's selected under "Power Saving" for my PC. My games still run fine using this method, since they still use the GPU. The dashboard/OVRServer doesn't utilize the GPU while in use. Changing the preferred processor in Nvidia Control panel for OVRServer_x64.exe does NOT solve the issue, although I thought it would effectively accomplish the same thing. Many thanks to Hansaplastique. You're a real gamer. I made a video tutorial for the solution for anyone confused. https://youtu.be/H_WbAHVV7o4 __________________ Original Post Below -------------------- Oculus app isn't showing desktop, just black screen. Though, I can still control the cursor with my controller. I have a Rift S and a Quest 2 and both have the issue. So far, I've restarted, repaired install, and installed latest graphics card drivers but have had no success. I also completely uninstalled and re-installed and am still having the issue. Currently blaming the recent update. My Quest 2 is running on v. 27, because v. 28 is not yet available to me. But I doubt that's issue because my Rift S also has the problem. OLD 4/25/21: I've been working with Oculus Support, but so far no amount of troubleshooting has solved the issue. My working theories are: 1. Nvidia Optimus laptops 2. The new update just glitched out the integrated Virtual Desktop in the Oculus PC application. This issue is not present on my Desktop computer. I run VR on a MSI GL75 Leopard 10SFK-029. I'm still able to play games, and the black screen is my only symptom.
