Meta Quest 3 Black Screen After Logo and Firmware Arrow — Hundreds of Us Have This Problem
Many Meta Quest 3 owners are experiencing the same serious issue after what appears to be a faulty firmware update. The headset starts normally, shows the Meta logo, then displays the down-arrow firmware symbol as if it’s updating. After that, the screen goes completely black and never turns back on. This problem has affected hundreds of users across multiple platforms, including Meta’s own community forums, Reddit, and Discord groups. Everyone describes the same sequence: Meta logo, firmware arrow loading, then a permanent black screen. People have already tried every official fix that Meta recommends: Rebooting the headset. Performing a full hard reset using the power and volume buttons. Installing the manual firmware update through the Meta update tool on a computer. Even after completing all of these steps successfully, the headset remains unusable. The issue clearly points to a defective firmware update or a corrupted boot process caused by the update itself, not user error or damage. Some customers have received replacements, while others have been denied support because their device is out of warranty. That inconsistency is unacceptable. A firmware defect that originates from Meta should not depend on warranty status. This needs to be recognized as a widespread product issue. Meta should take responsibility, publicly acknowledge the problem, and provide free repairs or replacements to all affected customers. Everyone affected should post here and share: When the problem started and what update version it followed. Any videos or photos showing the black screen sequence. What Meta Support said or offered in response. If enough reports are collected, this could draw the attention of consumer protection agencies, the media, or legal firms willing to pursue a class action. The goal is not to complain, but to get a fair solution for everyone who has been left with a bricked headset due to a faulty update. This issue is not isolated. It’s widespread, and it needs to be addressed now.517Views2likes7CommentsQuest3 causing unity build not responding on pc but works fine on laptop.
Hi everyone, just as my title mentioned, i am currently working on a Unity project with the passthrough feature on a user-defined shape. it works fine on editor mode and when i built it into an exe on my laptop. The build runs fine without any crashes. however when i port the build over to my pc, it had random unexpected crashes like not responding at times. i have tried several solutions such as removing multi-threading(unchecking graphics jobs) updating pc quest link app lowering graphics settings im unsure of what are the possible causes that may cause this crash , is it something to do with the project settings ? Or could it be Meta Unity package having some issues ? p.s please help its urgent :((18Views0likes0CommentsLink no longer detecting 3rd party cable
I have been using both a Quest 3 and 2 with a 3rd party cable for gameplay via link for months with no issues what so ever. However as i get onto play 2 days ago, suddenly the meta horizon link app detects the cable, says its charging at a slower rate and then stops detecting it almost immediately. This is after no previous issues at all on both platforms with both running smoothly. The official Quest cable works every second or third try but also runs into the same issue. Has anyone else had these issues in the last couple of days after v.83? Why is it after every update things no longer work when they were fine mere days ago. I have tried the following troubleshooting methods: Different Cable Different usb c port Different headset Uninstall/Reinstall Meta Horizon Link Factory reset headset Updated all graphics drivers Windows is up to date Checked for antivirus/firewalls51Views0likes2CommentsMeta Quest Link Installation Issue – Workaround Steps

I purchased a Rift S–compatible title. The order is completed and visible in my account, but the PC VR entitlement was not granted. The app does not appear in my Meta Quest Link desktop library and never attempts to download. This is not a hardware issue. Please regrant or refresh the PC entitlement for this purchase. The game in question Real VR Fishing lists Rift S as compatible.57Views1like12CommentsConnecting a child's Meta Horizon account to a new Meta Horizon account of the parent
The problem is a tiny bit complex... We are brainstorming for a while by now, haha, happy new year! Welcome to the future! :) So, my son's Meta Horizon (Meta Quest 3s VR, he is 10 years old) was connected to my Facebook account and everything went well. Yesterday my Facebook account got suspended and at the same time the VR too. My Facebook account was connected to an old email address, I have no access to that anymore. I don't really care about the lost Facebook account to be honest, even if it was hacked, I don't mind loosing that. I made my own Meta Horizon account via another email address where I can add my son as a minor, but he wants his "old" account with all his progress and Quest Cash. Is it even possible without the recovery of that old Facebook account? I have no access to the that old Facebook account and that email address either. Is emigration possible like this? Please help, my son is really upset and I want to help him asap! TIA22Views0likes2Commentsv83 "Beta" section missing in Link (Quest Pro)
I've seen several people encountering this issue, and I've many several people going to meta support with varying answers if anything is actually going to be done about it. With the release of v83 on both the VR headset's firmware, and the actual PC Link software, I've concluded that's it's an issue with the Meta Quest Link and not with the headset. For Christmas I was gifted a shiny new Quest Pro (mainly for the face tracking). So imagine my surprise with the problems that arose when I found out that I needed to enable PTC (Public Test Channel) for quest link, after downloading and testing VRCFT (No Issues, and I have the correct module installed), syncing my meta account, and transferring over all of my audio inputs/outputs, I found my FT still wasn't working. I figured that out after some research, and under the assumption it wouldn't take long, took off all of my equipment. For some reason, even when enabled, it still does not display the "beta" tab. Which is needed in order to bridge the Quest Pro's eye and facial expressions to other applications, as well as developer for Link. As well as, I've found that whenever I allow Link to make changes to my desktop, it gets stuck trying to download a different version of the app, which doesn't work properly either. It as well gets stuck, trying to find "OculusLink.exe" in the files, which are not present. The closest resemblance is called "Link.exe" among the files, which opens to the same application with an update loop. Upon renaming it, the app doesn't even open anymore. I've seen this problem among reddit, other forums, and even other friends experiencing the same issue. If anybody knows when or if this will be fixed by meta in v84/85, or if a patch is on the way. Do inform me as this has upset me a great deal, I was much looking forward to the Quest Pro. (Additional info: I have developer AND PTC enabled on my Quest Pro in standalone, developer and verification on my meta account, and PTC IS active on Link without any updates, without the beta tab anywhere to be found.)141Views2likes1CommentPC not meating the requirements, even though the PC is strong enough to easily handle VR.
Hi, My meta quest link app always says that my PC doesnt meet the requirements, even though I just bought a new PC. Here are the specs: GEFORCE RTX 5060 AMD 7 5700X 32GB of RAM 1TB storage. My older PC had a 1660 super in there and I never had that message pop up wich is strange, because you would think that the new PC would handle VR even better, but I have been getting quest link issues, like not connecting to my PC, even tough my quest is connected with a link cable. If anyone knows how to fix this issue that would help me out a lot! Thank you!369Views1like17Comments
