Meta Link freezes after a few seconds
After installing latest Meta Horizon Windows app update (85.0.0.239.552), the display inside headset freezes (sometimes goes black, similar to when proximity sensor kicks in, but while still wearing VR headset) after a few seconds after establishing cabled link (official 5m cable). Have to restart PC and re-establish Link to get it to work again, but then same happens after a few seconds. Can still hear audio inside headset, and when using games it seems to do head tracking (monitor screen updates, but not inside headset). This also happens inside the Meta Link view (grey environment with grid floor and ceiling inside VR headset after establishing link). Firmware in VR headset is also on latest version, This happened after updating Meta Horizon Windows app on 3rd/4th March. Before this it was working perfect. Have tested this on 4 different PC's, with 3 different Meta Quest 3 headsets and one Quest Pro, with same result. Hardware on test PC's: Windows 11, different i9 processors (13th/14th gen, Intel Core Ultra 9), RTX 5090 laptop, RTX 5070 Ti Desktop, RTX 4090 desktop. 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers 595.71 WHQL driver + latest Windows updates3.3KViews10likes37CommentsHorizon link not working
My Q3 was linking fine to my PC this afternoon, then literally an hour or two later, will not link. I'm using a usb 3.0 cable, it is in a USB 3 port, power management of USB port is set correctly. I get a notification saying 'Meta Quest Link isn't working correctly. Click here to check our support article'. There is no support article. I have restarted the headset and PC, repaired the Horizon app, logged out and back into the Horizon app, restarted the OVR service and I still can't get it to work. Anyone else having or had similar issues recently? Many Meta Quest 3 owners are experiencing the same serious issue after what appears to be a faulty firmware update. The headset starts normally, shows the Meta logo, then displays the down-arrow firmware symbol as if it’s updating. After that, the screen goes completely black and never turns back on. People have already tried every official fix that Meta recommends: Rebooting the headset. Performing a full hard reset using the power and volume buttons. Installing the manual firmware update through the Meta update tool on a computer. Even after completing all of these steps successfully, the headset remains unusable. The issue clearly points to a defective firmware update or a corrupted boot process caused by the update itself, not user error or damage. Some customers have received replacements, while others have been denied support because their device is out of warranty. That inconsistency is unacceptable. A firmware defect that originates from Meta should not depend on warranty status. This needs to be recognized as a widespread product issue. Meta should take responsibility, publicly acknowledge the problem, and provide free repairs or replacements to all affected customers. Everyone affected should post here and share: When the problem started and what update version it followed. Any videos or photos showing the black screen sequence. What Meta Support said or offered in response. If enough reports are collected, this could draw the attention of consumer protection agencies, the media, or legal firms willing to pursue a class action. The goal is not to complain, but to get a fair solution for everyone who has been left with a bricked headset due to a faulty update. This issue is not isolated. It’s widespread, and it needs to be addressed now.1.5KViews5likes11CommentsHaving to click the USB Detected notification before Link detects connection
My quest recently updated to v2.3.1027 which added the new Navigator UI. Before, I could just plug in a USB cable from my PC and the headset would ask me if I want to start Link. If I chose not to, I could go to the Link option in settings and it showed my PC as available. After updating, now when I connect the USB cable, it doesn't ask me to start Link. When I go to the Link settings, its showing that a USB cable isn't connected. I found that when I first plug in the USB cable, I need to have the headset on and click on the USB Detected notification that pops up. Just clicking on it allows Link to see my PC as available. This popup disappears after a few seconds and the only way I've found to get it back is to disconnect/reconnect the USB cable. Does anyone know of a way to restore the functionality so I don't have to click this notification every time? I do PCVR development and I prefer using USB connection.96Views0likes5CommentsOculus rift cv1 connected but no display

Hi everyone, We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem. What’s changed: The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected. Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual. Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.8.3KViews13likes153CommentsBricked oculus rift s
Ok i have a rift s, that worked fine and dandy perfectly for years. then suddenly after not using it for some time it stopped working. by stopped working i mean: it tracks my movement in games (when using oculusKiller, and sometimes when using the normal Meta Quest Link). only shows a black screen, or loads infinitely(3 dots). what ive done to try and fix it: restart pc reconnect cables different ports powered usb hub removing all other connected devices updating drivers complete pc wipe and reset. complete reinstall downgraded drivers and software (v24, v25, v28 all tested same result) tried oculusKiller (works better but still just shows a black screen, while still tracking movement, and playing audio) using a quest 2 with cable works (but disconnects often randomly) I dont know what is wrong and dont know how to fix whatever this is. I paid for this hardware and suddenly being unable to use it is unacceptable ALSO: i am unable to get support because the support thing says: "We couldn't find a device associated with the verification info provided. Please try again." (with a valid rift s serial number) i can also not find a different way to contact meta about this1.7KViews2likes12CommentsRick and Morty VR | SteamVR Audio not working

Hello, I'm primarily a PCVR user and got two titles to get with cross buy ("Shadow Point" and "Raccoon Lagoon"). Tried getting them with cross buy from Link app and getting "Purchase Failed / Error performing query." error. Addressed support on 18th February (ticket #09211349). It's been almost 2 months and nothing changed. My concerns are: 1. It's a global issue that happened after winter Link app overhaul. Has anyone managed to cross buy PCVR titles?! 2. Supports are not doing anything and just hoping the ticket will be closed. Is there a way to escalate the ticket? Two months is quite long time to resolve an issue. Also they provide generic responses like "we are working on the ticket, please wait". Kind regards, Alex.177Views0likes19Comments
