Help With PIN
Hey, I’m asking for help with the PIN feature on my meta quest 2. I had it in use then when taken off and set on a table for a minute to tend to other matters and returning it asked me for a pin and I was never aware of making one. So I turned it off and reset it and it was still there, then I tried resetting the PIN and my password which I found was different from the pin. I ended up factory resetting it from the site showing my devices then tried to get back on and the pin feature was still there. I tried to reset it on the headset manually and it says no command. I’ve now left it alone for some weeks hoping it would return to normal and it hasn’t. It’s still asking for a pin showing my account even though it’s factory reseted. I've bought my first brand new VR headset on Amazon, on the official Meta shop, a Meta Quest 3S. No on a shady reseller. I've spent at least 5 hours trying to pair the headset on my Android phone, via the Meta Horizon app. I'm still stuck at the pair with the Horizon app screen on the Quest, which is for now a 300+$ worthless brick. I might add that i'm a senior systems engineer, more able with computers / gadgets than most people ... Both the Quest and the smartphone are on the 5GHz Wifi 5 channel (802.11ac) The bluetooth is enabled on the smartphone I've tried pairing on two separate Meta accounts I select the correct headset model (Quest 3S) I've tried erasing the cache, the data, and desinstalling the Meta Horizon app I've factory reseted the headset a dozen of times During the pairing, when i type a wrong pin code, the pairing is instantly failed, and the app asks me the pin When i type the good pin code, the pairing takes time then shows the "unable to connect to your headset", asking me to restart the app, install the last version or factory reset the headset Steps i've already taken The Meta Quest Link on Windows 10 doesn't work, despite the headset being miraculously recognised via a usb cable . It asks me to enable the Air Link, which is controlled on the headset, which i cannont use ... The SteamVR doesn't work either. No access to professionally trained support when i try to navigate the sh*tty Meta support site. My product number isn't recognised, and Meta refuses support. I only have access to a community forum for a paid product, which Meta is supposed to provide proper support. For now, i feel like i've beeen scammed. I've got about 2 weeks to make all that work and prove it's viable technology. If not, I'll ask a refund, and shop for a more expensive headset, but more serious. Can someone give me some really useful clues ? Or lead me to a real support form ? ThanksSolved548Views1like7CommentsNew child account
Hi apologies if this has been asked before but struggling to find a good answer… new meta quest 3s bought for my 10 year old. I have set up a child account in my family account. Ideally I don’t want him switching to my adult account but it seems the only way to stop this is by using the pin? Also when the meta quest boots up it requires the pin and always logs into the parent account? so really is the only way to fix this Set up pin on adult account Every time he wants to play someone has to power it on and put in the pin, then switch to the child account if this is the case then it seems to be a flawed setup? What am I missing?88Views1like2CommentsOculus Payment Page & PIN Payment - don't display anymore
Hi, We are developing an Oculus Go app, so we created a test user to test the in-app purchase (IAP) that redirect to Oculus Payment confirmation. In the beginning, Oculus payment page ask us for PIN confirmation :) , and every purchase worked well. But now (after some purchases : same SKU multiple times), the purchase is automatically confirmed without asking us PIN confirmation or display Oculus Payment Confirmation page. We do not have clicked on any "Remember my PIN" button or anything else. How do we bring back the PIN confirmation payment and Oculus Payment Confirmation page for our test ? We have tryied to unistall app & install it again ; change Test Cards (successful to failed) ; remove and add again Test Cards ; but nothing works because Oculus always accept the payment without asking us to enter the PIN confirmation. We need this Oculus Payment Confirmation page & PIN confirmation, in order to see the IAP Name modifications we've made (Purchase "Name" labels updated). PS : it is impossible to change PIN code for Users Test from the app or Oculus Dashboard. Maybe we need to "Kill session" of the test user ? (But we are affraid that this action disconnect & reset the Oculus Go device and we will need to configure again User on Oculus Go.) Waiting for your help to display again Oculus Payment Page & PIN confirmation via a simple action (withtout reset Oculus Go device). Thank you for your help1.9KViews1like1CommentPinning down application - Oculus Go
Hello there Developers, On an android phone (lollipop and higher) it is possible to pin applications down, so the end user can't get into unpermissioned stuff. So I was wondering if there is a way to do the same on the Oculus Go? Also are there possibilities to do this in script? Use case: When I leave my Oculus GO at an event interested people can only use one application and nothing more. Virtual regards :* , Elledubi EDIT 12:02/08/12/2018 Another synonym I found is Kiosk Mode.648Views0likes1Comment
