How To Preview Play
I'm setup with the Quest 2 in Unity 2019.4.18f1. I can assemble and scene, go to build settings, build and run and it will build to my oculus and I can play what I made. However this is slow, can't I used the normal Play button to do a preview instead. When I press it currently, I get a black screen in the Unity Game window and nothing happens on my Quest 2. Any advice welcome please.728Views0likes0CommentsLaunch to Rift S on Press Play?
Hey guys, I have a Rift S that I would like preview my Unity build in. I'm using 2020.1.11F1, have XR Plugin Framework installed and Oculus Integration installed. When I push play and put headset on I just get the Normal Rift home screen stuff and nothing else. How do I preview my game without building it and just pushing "play?" Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. Have spent some time searching but have not found conclusive answers. Is it possible to preview my scene in the Editor (or on the headset directly) without building and deploying an APK? In other words is there some way to "play" my scene, use the controller, and move the camera around? Either using keyboard controls, or using a tethered headset?7.1KViews1like9CommentsUnity Preview Without Launching Rift?
My Rift is connected to my PC so that hitting the Play button in Unity always launches the Oculus application and uses the Rift's position for the camera. I'm new to Unity and am testing out physics scripts and don't need the headset to run every time I hit the play button. I have tried unchecking the OVRPlayerController, deleting the OVRPlayerController GameObject from my hierarchy, but it seems that if Project Settings > XR Settings has Oculus then it will still auto-launch on the Rift. Is there a method to not do that and instead use the standard Unity preview within the same project?466Views0likes0Comments
