Is horizon world going away for vr users?
After the events of a couple of months ago when meta announced that they were going to pull back on horizon world and then deciding not to, I thought we might be ok. Yesterday day I heard just the opposite again and that quest headsets will no longer be able to access worlds. When I try to login (to META) it asks for a selfie, but as shown in the screenshot (from the META login page) it won't let me upload. As I can't upload a selfie I can't access META support, which means I've had to create a brand new META account just to get support. 😤 Can you please help? My main META account is (apparently I can't tell you) and the email is (again apparently I can't put that here, even if I'm comfortable putting it here), I've been on facebook since pre-2009, and I think META is owned by FB so there shouldn't be any issues verifying me with all that user data. Also the META 3 I got today says no support available, can you tell me why? Hello esteemed Meta team, This evening I reviewed the lists regarding my account, @****, which was suspended due to integrity rules and not cancelled, but I am absolutely certain that I did not commit any of the acts mentioned! I’ve been experiencing a really frustrating pairing and connection issue with my Meta Quest recently, and I’m hoping someone here might recognize what’s happening or know a fix. The headset was previously working normally, but after attempting to reconnect it through the Meta Quest mobile app, the pairing process started behaving strangely. The headset appears in the app for a few seconds and initially looks like it’s connecting correctly, but then the process either freezes, endlessly loads, fails during syncing, or disconnects entirely before setup finishes. Sometimes the app says it’s connecting while the headset itself shows no progress, and other times the headset briefly pairs before disappearing again from the device list. I’ve been using my Meta Quest 3 with my PC for a while now without any issues. I was able to copy files back and forth between the headset and the PC just fine. But recently, it suddenly stopped connecting. When I plug in the USB cable, I still get the notification bubble on the headset asking me to allow access. I press it as usual, but nothing shows up on the PC — no drive, no device, nothing. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: factory reset both the headset and the PC Tried multiple USB cables (including the one that used to work) Verified that my phone and other devices connect to the PC without any issues Still, the Quest 3 won’t show up on the computer. Hi guys, I bought my first Quest 3 today. When I turned it on, it started a software update but it gets stuck there — the device keeps turning on and off without completing the update, and I can’t get past that screen. I haven’t even set up my Meta Horizon account yet, and since I didn’t purchase my Quest 3 through the official Meta store, when I try to enter my device’s serial number on the website it gives me an error. I tried doing the sideload update (the only fix I found on the internet) by holding the volume down and power buttons on the Quest 3. But when I select my device in the browser, I get a message saying: “your device is not supported, please try reconnecting your devices.” Weird cause both my PC and Chrome are detecting it as Quest 3. I also tried disabling adblock, deleting caché and cookies, incognito mode, other browsers, other PCs, other cables, connecting it on different times, etc. There is not a single thing I haven't tried. (Every single one of these attempts were done while having 50% battery. There’s nothing else I can do, literally — I’ve already tried factory reset several times as well. Do I need to return my device? I'm submitting this post so support can help me. As I haven't used my Meta Quest3 device for a long time, I need to re-login to my Meta account. I still have the email associated with my account and can receive verification codes through it. However, the mobile phone number I bound has been deactivated, so I can't receive the verification codes sent to my phone! Here is what happened: The headset originally got stuck during an update and became unusable. I entered recovery mode and manually sideloaded an official OTA update using ADB. The update installed successfully and now the headset boots normally again. I can reach the initial setup screen (language, Wi-Fi, pairing code, etc.). However, I cannot complete the pairing process in the Meta Horizon app. Current symptoms: The Meta Horizon app always fails to pair with the headset. Bluetooth permissions and nearby device permissions are enabled. I already tried factory reset multiple times. I also tried reinstalling the Meta Horizon app. The headset connects to Wi-Fi correctly. ADB recovery/sideload works normally. When I check the serial number on Meta support pages, it says the device has “no support available”. The serial number is detected correctly in recovery/ADB.
