PTC v74 Release Thread
Hey Everyone, The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v74 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v74: 1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v74" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v74 issues too. 2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong. Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues. We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! Here’s what to know: Check the memory on your headset: ensure that your device has enough memory to download the app. If your device is low on memory, it may take longer to download the app. Cellular networks: if you are using a cellular network, such as a hotspot, be aware that download times may be longer. Try moving closer to the router or switching to a different network if possible. Find a stable WiFi connection: make sure you are connected to a stable and fast WiFi network. Moving closer to the router may help improve the connection speed. Check for other large downloads: check if there are any other large downloads in progress, such as downloading other games or watching streaming services. These can impact the performance of your WiFi and slow down the app download process.
Why can't I use my quest 3s in the dark
Well I've got a quest 3s and I've heard that you can use them in the dark. I've tried it but for then it appears this pop up telling you to turn ok the lights that disappears 3 seconds later. While seeing the pop up, the hand tracking is perfect, even in darkness. But the moment it disappears, the hand tracking stops working. So, if the quest 3s is capable of tracking you in darkness, why I can't be using the menus in the dark just to watch a series.
I'm not able to purchase games and apps
Hello, I Just got an Quest 3s on christmas, I have it set it up and I played around with some of the pre installed stuff and some free games, but for some odd reason I'm not able to buy games on the store. I tried two different cards from the same bank on the Oculus itself, the app and a laptop and none of them worked. The desktop and app both gave an error along the lines "unable to add payment method" or "account restrictions error" I dont have any account restrictions at least i dont know of I follow the ToS, code of conduct etc. Is this happening or happened to anyone else?
Quest 3S freezes and restarts itself after 10-20 minutes
I had a post about it on reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1m07m0c/quest_3s_freezes_during_playing_and_restarts/ The problem is simple - while playing screen gets frozen and after 10-15 seconds it restarts itself. (I play on both standalone and PCVR and it happens in both cases) My headset is pretty new, i had this problem just the day i got it. Factory resetting helped for around 4 days or so, and now it started happening again. No overheating or errors, it just does it randomly like in 10-30 minutes of playing. I tried doing factory reset again but it didn't help this time. Any help is appreciated While i was trying to find out what was behind this problem i've stumbled upon this problem in ALVR's logs: Client client.wired: [Info] Last log line repeated 3 times 13:09:11.371 INFO Client client.wired: [Error] FIXME: Leaking Imagereader! 13:09:19.489 INFO Client disconnected.
