Quest Link via cable low performance after update
I'm really upset with the performance of Quest software nowadays. I was playing Alyx, Metro and Beat Saber a while ago with zero issues (recommended settings and 600mb bitrate on debug). For some reason, after some updates, I'm getting unplayable stutters even on the Link menu while using the headset. Nothing changed on my hardware. I'm still playing all my flat games on 2k with high fps, so why they reduced my recommended settings and I'm getting really bad fps even on 0.7x? I've read many articles, posts, and websites about this issue. Everything says to "set OVRServer_x64 to Power Saving mode." I've done that multiple times. I've also re-installed the Oculus app, twice. I've re-downloaded all my NVIDIA and AMD drivers. I have no clue what to do. Quest link worked a week ago, now it doesn't. I can add desktop panels, and use them, but I can't see my desktop. Any help would be appreciated. ------------------- My specs: Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (10.0, Build 22631) Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor 8/16 Motherboard: ASRock B650M-C RAM: 32 GB Graphics card1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) Graphics card2: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (512 MB)Solved38KViews4likes40CommentsUnintended automatic Recenter when using hand tracking with Quest Link
Location of the issue: Quest Link home screen and applications using Quest Link Symptoms: - First, put on the Quest headset while it's in sleep mode. - The proximity sensor then wakes the Quest from sleep mode and launches the app. - At this point, if you use hand tracking to turn your palm towards yourself, it unintentionally triggers an automatic Recenter. Additional information: - Once this behavior occurs, it won't happen again until the Quest enters sleep mode next time. - This issue occurs not only in Quest Link apps but also on the Quest Link home screen. - The Recenter seems to trigger the moment the Meta button appears on the wrist. - We checked the log output using ADB, but couldn't find any relevant error information at the moment this issue occurred. This Recenter occurrence significantly disrupts the user experience when demonstrating apps that rely solely on hand tracking. When users move their hands, it unintentionally triggers a Recenter, causing confusion with the user's perspective and severely compromising the experience. If anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a solution, we would greatly appreciate your input. video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lxnDHhZV89W7NyO-GNWtaZdqp3jz4og0/view?usp=sharing1.5KViews1like3CommentsQuest 3/ Air Link stopped working/ No connection to PC/ PC found but Start Button is greyed out...
I've been using the Quest 3 for almost 8 months now, and before i used the Quest 2 without any problems via Air link/same router/same PC... This Saturday I'm playing Borderland 2 VR and on Monday the Quest 3 can no longer connect to the PC without any reason. If I want to activate Air Link via the Q3, my PC is displayed in the Air Link MenĂ¼ as before, but the Start Button for Air Link remains gray and it says "not connected". I've already tried everything:Hard reseting the Headset, factory reset, router reset, PC & Quest 3 reset, Meta Quest Link restart via the beta menu in the PC Oculus APP, repair function of the Meta Quest APP, firewall completely switched off but nothing... Then I read that you should completely delete the Oculus software with all folders and reinstall it. I did that and lo and behold it worked, for exactly ONE day.... When I booted up my PC today and started Quest 3, the same problem... The PC is displayed but the start button to start Air Link remains gray and it is not connected. WHY? Do I have to completely uninstall the software every time, including all folders, then reinstall it in order to be able to play via Air link for exactly ONE day, which has worked for over 3 years before (Quest 1, Quest 2, Quest 3) without any problems? The connection works immediately using the original Meta Quest Link cable. Virtual Desktop APP works also... I've found a bug with the Oculus Link software using the official link cable and Quest 3. Every time I try to play some relatively demanding PCVR titles or enter some heavy worlds in VRChat, after the computer stutters for a few seconds for loading, the headset tracking and the streamed video feed go completely out of sync. The frame rate in the demanding scene after loading is high and smooth, but the video feed in the headset is a bit delayed relative to my head movement, resulting in an extremely nauseous experience. Even after I quit the demanding game and returned to Oculus Dash, the problem remains, and the video feed is still delayed. This bug can be reproduced consistently. Reconnecting the Oculus link briefly eliminates the problem, but the delay happens again when I try to load scenes. This makes the Oculus link unusable. Any solutions? I am trying to connect my unity editor to my Meta Quest 2 to rapid run and test out my VR apps. However running into issues with the set up. The "set oculus as active" option on my Oculus desktop app is not enabling or responding. This seems to be a key problem. I am not sure why, here are some videos from my end: 1. Hi, I'm trying to run the unity project in Oculus quest 2 device through Quest link. I connected the device to the system via USB 3.0 cable (as recommended) I enabled Oculus link in the device which launches the Oculus app in the system. In the Oculus app, it shows the status as connected. When I hit the play button in the Unity editor, it is supposed to run in the device. But it always launched in the editor. Till few days back, it was working and launched in the same device from the same system. Recently I'm facing this issue. Also tried updating the graphics drivers. PC Model: Precision 5570 VR device: Oculus Quest 2 Could someone help me resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.1.3KViews1like5CommentsAir Link cannot find PC
Imma keep this as short as possible. I got a new 5GHz / 2.4GHz router so I could use Oculus Air Link without it stuttering every five seconds (my previous router only had 2.4GHz). When I try connect to my PC it just says "searching for device" but cannot find the PC. I have been troubleshooting and looking at forums and reddit posts for the past few days but none of the advices I have found so far have helped me. I found out that if both devices [the PC(in this case an old laptop I found) and the Quest 2] are connected to Wi-Fi, instead of the PC being connected to Ethernet, Air Link can find the Device and it works without problem. But my PC doesn't have a Wi-Fi adapter, and even if it did I do not want to use Wi-Fi on my PC for Air Link. Here's a list of everything I have done to try and fix this issue: Turn both devices off and on again Turn Air Link on both devices off and on again Uninstall the Quest app and install it again Turn off my Firewall Port forward the port 5669 Change some stuff in my registry scream at my pc for 10 minutes straight Disable DNS Proxy in my router's settings (Not exactly sure what it does but I thought maybe that could be the reason. It wasn't) Turn off all anti-virus programs (A.K.A. Windows Defender) Change from 80MHz to 20/40MHz in my router's settings (like I already said, the problem isn't the wi-fi but the ethernet) I'm really desperate for help. My Oculus Link cable also started to act up yesterday and replacing it would cost too much for me right now so I *really* need to fix Air Link. Thanks in advance!Solved172KViews8likes48Comments
