These features and enhancements will become available starting the week of June 21st, 2023 and will be rolling out to Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 headsets. Quest performance improvements We’re continuing to move VR forward by pushing the boundaries of what Quest Pro and Quest 2 are capable of. With v55, we’re enabling higher clock speeds for the CPU and GPU for all Quest Pro and Quest 2 headsets, giving you smoother gameplay and a more responsive UI. This update also adds more power for developers to take advantage of for both existing and upcoming apps. These performance improvements include: Up to 26% increase in CPU speed for Quest Pro and Quest 2 Up to 19% increase in GPU for Quest 2 Up to 11% increase in GPU for Quest Pro Passcode We’re adding the ability to use a passcode to unlock your device, which will work like the unlock pattern. As this feature gradually rolls out, you’ll be able to set up a numerical passcode between 4 and 12 characters to unlock your device, enter saved passwords, and more. You’ll be able to manage your passcode from Security in Settings. Messenger in VR We’re updating the Messenger experience in VR to help you connect and make new friends while in the metaverse. With v55, we’re bringing the Messenger app, including messaging and audio calling to VR, so you can hang out with those who matter most regardless of which device they use. People you follow are online indicator You’ll now see a green circle on the People tab in the universal menu to help you know when people you follow are online. Explore redesign We’re gradually rolling out an experimental design with new content for the default landing page in VR, Explore, so you can effortlessly engage with your communities, compelling entertainment, and immersive experiences. A few of the Explore changes we’re experimenting with include: New layout formats Reels in VR Reels in VR will only be shown to users who have a Facebook or Instagram account in the same Accounts Center as their Meta account Meta Avatars Store Meta Horizon Worlds featured worlds Media content from Peacock, YouTube VR, Pluto TV and Xtadium Easier avatar editing in real-time We made it easier to travel to the mirror in your Horizon Home to edit your avatar. With just one click on the mirror, you will be transported and ready to view real-time edits to your avatar in an optimal position. This will be rolling out gradually. Eye tracking improvements We’ve improved eye tracking on Quest Pro to make it more accurate across a broader field of view and during expressions like winking. For the most accurate eye tracking, you can always recalibrate by going to Movement Tracking in Settings, then Eye tracking, then Calibrate eye tracking. Use hands on notifications We’re gradually rolling out a new way to interact with notifications in VR using your hands. With hand tracking turned on, you’ll be able to tap on icons or buttons, or swipe to dismiss a notification. New virtual environments We’re releasing two new virtual environments: Futurescape: As featured in this year’s Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, Futurescape combines futurism with the beauty and tranquility of nature. You can try out this new environment by going to Personalization in Settings. The Great Sand Sea: Available for download to all Meta Quest users who pre-ordered Asgard’s Wrath 2, The Great Sand Sea is a large, free roaming, living world that allows you to immerse yourself in the mysterious sands of a vast desert landscape in VR. Once you pre-order Asgard’s Wrath 2, you can download this new Home environment from the Meta Quest app or directly from your Meta Quest headset and then launch the environment from the Home screen. Browser multi-touch support Quest Browser now has multi-touch gesture support, allowing you to use Touch controllers or your hands to zoom in, zoom out, or interact with other web elements.49KViews14likes139CommentsQuest Pro controllers go to sleep too quickly.
Both my partner and I have Quest Pros. We AirLink them to our PCs and play VRChat that way. However, we've both noticed that if we stop moving our hands for only about 10 to 15 seconds the controllers seem to go into a sleep mode which causes our characters in VR's arms to drop straight down to their sides. We can wake the controllers back up by wiggling them a bit but it's quite annoying and jarring to have your arms constantly fall to your sides. It's especially annoying when you're using one controller to scroll through a menu and the other goes to sleep causing the game to enter into one controller mode and then the controller you were using to scroll a menu now moves your character so the menu closes and your character starts moving in some direction. I have looked all over but do not see a way to adjust how frequently the controllers go to sleep when not being moved. I've also tried factory resetting both the headset and the controllers.Solved11KViews8likes25CommentsMy left quest pro controller is not working

Specific Symptoms & Conditions Only Affects UI/Overlays: The tearing and artifacts only appear on the Quest UI, menus, overlays, and video streaming layers (such as Virtual Desktop or screens with white backgrounds). 3D Environments are Unaffected: Full 3D environments, background environments, and in-game visuals work perfectly fine, as long as no system overlay is present. Tied to Head Tracking: The visual tearing is triggered by head movement. It appears as horizontal lines when moving the head up and down, and vertical lines when moving the head left and right. Affected Devices & Firmware Hardware: The issue is widespread and not isolated to one headset. Users have confirmed this is happening on the Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S. Software: Multiple users pinpointed that the issue began very recently, specifically after the Horizon 2.1 update. Troubleshooting Attempted (No Fix Found) Users have attempted standard fixes, including factory resets and using the Meta Quest Update Tool, but the issue persists. Hardware defect ruled out: While one user suggested it could be a loose display cable, the community consensus strongly confirms this is a software/firmware issue. A broken display cable would cause persistent visual glitches across all games and apps, whereas this issue dynamically turns on and off depending strictly on whether a UI overlay is present. https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1rz62f9/comment/oc5a99g/ - pictures and video included https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1rq1z31/quest_2_rainbowartifacts_tearing_but_only_on_ui/ Possibly: Screen Tearing Artifacts | Meta Community Forums - 13690362KViews7likes60CommentsMeta Horizon Worlds does not work on v79.1030 for Quest Pro
I am on build 5092736.7500.340, V79.1030 on the Quest Pro. Meta Horizon Worlds does not work on this build. When starting the app, it initially starts fine, but once it gets past the initial loading screen, it takes me to a blue rectangle on a black background for about 30 seconds, then it loads into the default world but at around 1 frame per 10 seconds. It is just a slideshow, not exaggerating. The actual quest UI and everything else is completely fine and responsive, it's just Horizon Worlds itself doing this. It's super broken on this build. Anyone else got the same issue? I did clear the cache etc too, didn't make a difference.509Views0likes12CommentsPTC 2.3 - Quest Pro controller is getting an offset every 30
- Quest Pro controller is getting an offset every 30s that doesn't resolve itself (I have this issue since day one, on three different controllers so it's not hardware related) as before where I was putting the drifting controller in my back a few seconds to make the headset/controller line of sight occluded, then bringing the controller in front my face/the headset, it used to recalibrate after a few seconds. This issue makes the headset useless when randomly one of your controller is multiple meters away from your actual hand... Note I tried to leave PTC, performed a factory reset : I haven't been rollback to 2.1, I'm stuck on 2.3... Edit : After thousand hours of VR, it's just today I found a way to force the quest pro controller to reset its tracking : I bring the controller inside a pocket/below my t-shirt for a few seconds, then bring it in front of the headset -> it resets the tracking... At least I can use my Quest Pro without restarting my controller every few minutes.306Views6likes15CommentsExternal microphone not working on Link
I recently purchased a usb C gooseneck microphone to plug straight into my Quest Pro (v81). It works and sounds great on native quest apps and recordings, but as soon as I use any streaming software (AirLink, Virtual Desktop, or Steam Link), it does not work. On AirLink and Virtual Desktop, I will get extremely loud clicking that overlaps the audio. Sometimes Virtual Desktop will straight up crash. And again, it works perfectly fine in recordings on the Quest and when testing the microphone on social apps. As a control, I plugged my Antlion modmic straight into the Quest Pro and discovered that it worked with no issues. So now I am confused as to what makes this new microphone not work with AirLink but work perfect on native apps. I've also factory reset the headset and reinstalled Virtual Desktop and Oculus Link on the PC side and that yielded no results.300Views0likes9CommentsQuest PRO - after V.81, half of the face tracking stopped working (the left eyelid does not move)
Quest PRO - after V.81, half of the face tracking stopped working (the left eyelid does not move). Verified - left eyelid does not move in the home world on Quest Pro itself. Verified - the left eyelid does not move precisely when tracking the face. Verified - the right eyelid moves and fully works in face tracking. Verified - the left eye moves with the right. It is the left eyelid that does not work. Verified - I turned face and eye tracking on and off 10 times, restarted Quest Pro 10 times, logged into my helmet and PC account 10 times, and Factory reset Quest Pro 10 times. The Quest Pro backlight is in working condition. Quest Pro has been kept clean in the factory box for over 9 months. Quest Pro was used for no more than 2 months in a room without contamination, without water, without dirt, without hitting objects, without throwing, without throwing on the floor. Quest Pro was immediately upgraded to v.74 and v.81 with Wifi updates only at 100% battery charge. What could have gone wrong? Please correct it.204Views0likes1CommentOut over $28.000 from Meta..Quest Pro.. Just became a piece of expensive plastic
This was bought for me for Christmas since I'm really into creating . Worked great.. 2 months out of waranty..it died. Literally... I was in a game playing.. it went black, didn't shut down, cause I didn't here the jingle. Battery was over half full. Now .. wont turn on... doesn't charge.. doesn't make a sound...doesn't light up anywhere.. its just expensive plastic.. I've done all troubleshooting.. tried reset.. It won't do most of troubleshooting since it won't do anything..Im out alot of money..I am a creator, and can't get anything done.now it's discontinued shortly after it was created. I dont find this right.. I've told them it was a software update I believe since it had just did one.. At first thought no matter if it has warranty or not they should fix cause there software did it.. but now I want it fixed even if I have to pay. They told me they are aware of this problem, but they have no solution.. so I'm stuck. Im very upset.. We had to really save for this expensive device that was discontinued 2 years after creating.. I have literally bought at least one of every device from meta in the past.. sometimes 3 or 4.. I have from all previous headsets 700 purchased games.. my pro headset alone I have over 270x at least $30 a game.. They tell me BUY A NEW ONE.. Where is customer appreciation care?Where is loyalty?I have never used there repair or warranty for any of my headsets.. I AM NOT GOING TO EVER BUY ANOTHER META HEADSET... Being that now days the games are software on line, there is no physical hard copy, I'm out $28.000 from all my different headset types holding games from meta.. averaging games at $40 and over 700 games bought from gear, go ,quest 1, 2 ,and pro.. I can't even recoup any money by selling my games to anyone.. this us a serious problem. They should at least have some kind plan set up for fixing there most expensive product that is discontinued.
