Quest 2 Controller Tracking Degradation
Hi everyone, I’m hoping for some input from experienced Quest 2 users before I make a final decision regarding controller replacement / moving away from meta by upgrading my headset. Over time, my right touch controller (and to a lesser extent the left) has developed noticeable tracking degradation. This wasn’t a sudden failure, it gradually became more apparent during gameplay, particularly in Beat Saber where consistent tracking is important for accuracy and fitness use. I’ve gone through extensive troubleshooting, including: Testing in multiple rooms (including a different property) Controlled lighting conditions (no direct sunlight, no reflective surfaces, no LED interference) Fresh batteries (multiple brands) Re-pairing controllers Cleaning headset cameras and controller rings Guardian reset Full factory reset Testing both standalone and via PCVR The issue persists across all environments. I’ve been in contact with support and understand that, as the device is out of warranty, replacement controllers would need to be purchased through the out-of-warranty program. Investing close to £100 in refurbished replacements, seems very risky and steep, I want to be absolutely certain there isn’t a less obvious cause I’ve overlooked, especially since the root cause hasn’t been conclusively identified as hardware failure. Has anyone experienced gradual tracking degradation like this and successfully resolved it without replacing hardware? I’m particularly interested in: Battery contact or movement issues Less obvious environmental interference Known long-term wear factors Any advanced diagnostics I can try I use my headset primarily for exercise, so reliability is important, but I’d prefer to rule out every possible factor before committing to replacement hardware. Appreciate any constructive suggestions — thank you in advance.60Views0likes5CommentsWin 11 Link app hand tracking support
It's been a while since people have talked about this, but now windows 11 is currently the largest in market share value compared to other platforms. Windows 10 has the ability to use hand tracking while using the link cable but windows 11 just... doesn't? It doesn't seem to make sense. I also want to clarify that I have used hand tracking through third party apps (steam link specifically) but those kill my performance as my Wi-Fi can't keep up with the bandwidth needed. I would prefer to use my link cable but currently there's just no option unless I go back to windows 10... but that would require me to redownload EVERYTHING on my computer and possibly end up losing files. Yes I play games where hand tracking is supported (this often gets brought up in discussions about the topic, games that support it exist, that's not the issue. the link app doesn't support it, the games do. I play vrchat for example). I would just like to know if meta has any plans to actually update the functionality across the board for their link app. The last notable change was a redesign of the desktop interface, and before that the only thing I noticed was them killing the watch (it still doesn't work, it's like the object was deleted). I know it's not the most important thing but killing off such a tool is kinda harsh, especially when 3rd party resources can handle such just fine, and so can windows 10 apparently. I'd prefer the stability and quality of the cable while ALSO having hand tracking, steam link causes my game to freeze periodically and the quality drops to that of a potato (almost low enough for me to count the pixels). Anyways, I've covered what I needed. I don't expect to get a response that actually fits what I'm asking for unless some developer for meta comes across this.33Views0likes2Commentsv85 quest 2 Black screen but boots through pc link.
I just had my quest 2 headset preform a auto update and when I came back a minute later it was on and booted but the screen is lit up but black non responsive. I plugged it into my laptop to check the issue, and then it auto booted into the pc link. From there I am able to back out and go to the regular standalone menu, everything works games apps but it says I am up to date but I believe the update is corrupt cause once I turn it off it boots back to the black screen. also to further my Idea I launched the boot loader and it said the device is corrupt. I don't have anything I really care about on the headset but would prefer not to do a firmware and total wipe. Any ideas? was totally fine before update.379Views2likes13CommentsMeta Horizon Scrolling Bug
When I try to pair my quest 2 with the meta horizon app, I'm unable to scroll down and choose quest 2 on the device pairing page. I recently factory reseted the headset. Aditionally my phone is using the same network at the headset and has Bluetooth mode on. I've un-installed and re-installed the app 3 times, tried two family members phone's (also a samsung), and tried mirroring my phone to my computer's screen. Here's my phone version incase it's relevant to the issue: Phone: Galaxy A13 (Samsung) One Ui version: 6.1 Android version: 14111Views0likes6CommentsQuest 2 stuck in logo flash and no charging indicator
Hi! I have had my Quest 2 sitting in its box for a few years, recently tried using it for the holidays and when i plugged it in to charge, I didn't see any LED light on the device indicating it was getting any charge. I let it charge overnight and still didn't see any improvement. While plugged in, if i put it on, the headset has an all black screen then flashes the oculus logo over and over again. I've tried holding the power button, holding the power button and volume down to try and reset and nothing is working. Is there anything I can do to fix and use this hardware ever again?60Views0likes1CommentBricked unit after update
Firmware 83 just broke my quest 2. Was working fine then after update screen just switches between pass through and a black screen. I can't do anything with it. I've exhausted all suggestions from tech support. Factory Reset Update via software center Even using adb to revert to firmware 76 Meta said they won't help me because it is out of warranty. Can someone explain how this is a warranty issue? They released an update that broke my perfectly working headset and now it's my problem? All i was offered was a discount on a refurbished headset. I didn't break it, it didn't fail from age and use or abuse. YOU broke it and expect me to just buy a new one? I've reported this to BBB meta should be ashamed of their practices448Views2likes21CommentsWorkrooms not working on some Quest 2s
I use Workrooms almost daily. I have a Meta Quest 3 and some of my co-workers have the Quest 2s. It's never been an issue, but just a couple days ago, we noticed that Workrooms does not work on some Quest 2s. After launching the app, the app logos appears then just black. Nothing but black. I have to press the Meta button to bring up the menu to exit the application. At first, I thought it might have something to do with the OS version, but the Quest 2 are all on the most recent v81. Has anyone else encountered this problem? More importantly, does anyone have an explanation or solution?246Views4likes11CommentsOculus Quest 2 Screen Only Works When Casting.
I bought a second-hand quest 2 from my friend a few days ago, everything was working fine until it prompted to update, I had to go to school so I left it on the charger and let it update, it hasn't worked properly since. I've tried factory resetting, I've cleaned the facial sensor tried sideloading the update from my pc multiple times nothing, the only thing that works is when I start casting the device to my phone, for some reason it works fine then? Is there a solution to this, It'll stop working again when I stop casting.Solved80Views0likes2CommentsSome Meta PCVR games overlapping imiges

Hey, my Meta cams (so the cams used to see the environment etc.) doesnt really work. So if I start my Quest 2 and it asks for the Guardian thing to set up it does work and I can see my real surroundings through the cams but it only works for like 3-5 seconds until the cams crash? Basically they freeze and it stops working for some reason. But also when I start the Quest 2 I already have a black screen for the setup and basically have to do the guardian thing "blind". I already did a Factory reset but that didnt fix the issue.108Views0likes2Comments
