3 meta quest devices , Over 3 years , Same issue , stuck on USB Boot Mode
At this point, I'm not looking for a solution. I just want to know whether Meta, Facebook, or whoever knows about the issue has acknowledged it officially. i just want to know what the issue is Introduction to the issue: I spoke with support 12 times; I have the transcripts and screenshots. Will get to it at the end. This is now my 3rd meta device, and exactly 1 or 1.5 years later, it gets stuck on the USB Update Boot page. Tried everything, Hard reset factory reset -leaving it to charge overnight Leaving it to charge for 2 hours Blip charging charging via original plug and cable, through power bank, through wall socket, through extension, through Pc and Mac charging through different cables, type c to c, type A to c side loading update ( on Windows and Mac) pressing the power button for exactly 30, 40 and 60 seconds pressing the power button with the volume down key pressing the power button with the volume up key leaving it to cool off after charging overnight and trying the steps while plugged in and unplugged out left it not plugged in for 2 days , then tried other steps read every blog and forum from Reddit to X, all the way to the forums in Meta all 3 headsets, with all 3 S/N spoke to 12 different agents from meta, and their conclusion is Replacement, but Asia is not supported Refurbished program for out of warranty ( but Asia is not supported NO AGENT ACTUALLY TALKS ABOUT THE ISSUE, does not even mention, yes, we have had complaints and are trying to resolve them, nothing, copy-paste forum links, and actually, 1 agent told me to turn on my device and reset it from my meta home page. Nice, I thought AI bots were smarter than this. Can we go back to speaking to people on the phone and troubleshoot the issue Anyway, I'm seeking clarity about the issue to help me understand what's happening. I appreciate your insights, as I'm not requesting a solution, just information. DO NOT WANT A SOLUTION, just want to know what the issue is. I'm running a lab with ~12 Quest 3 headsets each in their own 10'X10' room. This morning I started running into issues with the headsets would revert from their setup roomscale boundaries into stationary boundary mode. I have tried setting up the boundary in the home screen and in the desired application. The roomscale boundary holds until I take the headset off and put it back on. At that point it says that it doesn't detect a boundary and switches to stationary boundary. My current version is v2.31021. I've cleaned the cameras and sensors and lighting is the same as it has previously been when it held a boundary. I've tried removing boundary history and adding a single roomscale boundary. I really want to avoid factory resetting due to the time involved in performing setup on all the devices. I use a BOBOVR S3 Pro Headstrap with 2 B100 battries. They have always worked where the battery keeps the Q3 at 100% until the B100 dies (playing games like Arizona Sunshine) then the Q3 started to use it's own battery. Since updating to v2.3.1034 by B100 batteries no longer keep the Q3 at 100%. It doesn't deplete as fast as if I wasn't using the B100 battery but the Q3 will drop down to 70% while there is still a good 50-75% left in the B100 battery. Can anyone suggest a fix or if this is a bug in v2.3.104 or just the way the Q3 is now? Device: Meta Quest 3 App: Meta Horizon Hyperscape Issue Description: Since the first day I got my Quest 3, I have never been able to successfully load into any environment in Hyperscape. When I select a world (either a featured official world like "Gordon Ramsay's kitchen" or my own scanned world), it gets stuck on the purple "starry tunnel" loading screen indefinitely. The loading dots keep animating, but the environment never renders. I have tried waiting for several minutes, but eventually, I have to quit to the home menu. This happens to BOTH official featured worlds and my personal scans. Troubleshooting done: 1.Restarted the headset multiple times. 2.Reinstalled the app. 3.Tested on different Wi-Fi bands. (Note: My network can access other Meta services and the Store without issues.) Did anyone encountered this problem? I've been noticing lately that my hands will just suddenly become stiff if I stretch, grab something in VRChat or when I'm trying to grab something on a current model I'm wearing. Its becoming increasingly worrisome that I can't even grab things on certain models that you can actively grabbed Now I'm in a well lit room, my radius is lined by my room so plenty of space. Ok so firstly, I don't even want to be here because somehow my Quest 3 is updated to 2.1 even though I have never joined the PTC in my horizons app. So, the issue with V2.1 I'm having currently is that the controllers go to sleep WAY too fast. It used to take longer so when idle your controllers just don't disappear immediately but now after 3 seconds of inactivity it just disappears until you move it again. While this might seem to be a non-issue, it is immersion breaking in some cases, please revert this behavior to the previous version. Additionally, why was I even updated to 2.1? Hi , I received my Quest 3 on April 2nd from Amazon and the Right Controller is DOA(Dead on Arrival). It gets dangerously hot and drains the battery to 0% rapidly even when the headset is completely powered off. This is a major safety hazard and a clear hardware defect (fire risk). I’ve been stuck in a support loop for 3 days with SIX different agents (Miley, Joyce, Morrison, Levi, Deejay, and Mea). One agent promised to escalate this to a "Specialized Team" but the next day I just got another generic template asking for the same info I already sent. It’s clear no one is actually reading the case history or taking the safety risk seriously. I’m not waiting weeks for a standard RMA on a brand-new device. I’ve already offered a Security Deposit for an Advanced Replacement so Meta has no financial risk. Also, since my Horizon+ trial is running while the device is unusable, I expect at least 30 Euro in Quest Cash for the downtime and this terrible experience. If Meta can't authorize a deposit-based replacement for this controller immediately, I’ll just return the entire Quest 3 unit to Amazon for a full refund. A retail return of a defective unit will cost Meta significantly more in fees and lost value than just shipping me a working controller now. My quest 3 is defective and I'm trying to send it back. Meta have sent me the return labels for DHL, and I have attached them to the parcel. DHL suspend the shipment saying that it lacks the required dangerous goods label. They return it. I chat to support and support escalate it. Someone gets in touch, ignoring the comments I've passed on from DHL. They generate new versions of the same labels (ie missing DG label) which they attach. I respond to their email saying that without the DG label it will get suspended again.
